Very modest hotel, but clean and with friendly staff. Close to the lakeside, and situated right in the heart of this lovely little town. Our visit was right at the end of the tourist season, so quite quiet - which suited us very well. The buffet breakfast was very adequate - cheeses, cold meats, fruit and local bread. We used... This hotel as already mentioned is situated right in the heart of the beautiful lakeside town of Malcesine. The hotel is small and the rooms are compact. The hotel and the rooms are kept clean. There are no evening meals but the continental style breakfast is sufficient. The staff were friendly and helpful. For a two star hotel there is... More

I stayed at this hotel for a week in September. It is very basic, even a bit tatty in places BUT very clean. The two ladies who run the Modena are friendly and efficient and a mine of information about the town and the area. The location couldn't be better - go out of the front door and turn left... More

When we first visited this town it was about 8 years ago and we just loved our stay in The Modena Hotel as we loved the staff and the present owner then Gino . Gino has since passed away which was a shock to us but the 2 lady's who were there then are still there Cloudia and Marli these... More

Arrived at 1.00am hotel was locked up, no answer to emergency number had to get holiday rep to contact them. Owner arrived 20 minutes later by car, pretty much threw the room keys at us and walked out. No apology nothing. On the list of "rules" it does say that the hotel locks the door at 10.00pm and you have... More

I stayed here for a week in sept for my friends wedding, it's basic but brilliant. Right in the centre of Malcesine, 5 second walk from the lake and the staff made our holiday! Francesca, Mara and Claudia where so friendly and helpful! We were sad to leave! Their restaurant is across the street, very reasonably priced and again the... More

Hotel Modena has a 2 star rating on the door given by the local government. It lives up to that rating, the hotel is clean and offers a basic continental breakfast. The two women who run the hotel are a credit to the business making sure everyone is looked after. We had a courtyard room which was small, the bed... More

We have just come home from staying at this hotel for a week,A very clean room with comfortable beds that had lovely clean ironed sheets, staff are all very friendly and are great at answering questions about the area. My partner and I spent a week here, returning to the UK yesterday. Malcesine is completely stunning and the most beautiful place on Lake Garda. The hotel was really good. It is in the centre of the town, 30 metres from the lake. Our room 301 overlooked the castle and lake. It was noisy at night due to the streets... More

I arrived at hotel Modena last Sunday evening to find, by no fault of my own or the hotel itself that my reservation that I had paid through booking.com, had been cancelled by the company that they actually used, low cost holidays, who had gone into administration without notifying us. The hotel was by now full, as was everywhere else... More
