The entrance and staff were exceptional. Their breakfast was great. The room was antiquated and the lighting was very poor. Also the shower tub required you to step up an additional 6 inches above the tub wall because it was on a platform or something similar in order to get

We stayed at the Grand Hotel Plaza in early March as part of the Gate 1 Fly and Drive package. First, the town of Montecatini Terme is absolutely charming. The hotel itself is perfectly located right on the main plaza and in close proximity to the train station, some great

This hotel is perfect location! Located on the main square, it’s surrounded by bars, restaurants, and shops. It’s also just a few minute walk to the train station. The best part about this hotel though is the kind, friendly, helpful staff that work here. Every employee we

We stayed at this hotel for five nights in February. This is an older, classic hotel with beautiful public areas. The staff was very helpful for the most part. If you are planning to stay here and have a rental car (included in our trip package with Gate 1) be prepared. There is

We are staying in Montecatini for a week in early March at the Grand Plaza Hotel. It’s me, my husband and my nine year old daughter and we are so excited for our trip. It’s our first trip to Italy. We will be doing a few day trips, with Montecatini as our home base. We have a few questions about the hotel and town. 1. We will be driving in but plan to keep the car parked at or near the hotel for the week. Where should we park and is there a fee? 2. We would like to plan a few guided day tours, including one wine tasting tour and one cooking class. Does the hotel offer a tour service on site to book these trips? Or should we book in advance? Because March is off season, we are having a hard time finding available group tours online and and are having a hard time finding a reasonably priced private tour while looking online. 3. We will likely have dinner a few nights at restaurants that are in walking distance of the hotel. Are there any good recommended restaurants that we can walk to? Would it be recommended to have dinner in Montecatini Alto one night? 4. Are there any other activities or things to do with our nine year old daughter in Montecatini? For example a cooking class, etc. 5. We plan to take the train to Florence one day and to Pisa another day. How far of a walk is the train station? Are there any tips we need to know before taking the train? Thank you for any advice you can provide!
Dear Heather, Thank you for your e-mail. It will be our pleasure to host you soon. I am sure that you and your family will enjoy your Tuscan holidays. Here below you can find answers to your questions. 1. Our hotel is located on Piazza del Popolo, the main square in town. As the square has been recently restructured and covered with marble the nearest parking places are located about 30 meters from the hotel in the adjoining streets. There is also a parking lot next to the hotel on Piazza XX Settembre where you can easily find many parking spots. You can also leave your vehicle parked in Via San Martino, which is located behind the hotel. The car must be parked in the spaces delimited by blue lines on the road. Parking requires a payment from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm. both for weekdays and for holidays. We suggest you request a daily parking ticket of € 3,50 from the front desk. 2. There are tours being organized from Montecatini ( with shuttle bus that takes you to Florence ) with agency MY TOUR you can check it and you can book it upon your arrival ( as it is low season there is no need that you book it in advance and it leaves you space to be more flexible ) 3. Here in Montecatini there are many nice restaurants in walking distance so you will have a nice choice. Eating dinner in Montecatini Alto is definitely a must 😊 Again no need to book more that a day in advance 4. Regarding activities for kids there is a Ferris wheel and a Termeland ( playground for kids ) 5. Train station Montecatini Centro is located 200 meters from the hotel ( less than 2 minute walk ) You can buy tickets or in the machine at the train station or in tobacco shop. Remember to validate the ticket at the train station before you enter the train. I hope that I could help you. Do not hesitate to contact us for eventual queries that you may have. Looking forward to hosting you soon.

Is there parking and can I request a quiet room?
Hi Liz, Thank you for your message. We suggest you request a daily parking pass for € 3,50 from the front desk ( it is much more convenient than paying in the parking meters) Regarding quite room, please send us request by e-mail
