We visited out of season during storm. We wanted to spend a special evening lookng out at the Meditarranean. The room was basic and could be improved , but it was not unexpected as we'd done our research and read about the hotel. Despite the gale outside the view was spectacular from the balcony and when the storm ended the following day we had an hour sitting on the lovely balcony watching the sea. I felt the room could be easily improved, but I guess with the lovely balcony/views it isn't necessary to work hard at fixtures and fittings. We booked the meal at the hotel. 35 Euros each. When we looked at the menu on display I realised it wasn't going to work for me. Hamburger or fish were the options. My husband spoke to reception and queried whether to cancel our reservation and was assured that if we mentioned this to the waiter an aternative could be found. We assumed there were probably vegetarian alternatives e.g. eggs or perhaps a pasta dish. So we arrived at the restaurant. We had the conversation with the waiter as advised by reception. Clearly it was going to be more problematic than anticipated. I was presented with a second course of a small plate (side plate size) with approx 5 pieces of boiled broccoli on it. We paid the full price for this meal. I did mention it to Reception as I left as this may keep happening and really isn't what you hope for on a romantic evening at the seaside. I was given a sympathetic nod and attentive manner. I felt they needed to be aware they were giving advice to ask for an alternative option and guess were being brocolli on a side plate. We have been so lucky in recent years with the hotel restaurants in ITaly where we have stayed - at Maggiore and Orta. It has taken me about 3 weeks to decide to write this review. I was telling a friend the story and realised it really wasn't acceptable and spoiled what should have been a lovely, if stormy evening at this resort. We will return, but not to the Piccolo Lido.

We stayed here for one evening. Very nice simple 3 star hotel. Clean rooms, no telephone in room but who needs one in 2022 with cell phones. Good WiFi moderate speed. The hotel is directly in front of the beach & close to the best seafood restaurant in town, Amarea. You MUST reserve a parking space for your car when making the reservation because parking spots are nearly impossible to find.

Everything was excellent from the time we arrived. Helpful and friendly staff and the room with a balcony overlooking the Mediterranean was spacious. Water was 30 m away. Lovely breakfast, handy to everything.

Time flies! It has been over 10 years since we stayed here and it is still an enjoyable, good value hotel. With all the wear and tear in a hotel, that is quite an accomplishment. There are certainly fancier places to stay on the RIviera, but if you are looking for comfort, cleanliness and a bit of congeniality, the Piccolo Lido is worth consideration. Bordighera is considerably quieter than San Remo and Ventimiglia, has a number of superior restaurants and is a good base for exploring the area. Their little garage is a distinct plus. The breakfast is a bit better than most, although I would stay away from the steam table. Yes, the walls are a bit thin, but they get a respectful class of customers. Haven't tried the restaurant. It does offer modest price fare if you are not tempted by the many more elaborate options in town. Amarea, right on the beach is a favorite-but may be moving in the Fall. Since they are at the very beginning (or end) of Lungomare Argentina, you are somewhat protected from the noise and traffic closer to the train station.

We stayed there a weekend after arriving by plane to Nice airport, the room was ok, but the balcony was amazing, bathroom tiny and air con hardly working. The breakfast not exciting , my wife took is to the balcony or else you had to dine in a cellar! Our balcony was sheltered from the huge construction going on on your left, happily it was friday until monday so very quiet. The city was charming.

This is the most attractive beach hotels in Bordighere. We had a room with a balcony and it was a treat sitting there watching the sea while sipping a tasty glass of wine. The room was spacious and clean. We had a great sleep in a comfortable bed. Nice hot showers. There is a roof top terrace with sun lounger - perfect for a quiet time. A great choice for the breakfast which included cereals, yogurt, fruit, a vast selection of bread, cheese and Italian breakfast cakes. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Until a couple of years ago, we used to go to this little Hotel on the Italian Riviera town of Bordighera, and really enjoyed it. Located at just 50 feet from the beach ( an unusual beach made of what seem to be river rock ), this small Hotel offered a beautiful view of the coast, efficient and very attentive service, and great food at their restaurant. Parking was somewhat difficult, since their garage can hold only 5 cars, and one had to find a place on the street to park. Also, the small and only elevator was sometimes an inconvenience. There is a small refrigerator in the rooms, but no mini-bar; one has to go downstairs to request a bottle of water… But all in all the prime location, the staff’s courtesy and attention, and the moderate price made this place a top choice. Unfortunately, some things seem to have a bit changed for the worse since then, and honestly speaking it's not all imputable to the Hotel. The most annoying thing is that the city Council has decided to restructure - in the least opportune of times - the roundabout on the side of the Hotel. Besides the horrible noise of the jack hammer, the already poor parking situation has become totally unacceptable - there is no space anywhere to park your car! Besides this unfortunate situation, I was also somewhat disappointed in noticing what appeared to be a slight deterioration in the quality of their restaurant as for menu and choices ( even if the service remains absolutely tops ). The scrambled eggs at breakfast, for instance, were rubbery and did not even look appetizing… Anyway, everybody I spoke with over there hopes that the parking situation becomes better in the near future, so I would continue to recommend this Hotel because of its location but especially for the great, continuous service and friendly assistance offered by the manager and the whole staff.

Stayed at the hotel from 15/6 to 21/6. Pros: Breakfast nice Cons: WIFI: The hotel claims it has " free WIFI". It appears it only was for ½ hour per day - and it seems that they do not know themselves AND on Sunday NO connection at all. I went down on Friday on Saturday to reception and no one - even the manager - did not understand the problem and the manager showed me that he was on. However on Sunday my husband had access to the server and it said that "your daily limit is used" Not OK that you have only ½ hour per day (not a limit in MB or the likes) and that you were not informed of that up front. Aircon: ON the first night the temperature in the room was between 27 and 28 degrees even though we had put on the aircon at 22 degrees. After 2 complaint the following day a technician inspected the system and we were told that everything should be OK now. The following night the temperature dropped to 25 to 26 degrees even though we put the aircon at 22. When we claimed the following day we were told that they would lower the temperaure for OUR room to 20 degrees. Even though we now put the aircon to 20 degrees we never succeded to have a temperature below 22 degrees. Construction work: About 20 meter from the hotel and our balcony a construction work was taking place. That meant that for 3 mornings (Thursday to Saturday) from 7 am. jackhammers were working until app. 4 pm. and for 3 more days (Monday to Wednesday) heavy trucks were loaded and other noisy activities took place. That meant that the balcony was for no use in day hours and it was covered by dust. We had booked well in advance and requested a quiet room. However NO information were given about this. Would we come back or would we recommend the hotel to friend - NO.

The location, directly on the beach, is perfect, and our room--324 with a beautiful balcony--made our stay perfect. Staff are professional and helpful. I was carrying a bag with wine to take home and the offer was immediately made to refrigerate it. Parking is problematic but a short walk to where it is available is not difficult. Excellent restaurants are close by. I would highly recommend staying here.

We only had one night on the Italian riviera on our way to Tuscany and thank goodness we picked Bordighera and Piccolo Lido located right on the beach with stunning views. Our deluxe double room with balcony and sea view was so comfortable and the staff very friendly even going beyond the sense of duty to help. There were many restaurants along the beach and after a lovely breakfast outside on the esplanade the markets were starting to open that day and stretched for miles. We really enjoyed our stay and wish it had been longer.
