La Medusa offered a throughly relaxing experience during our stay. In close proximity to NAP airport, we enjoyed the tranquillity of the spa and accompanying beautiful gardens offering us a chance to truly let go and relax prior to our travels back to the states. The attentiveness of the staff, and the simple but valuable asset of ease of parking added to our fabulous experience.

We stayed at La Medusa per 3 nights during our holiday in Campania at the beginning of October. The hotel is impressive and well curated in all the details. The room was very clean and spacious and the place offers various great services, such as a beautiful pool, a nice outside garden, an indoor bar, an assorted breakfast with a beautiful view on the Vesuvio and additional spa service - to be paid separately but fairly priced. We also had the chance to dine twice at the hotel restaurant and both food and service were impressive, particularly thanks to the maitre Giovanni Sansone and the Chef Raffaele Galasso, as well as to the waiters. All the staff was always available to help with any request and super friendly with us. Apart from the hotel, the outside location is not spectacular but very handy to see Naples and its surroundings by car. Definitely recommended!

We booked two nights at this boutique hotel due to its strategic location closed to Pompei, our final destination. We were very impressed by our suite with a very large private terrace facing the Vesuvio and the gulf of Naples. In addition the well appointed citrus garden is maintained in pristine condition. Great commitment from the owner and all the management to maintain this property in such good condition despite the difficult time due to Covid emergency. Breakfast and lunch both served in open air was tasteful with good service. Two thumbs up for the overall experience.

As a group of 4 (2 couples) we booked the Medusa in the hope of experiencing a taste of luxury to celebrate my 50th birthday and boy, we weren’t disappointed!!
The Hotel has the WOW! Factor from inside out, and back to front. Opulent internal décor, exquisite furnishings and immaculately manicured gardens provided a fine starting point for our wish of grandeur to be granted. Coupled with a back drop of Mt Vesuvius to one side and views of the Amalfi Coast the other, our expectations were comprehensively surpassed.
Francesco (the GM) made us very welcome with an initial introduction to the hotel over a complimentary glass of bubbles in the garden bar. The staff at the Medusa are impeccable. Throughout the ranks, they convey themselves with utmost courtesy and professionalism to all their guests. Without exception, they’re extremely hard working, helpful and very attentive without being intrusive (which can be a fine line). We were almost made to feel like part of a family.
The hotel lobby and lounge bar are beautifully furnished (as is the whole hotel) and the reception staff are extremely helpful, ready to please and we were always greeted with confidence and a smile. Silviano needs a special mention – With his great English (but dubious humour!) and knowledge of the local area, he really looked after us – He provided some cracking restaurant recommendations and was always on hand with the keys to the mini bus!! (Does this man ever sleep??!) Thank you Silviano!!
The formal gardens are very impressive too! Highly manicured and constantly maintained with an abundance of comfortable, secluded seating areas amongst the statues and sculptures where you can relax with a book or just take in the floral fragrances with a glass of wine in the sunshine. Night time reveals a cautious spectacle of purposely placed lighting throughout the grounds, enhancing the ambiance to yet another level. All the while, perfectly volumed background music will keep you company.
The restaurant areas are equally as impressive & luxurious with high quality furniture & décor and immaculately presented. The roof top breakfast area is especially striking, providing a 360-degree panoramic view of the Mountains and Amalfi Coast while tucking in to an un-hurried, delicious breakfast. Just stunning!
All in all, I cannot rate the Medusa highly enough. The staff, the gardens & bar, our room and its facilities, the fine dining, beautiful silverware & champagne breakfasts accompanied with the stunning views – All this was beyond our expectations and made my Birthday celebration very, very special indeed. “Grazie mille” Grand Hotel La Medusa!
I would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone contemplating a visit and given the opportunity, we’d return in a heartbeat.
And I haven’t even mentioned the jacuzzi pool, wellness centre, spa, gym….. Ahhh!

The location of this hotel feels off the beaten track as a tourist but very accessible to Pompeii and Castellammare di Stabia by car. Great that the parking is free too but reception like to keep your keys behind there.
Reception staff are very happy and helpful. Nice to be shown to your room personally.
The grounds of the hotel are stunning so it’s obvious why people get married here. Lovely pool but there was no one to give us towels one hour before closing.
Breakfast views are stunning! I could have sat there all morning, so I was gutted we had to rush for our flight. The older (English speaking) waiter in there was very helpful and got my coffee pot and hot soya speedily. Like that they have a selection of milks, fruits, cold cuts, sweets and scrambled eggs (despite saying continental breakfast only for the buffet). The pancakes were funny they looked like cut out cakes!
The room was nice and clean. Eco slippers were a nice touch and bathroom with Etro toiletries. The bath foam (shower gel)had not been filled so my partner requested that. Also there was no coffee sachets in the room and the creamers were dusty so had to ask reception for them to be filled. Another annoying thing is they have no irons/ironing boards instead they have an ironing service which is available 7am-7pm which we missed.
The dinner restaurant Donn’Eugenia was a mixed experience so I have reviewed separately.
Overall the stay was good, just some details overlooked.

