We were SO HAPPY with our stay at the Asnigo hotel. We do not have one bad thing to say. The hotel was beautiful (stunning views of the lake and towns, very clean, well decorated). The staff were all so nice (went above and beyond to help us with everything we needed. They even provided us with ice-packs multiple times a day, as my partner has a knee injury.) The rooms were beautiful and very clean. The restaurant had delicious food and stunning views. Thank you so much to the staff for making our stay unforgettable. We will definitely be back :)
Overall we felt this hotel was a bit tired looking and dated for an Italian 4 star hotel. Staff were friendly when the reception was manned. We had a junior suite with lake view, which was really a very small room a bit like a dentist waiting room with functional furniture and the bathroom off it and a stair case to the bedroom built into the loft with no views. The small room had a door to a balcony that did look over the lake this is true. Adequate breakfast which was buffet style but not self service I guess because of COVID.
My husband and I decided to try this hotel as we are regular visitors to the area. As Brits living in Switzerland we are very privileged to have the option of driving down to the Italian Lakes at short notice where my husband can work from the room, finish his working week then we can enjoy the weekend beauty. My husband called the hotel to ask their advice about the room as he needed a good desk to work from. We opted for a room with partial view so he could see the scenery from the room as he worked. The hotel were well aware of the fact that he would need to work from this room. On check in it was fine, temperature check and given the room key. If I told you that you 'could not swing a cat' in the room then I am being generous. I pride myself on my honest reviews and when I thought about writing a review, I have to say I was glad that I was not the one going to stay in that tiny room all day. It really should have been a singly room, in my opinion. The drawer was broken on the cabinet, the safe did not work, the working desk was no bigger than A 3 size paper and there was no computer plug at hand for my husband to work. Ok, we forgave all of that for the lovely view from the pool area. As I was walking down to the pool area the receptionist chased me to tell me that I would need to wear a swimming cap as part of the Covid new rules...Accepted, I resumed my pool approach. The problem is it was clear that most of the guests had not been given the same info and dove into the pool hair free!!!! The hotel is not allowed to serve a buffet breakfast, therefore, we were given a form to complete for our breakfast order. No problem, I can hear you say! The only problem was that there was only one poor lady trying her very best to serve everyone cold coffee and the most miserable breakfast I have encountered in a four start Italian hotel. The selection is very limited and not that wholesome in my opinion. We constantly had to ask for a hot coffee, equally feeling uncomfortable that she was doing her very best and not wanting to stress her even more. My husband complained about the food and service and of course, we accept at this time there are restrictions but having visited Italy many times previously I would say the hotel should have stayed closed if they cannot deliver the service you as a guest have bought. We really appreciate the Covid 19 situation but if a hotel is open for business and take payment as a four star hotel then a service should be behind it. In summary, I would say that it is a hotel offering a lovely view for people who want to get in the car every time they go out without many facilities close by.…
We have stayed in this hotel for 3 nights just after Christmas, we were impressed by the beautiful view from our balcony.the hotel is positioned in a way that you see Lake Como very well. The lift is panoramic too. The staff was really helpful and ready to suggest places to visit. The breakfast was good too and from the breakfast room there was the view of the lake too. Highly recommend this hotel for your stay on the lake.
We stayed for three nights and the staff were kind enough to let us have a room with balcony for two nights. And that was what made it - Superior views over the Lago as you would have from the restaurant on the ground floor. Good car parking available nearby. Food was so so, breakfast actually quite poor with very limited restocking throughout the course of the breakfast. Had an evening meal as well and it was okay. Both rooms were nice, but very petit. So short term stay only I would say. Staff couldn't be faulted.
