Functional room. Fabulous bed, with pleasant duvet and balanced warmth. Shower and bathrooms clean as always. The choice of breakfast is convenient for its variety in the choice of buffet. Safe parking and closed at night. The strong point remains the courtesy and availability of all the staff in meeting the needs of customers.
It is the third time I have had the pleasure of staying in this location and I highly recommend it to those looking for quality at a decidedly affordable cost.

I think it would be hard to find a better view of the Monastery than could be had from our bedroom window at the Hotel La Pace in Cassino. Conveniently tucked away in a side street not far from the Town center, the establishment provides simple comforts sufficient for a stay of any length when visiting the Monastery, battlefields and War graves in the area. Our host Pino Valente is a charming and knowledgeable guide who provides both information and hospitality to a high degree and together with his Wife, they make for a perfect stay in Cassino. The Hotel is a treasure trove of artefacts from the campaigns and with Pinos depth of understanding of customers requirements, can give expert advice at every level. No meals other than breakfast are provided, but there are a good range of restaurants available locally that cater for all dietary choices. I would have no hesitation in recommending La Pace to travelers of all ages who have an interest in the military aspects of the Town, or who simply want to explore a quieter side of Italy.

We booked this hotel as it was in a good location in the town and more importantly for us Pino the hotel owner has utterly amazing knowledge of the battle around Cassino during WW2 and could not have been more helpful with regard to information. Our main reason for our trip was to visit the battle sites and cemeteries.
Our rooms were air conditioned with a private bathroom with shower.
The Italian buffet breakfast was very good and we certainly enjoyed the pastries.
All the staff were friendly and happy to provide maps and tour guides, along with allowing us to gain information from the vast library of books on the battle .

It was also a short walk from the hotel to catch the minibus service to Monte Cassino Abbey.

The hotel is in a good location with fantastic views of Monte Cassino. The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful and go out of their way to ensure you have a good stay. The bed was comfy and air conditioning in the room was much appreciated in the hot weather. It was easy to park on the road outside and you can access the hotel at any time of day/night with a key fob. We would highly recomend the owners history tours of the area too.

From the onset, Pinot the owner made our group of 20 feel welcome. Our rooms were all ready to check in as requested. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the aircon was brilliant, wifi signal grest and the view to the abbey was amazing. Pinot was an excellent host, giving our group of 20 a presentation on the events that led to the battles of Cassino. He provided our group with packed lunches and even paid for our group to go to a local restaurant for our evening meal.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful our experience was at the Hotel La Pace. The hotel is quite charming and our room was clean and the facilities were excellent. The breakfast was delicious and the service from the friendly staff made the start of our days stress free. The location was perfect and our room had the most gorgeous views of the Abbey and the mountains. We had the opportunity to meet the owner, Pino and he is truly magical. We travelled for the sole purpose of touring the area as my Father fought for the Polish army here. Pino's knowledge, compassion and understanding regarding the history of this beautiful town and what occurred here during the war made this a life changing experience for us. Pino, his family, friends and associates truly created an experience that was incredible. The hotel is filled with artifacts, books and items that help to tell the story. We toured the battlefields and monuments with Pino and his passion for the history is amazing. He is a true gift to anyone wishing to learn about the area. Pino's dedication to both teaching and preserving the history of Monte Cassino is unmatched. Did ti Benedict Giuseppe, motte grazie.

We stayed here for a week to visit some of the battle field sites from WW2. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Pino goes out of his way to give you his experience and expertise on the local area. His hotel is clean and tidy, the staff are fantastic, warm and welcoming and real joy to stay her. The views from our room where outstanding. The room could do with a bit of a touch up in terms of décor however, this should not detract from the overall experience. We had a fantastic stay. I would also like to mention the value for money which, we felt was fantastic.

I will review in two parts, the Hotel and the Walking Tour called Footprints on the Battlefield trails of Monte Cassino which was linked to the Hotel website and upon arrival I found out it was run by the hotels owner Pino.
I had booked the tour on 13th April five weeks before my arrival and a Military Tour was my sole purpose of visiting Cassino.
I was dismayed to have my tour cancelled by text 18 hours before I was due to go on it, PIno cited an anniversary event and a school twinning event both of which I find hard to believe he was unaware of 5 weeks previously when I booked.
By virtue of the internet I was able to find another tour at half the price which met my needs.
I was given an immediate refund which was in my account the next day.

This is a budget hotel and the state of decoration reflects that.
Checking in was easy and we added breakfast to the room price.
We had booked a twin room and found a double bed and a single bed, more of a family room and the smaller bed did not have any sockets or light switches next to it.
There were broken tiles in the bathroom and door knobs falling off some cupboards.
There was a good size balcony which needed a couple of chairs, and there was a great view of the Abbey.
Breakfast was very nice with a good typical continental selection
There was a lift.
In reception there is an interesting display of military memorabilia.
The hotel is a 10 minute easy walk from the station.
WiFi was free.
On a general note there is very little of interest to do in Cassino and on reflection I would have taken a day trip from Rome

A very very welcoming hotel, with a family-run feel and such helpful hosts - nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff, and everyone was ready to give helpful advice or directions. For those interested, the proprietor gives a very interesting talk on the history of the town and the abbey and the battle, and can help visitors from every nation to understand the role of the different nations and the perspective of the local population (which includes his family). There is also plenty of advice on what to see locally and walks to do. The hotel is very convenient and central to the town, 20 minutes walk from the station, and close to plenty of places to eat (which the hotel staff will help to recommend). Our room was very comfortable, well equipped, and had a wonderful view of the abbey.

I highly recommend Hotel La Pace for your place to stay when visiting Cassino/Monte Cassino. Giuseppe (Pino) and the staff were very hospitable and inviting, and helped accommodate my large university group.
The rooms were great, some with terraces with views of the Abbey. They also have many helpful resources in the lobby. Though we did not have the chance given a tight itinerary, Pino offered to provide presentations on the battles of Monte Cassino.
It is located a approx. 500m/5-10 minute walk from the Center and near numerous restaurants/bars.