For the complete resort experience, La Medusa fits the bill. With stunning accommodations, pool/spa, dining areas, and grounds, and with first-class food (we enjoyed the extensive breakfast buffet, as well as lunches and dinners there throughout our 3-day stay), it is a destination location. The only negative point we must note is that we were charged if we requested water for the dining table at lunches and dinners, which was served in capped bottles, either still or carbonated. La Medusa was the only location throughout our tour of southern Italy that charged for table water, and it made our room tally far more expensive than elsewhere.

Wonderful clean hotel, beautiful interior and fabulous attentive staff. Spacious rooms and amazing restaurant with Michelin style food offerings. The hotel is also situated in an ideal location near the local train station that gives easy and cheap access to Naples , Pompeii and Sorrento. The hotel provides a convenient shuttle bus to the nearby station. Hotel is surrounded by well maintained gardens and a lovely pool area (although it was too cold to use during our visit in late October. The Spa is nice and relaxing too. Rooms were a decent size and furniture throughout the hotel was very opulent looking. It could easily pass for 5 star. Special thanks to all the staff who made our stay a dream. Particular praise goes out to Silvano who was a source of great information on the local area and went above and beyond to assist in any way possible. Would thoroughly recommend this place and the location is most convenient. I'm glad I didn't opt to stay in the centre of Naples as it was too busy and polluted although good for a day trip or two. Sorrento, Pompeii and the Amalfi coast are the real jewels in the crown in this area

From arrival we were treated so well. Every part of this beautiful hotel is absolutely spotless. The staff are caring and it appears that both management and staff have very good relationships. When we arrived we were greeted by the team at reception who were so welcoming and informative about where we should go and how to get there. Giving us help with regards to train times to Pompeii etc. Our bags were carried to our room by Silvanno who is also the taxi driver who takes you into the local town when required at the set times which is at least 4 times a day. He was such a nice, friendly man, always smiling and who could not do enough for us. Full of information and advice about the local area and places to see. He is a great asset to the hotel! Breakfast was tasty and varied with the most spectacular views of Mount Vesuvius and the bay. Dinner was also varied with a good choice of menu. The food is definitely 5 star quality and taste. Make sure you try the desserts too, you won’t be disappointed, believe me! The dinner was served by the most friendly and lovely staff. The tables were so well presented with silverware and fresh flowers. There were numerous places to sit and enjoy a coffee or a drink in the beautiful gardens. At night the place was lit with twinkle lights and candles …stunning. The pool was great, very clean, spacious with bar service throughout the day. Very relaxing area. The spa is definitely worth a visit with an array of treatments available. The bedroom was spacious, bright with a very cosy bed. Great mattress toppers!! Overall, I have to say that this hotel is absolutely beautiful. A very relaxing place to stay with super, friendly staff, great food and lovely rooms, furnishings and ambiance throughout. Only a couple of minutes by taxi which is supplied by the hotel into town but, to be honest, the hotel is that nice, we didn’t want to leave! We will definitely be back!!

We stayed in this beautiful hotel for four nights to celebrate a family wedding, and we were truly sorry to say goodbye and leave. From our first impression of arriving at the hotel to the very last moment, we felt that this was a very special place. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and a credit to the team of gardeners; our room was spacious with a beautiful view and was kept spotlessly clean by our chambermaid (very sorry that we didn’t know her name); Reception staff were so very helpful at all times responding with a smile and patience at our every request, so thank you Achille, Erminia and those whose names we didn’t get; Silvano is a national treasure, always smiling and attentive and we bless him for picking us up so late at night one time – still with a smile; Gennaro, Milena and the hospitality/catering team do an amazing job (I wish I could name them all) – the wedding meal was just incredible not just for the food itself which was superb (and, sadly, we didn’t get to meet the very skilled and talented chefs!) but also cooking specially for the baby who was seated at our table! The decorations and flowers all around were just magnificent and created the most picturesque setting. Nothing could have been bettered, all the guests agreed.
Francesco, you looked after us all wonderfully and when you said nothing was too much trouble, we know you meant it, and thank you. We would like to hope that we will return before too long and spend time once again at La Medusa.

Hotel La Medusa was without a doubt the best hotel property I’ve ever stayed at! The rooms were spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was extremely luxurious (with both a large bathtub and shower). The breakfast was exquisite, had many options for all dietary needs, and a spectacular view of Mt. Vesuvius! The pool was well-maintained and offered poolside drinks as well as snacks. The grounds are beautiful and the wonderfully lit garden restaurant offered the most romantic night time dining experience for my wife and I. The staff was very attentive, especially Silvano who went out of his way to make sure we got to the train station, knew how to buy tickets, gave us excellent advice on things to do in the area and where to eat. He truly made us feel like we were part of the Medusa family! Overall, would 10/10 recommend this hotel it will elevate your experience and leave you wanting to come back again!

Hi I’m not sure to be honest. We hired a car from the airport which was cheap enough and meant we could visit Pompei and Sorrento. I think the hotel run a shuttle bus if you contact them they may be able to advise. Enjoy your stay it’s an amazing hotel 😀
