Hotel Modena was a very comfortable hotel in a perfect location, in the centre of Malcesine. Gino and his staff were very welcoming and helpful, without being intrusive, and did their best to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The rooms were large and airy, with fans to keep the rooms pleasant even in July. Everything was very clean...

This hotel is very central and is great value for money. The rooms are quite basic and we found it quite noisy at night (due to the location). There was no AC so it was quite hot. The staff were friendly and rooms were clean.

We stayed at the Hotel Modena on our recent visit to Malcesine. Having visited last year and stayed in a slightly less central hotel it was great to be in such a central location literally on the door step of the castle, and for the money we paid we really thought it was good value. My only complaints really are...

The Hotel Modena is great value for money . Only problem we had was it was noisy at night , this was due to the age and type of property the hotel is. The room we had was over the kitchen and the staff seemed to be in there banging about until 1pm in the morning then starting again at...

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights for a family wedding. The hotel is perfectly located in the centre of Malcesine. Gino is a wonderful host who genuinely cares for his guests and has a wonderful dry sense of humour. The rooms are quite basic but more than adequate and the hospitality more than makes up for it....

The hotel is in a fantastic location just moments from the harbour and located on a lovely street in the heart of things. It's a basic hotel, so don't expect luxury, but it was clean, comfortable and great value. The staff are friendly and welcoming and Gino is a good host. He has a dry sense of humour that some...

Just reliving the wonderful time we had in malcesine and the great hospitality by Gino and his staff; We were there in August 2010 for my sons wedding. Nothing was too much trouble, even providing room service for my mum and a trip in Gino's tup tup when she needed a hospital visit. I would love to return one day...

Stayed here for 4 nights in July 2011 for a family wedding in the castle. We all (party of 4) found it to be an excellent choice and all of us would return. Location - fabulous - in one of the loveliest towns on the lake. Rooms were very clean and were more than adequate - just lacked air conditioning...

I am late in writing this ... apologies. My husband and I travelled to Malcesine by motorbike to attend a friend's wedding in August. We booked into the Modena as a 'cheap and cheerful' option as we were only staying three days. We expected an average hotel, given some of the reviews on here. What we got was a wonderful,...
