We stayed here for one evening. Very nice simple 3 star hotel. Clean rooms, no telephone in room but who needs one in 2022 with cell phones. Good WiFi moderate speed. The hotel is directly in front of the beach & close to the best seafood restaurant in town, Amarea. You MUST reserve a parking space for your car when making the reservation because parking spots are nearly impossible to find.

Stayed there for 2 weeks in 2004. The hotel is well run, and has all the
equipment one needs. Nice and clean. Definitely to be recommended. Going again in 2005.

We booked 2 nights online, though the hotel directly told us they were fully booked. Seems they sell some room to some online booking sites.

The place and the location are great, the staff is very friendly. It seems on our first night we got the best room (126) which has not only a small balcony, but also a big private terrace (there is also a great terrace on the 2nd floor)

The location is fantastic .. right at the small public part of the pebble beach (if you think pebbles are not nice, think about all the sand that you are NOT getting into everything ... less messy). Around this public part are many pay-per-day beach options (26 - 40 EU per couple) which gives you 2 beach chairs and an umbrella.

But back to the hotel ... clean, working AC, wifi in the public areas (we had room 114 the second night, smaller, still seaview, and close enough to the reception to get the wifi signal). The breakfast was above sufficiant, albait a bit unpersonal, everything, including hot drinks, was self service. They have a corner of the breakfast area designated as 'playroom' which was great for our kid.

Parking will be a problem as the public space close to the hotel is always crowded. You can book a space in the garage of the hotel for 12EU a night.

We very much enjoyed the stay and would come back in a heartbeat. If you go, do not miss visiting the historic center of Bordighera (only a 10 minutes walk away)

We visited out of season during storm. We wanted to spend a special evening lookng out at the Meditarranean. The room was basic and could be improved , but it was not unexpected as we'd done our research and read about the hotel. Despite the gale outside the view was spectacular from the balcony and when the storm ended the following day we had an hour sitting on the lovely balcony watching the sea.

I felt the room could be easily improved, but I guess with the lovely balcony/views it isn't necessary to work hard at fixtures and fittings.

We booked the meal at the hotel. 35 Euros each. When we looked at the menu on display I realised it wasn't going to work for me. Hamburger or fish were the options. My husband spoke to reception and queried whether to cancel our reservation and was assured that if we mentioned this to the waiter an aternative could be found. We assumed there were probably vegetarian alternatives e.g. eggs or perhaps a pasta dish.

So we arrived at the restaurant. We had the conversation with the waiter as advised by reception. Clearly it was going to be more problematic than anticipated. I was presented with a second course of a small plate (side plate size) with approx 5 pieces of boiled broccoli on it.

We paid the full price for this meal. I did mention it to Reception as I left as this may keep happening and really isn't what you hope for on a romantic evening at the seaside. I was given a sympathetic nod and attentive manner. I felt they needed to be aware they were giving advice to ask for an alternative option and guess were being brocolli on a side plate.

We have been so lucky in recent years with the hotel restaurants in ITaly where we have stayed - at Maggiore and Orta. It has taken me about 3 weeks to decide to write this review. I was telling a friend the story and realised it really wasn't acceptable and spoiled what should have been a lovely, if stormy evening at this resort.

We will return, but not to the Piccolo Lido.

This is a beautifully maintained family owned gem on a pleasant beach at the extreme eastern end of Bordighera. We have been driving or training through Bordighera for years, often stopping for lunch or dinner at one of its many fine restaurants. It is also a good shopping destination. This year, heading east from the Nice ferry terminal we decided to make it an overnight stop. We had visited the hotel in October, picked up a brochure and took a quick look around. We knew we wanted to give it a try.

While there is some public parking near the hotel, count on its being full. They have a tiny garage, theoretically holding six cars in a Rubik's Cube configuration that takes patience and skill to maneuver into. If you are arriving by train, it will be a short cab ride or a long walk.

The breakfast was one of the best in a six week trip. Sitting outside on a beautiful May day, we could easily have settled in for a few weeks. There was a pleasant mix of young and old couples and families.

This is a small hotel and our room overlooking the beach was similar to the one pictured on their web-site. Tastefully decorated, a little cramped, but with a tiny but lovely balcony, we were very comfortable there. The hotel has an absolutely magnificent sun terrace which is not to be missed.

The staff is warm and welcoming. The hotel gets many repeat visitors, and deservedly so. There are a number of more expensive (and also less costly) hotels in Bordighera, but this one provides excellent value, an optimal location and truly genuine hospitality.

Last winter they were having considerable trouble with their e-mail. I finally had to write them requesting the reservation and providing credit card information as a guarantee. Hopefully, you will have an easier time of it. If not, be patient and use the post.

If you want to fall asleep to the sound of waves rolling onto shore, Piccolo Lido is the place. This wonderful little beach hotel is genuine italian luxury in every aspect. Be sure to get a room facing the ocean and bring your binoculars. If you are lucky you will see dolphins.

We stayed here for three nights in April 2014. We booked the hotel after reading reviews at Tripadvisor and we chose Bordighera following an article in a Swedish newspaper, describing it as an old fashioned Italian resort.
We had a de luxe room with sea view on the third floor with a half moon balcony overlooking the Mediterranean in 180 degrees. The room was newly renovated and very nice. The hotel is just a few meters away from the beach, with the strand promenade between. We slept with the french doors open listening to the waves going to sleep and wakening up. We had dinner all three nights at the hotel and found the food reasonably priced and good (Andrea, thanks for the rabbit meal). The staff was very helpful and serviceminded. The hotel has a small garage that can be booked, specially during high season.
Normal breakfast that can be had outside weather permitting.

Piccolo Lido is right beside the seaside. Wonderful airy family room overlooking with sea with big balcony. Wonderful friendly staff, so helpful with the children. The restaurant was great - gorgeous food. Marvellous breakfast - such variety. The old town is just 10 minutes walk, it is so interesting and beautiful with great restaurants. The reception staff were so helpful with information regarding the area and the best bit was the bill - we found it great value for money!

This hotel is located close to the sea, just outside the hustle and bustle of Bordighera's city centra. Strangely the reserved parking spot just outside the entrence belonged to the hotel on the other side of the street. But at the end of our hotel there was a medium large parking area to be used. We had booked one of the hotels private parking places for the night, but were politely told that could stay safely outside, without any payment, as long as we stayed on one of the marked parkingplaces which at the time were available at the hotel's end. Later in the season free placees here could be more difficult to find.
We were two couples, one with seaview an one with partially seaview, beatiful views from both rooms that was. Rooms were quite big, beds a little on the hard side but o.k. for us. Service was excellent and the breakfast was very good with alot of items to choose from. We enjoyed our stay and the service very much.

We had a week in this hotel at the end of September. We chose a superior room with sea view and had a room right at the end of the hotel. Great views, superb terrace. Breakfast plentiful, hotel staff accommodating and friendly. Fantastic location as we could sleep with the doors to the terrace open and hear the sea. Great photographic opportunities both at sun up and sun down.
