Hotel's Favourite
First off to all the people who complain the hotel is dated, get over it! Most of Southern Italy is in 80s -90s mode ,get over it and embrace it and go back to easier ,happier times. With that being said, my party spent 3 great nights here. Rooms were spic and span and overlooked the fantastic pool area. Hotel featured nighttime entertainment by Italian Singer Alan Soul. Shuttles to town ,the statue of Christ and to the hotel beach were clean ,safe and on time. The dinners we had in the hotel were excellent and featured local fish and local cuts of pasta. The food was very high end complimented by excellent wines from Basilicata. The local cake from Martea was great and the Rum baba was the best we ever had. Special kudos to Aurora and Laura at the desk.Aurora is self taught and speaks flawless English. Special thanks to Maitre D Roberto who we knew from a prior stay who made sure to take care of us in an excellent way. He is a true pro and he will take care of you very well. At our meals we were also assisted by "Gino" who also was excellent and took care of us very well. Americans ,skip the Amalfi coast and have some adventure and travel to this beautiful hotel in Maratea!

The room has a fantastic view overlooking the sea and mountains with all comforts up to standards. One can have breakfast on a beautiful terrace and then go down to the hotels private beach were you can relax or go for a kayak trip on crystal waters. You can end your day with a delicious dinner after an aperitiv at the pool garden were professional and helpful staff will take care of you. Electric bikes for rent and SPA services are also available! All thanks to the capable Director Mr Russo !

Don't expect the glamorous side of the 80s. When checking in, you'll certainly notice the 80s decor, which is neverending in this hotel. It's not the nice throwback retro style that's popular these days, but the actual thing.
To update entirely would be so expensive, I guess they're just leaving it this way. In the 80s, this hotel must've been top notch, now it's just old crap and a huge fixer upper.
I still had a nice time; beds were good, view is amazing and there's a nice balcony.
Breakfast is reasonable; if you're into sweet, you'll be happy. If you're longing for warm, fresh bread and all sorts of cheeses, go elsewhere.
Kindness of staff was ok; when checking in, there was a quick hello and key exchange, that was it; no smile, no welcome and certainly no information. Later at the bar downstairs we were treated very nice and kind.
Wi-Fi was too weak in the room, though perfect at the pool. The loud music at the pool was horrendous. What's that all about?!
Would I visit again? No.
If I could turn back time (no pun intended), would I choose the same hotel? Yes, just because of the comfort of the room (great airco!) and the view/location.

This is never a four star hotel. "Grand' is only the price, not the service level, nor the infrastructure or qualitx of food.
The building is very old and looks like a huge colossus from the 1970s.
The greeting at the front desk was cool and burocratic/time-consuming.
In addition to the expensive room prices, the pool towels are charged at € 2 per piece. The pool bar only iserves Sandwiches with ovetsalted ham without vegetables or something healthy.
The rooms have not been renovated in a long time and are very old-fashioned. The photos on the website look fine, but in reality it doesn't look like what it is. The rooms are in poor condition, e.g. the water fittings are very strict and are even broken.
Breakfast is absolutely not acceptable. It consists just very cheap food. No local fruits or cheese is served here.
What you notice very quickly here is that you are treated very arrogantly as a customer and that the employees are rarely trained or do their things in a friendly manner.
We will definitely never book here again here, but next time book a small family-run hotel.

The only photo which is accurate is of the pool. It was nice. Everything else was tired and cheap. The service was sloppy, the food inedible and they charge for everything - water, pool towels, the shuttle bus to the beach - everything. The rooms had cheap and worn bedding, the furniture was scuffed.
They also allow dogs so a large German Shepherd barked to wake us in the morning and was left unattended by its owners in the room.
It is also 11 km out of the village, so very isolated.

We stayed here for two weeks in July, I'd have rated It 4/5 except that the animation was the worst ever seen, ti the point of endangering Kids. I'd strongly reccomend ti change the provider because the perosnell was clearly not qualified nor had any interesse in perfoing the job well.
If you are a family looking for some relax you May want to find a different place.
On a minor note the take away lunch on the lasr day was a bad joke, poor and badly prepared.

We were at the hotel for a family wedding and so we really tried all services and facilities. The view is unique for the standards of Maratea, and the rooms are comfortable and very clean. We were also very pleased with the food, but what really made a difference was the kindness and customer orientation of the staff, from the youngest waiter all the way up to the middle and upper management. Special thanks to Roberto and Roberta.

Wow in 2 years this hotel has fallen dramatically. Stayed 4 night .eStill hs a nice pool and rooms are delivered clean except with some mildew in the corner of the shower in both our rooms. Hotel is run down. Its one thing to be old and dated, its another to be totally obsolete like the ripped and dirty outdoor carpet on the outside dining veranda. Food this time was awful. Breakfast was terrible. I felt bad for Maitre d Roberto having to work in such rundown conditions. The director walks around all day looking bedufddled and nothing gets fixed or repaired. One of the girls at the desk had a bit of an attitude. Good pool ,clean room and sheets but thats where it ends. Its a shame because the location is excellent. They cater to what appears to be upper income people and the should do much better !

We visited during a rather wet may so sadly we weren’t able to enjoy the outside pool area which looked nice if outdated. The entire hotel was stuck in the 80’s - facilities largely clean but very tired looking. The hotel is in need of modernisation (facilitators and style). The rooms were spacious and had a lovely balcony with sea view , but again the bathroom was outdated and grotty. This is a good place to stay for a night or two but I would not choose to stay for longer. There is little to do in the area.

The hotel is big, but you can see that it is old. It's clean, but looks like it's stuck in a different era. Probably 30-40 years ago this was a top travel destination.
The food in the hotel was very good and the view from the window. However, the beach is quite far away so you have to use the hotel shuttle which is not always available

The cost is of € 2.00 per person, each way and is on request and when you wish.
