We flew from Dublin on the early flight and chose to save money on the airport /hotel transfer (120€) and get the Pisamover shuttle to train station and two trains. The airport staff will happily print you out a route but don’t explain that the shuttle is out the main door, turn left and walk for 100 yards to a building with lifts. The train stations were busy and until you figured out which platform and how to get to it, it was challenging. Remember to leave the train at Montecatini Centro not Terme as the walk to the hotel is a fair distance with suitcases in the glorious Italian sun. Our welcome to Hotel Torretta was fabulous! The owners, Dante and Gabriel were so lovely… our room key was attached to a fabulous big golden stone with 110 on it. Room 110 was on the first floor with a balcony overlooking the beautiful garden and pool. There is a mini fridge which held the litre bottles of water we bought in the nearby supermarket (which isn’t open on Sundays.) The room was spotless and the shower was super. (I would have preferred separate body wash and shampoo) Our breakfasts were eaten out on the terrace every morning. Delicious, and one of the breakfast staff makes an amazing cappuccino! We ate dinner in the restaurant on the first evening, the salmon melted in my mouth and my husband’s wild boar was equally mouth-watering. We made great use of the pool (don’t forget mosquito repellent) and on the one rainy morning sat out on the front garden terrace with Prosecco and our iPads. We really did have the most fabulous time in Tuscany and Montecatini Terme but our stay in Hotel Torretta played an enormous part. This isn’t just a hotel, it’s an Italian family welcoming you into their beautiful home. (We couldn’t bear to repeat the public transport experience on the way to the airport for 8am so Gabriel booked us a taxi!)

Hotel's Favourite
The hotel is situated on walking distance from the stunning park where the Roman Terme bath can be visited. The hotel is run by a lovely family, and the level of service and personal touches is high. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. The style of the hotel is retro and takes you right back to the sixties, though the hotel is fully up to date when it comes to the facilities. Wifi is stabile all around the hotel. The rooms are tidy, air conditioned and furnished with the basic needs. Beds are hard, but not unpleasant. The rooms are being tidied on a daily basis and every single employee you meet is friendly and says Bon Giorno with a smile (even though they are all still wearing face masks). Meals are varied and Italian style, with several courses. Lots of fresh fruit and veggies every day, which is lovely. The staff in the breakfast / dinner hall are friendly and swift. I did miss having a water cooker in my room. I would have like to make myself a cup of coffee or tea at my own convenience. Living in Scandinavia I'm used to drinking coffee from a mug. There's no coffee machine on the lobby either, which would have been a plus. A cup of coffee can be bought at the bar. Drinks are priced reasonably condering it's a hotel. Let's face it, there's nothing like a Martini Spritz to start your evening with. The hotel's swimming pool is pleasantly quiet and equipped with comfortable sunbathing chairs. (Mind the pool shower, it's well hidden behind some trees at the far end of the pool.) The first fresh bathing towel is included, renewing pool towels at €5 per towel. There is a mini market just two blocks away from the hotel wich sells most things you need. I am looking forward to my next stay. Don't hesitate, this is a hotel stay you will enjoy.

Just outstanding once again. Great to be back after three years and see all of the family doing well. Location is superb with a little walk through the park to the centre where there’s lots of good restaurants. Buffet breakfast is great and service is superb. We got a superior room which was beautiful along with the views from the balcony. Pool is as great as ever. Just feels like home!

This charming hotel offers all you could wish for on a holiday in Tuscany. Staff are friendly, polite and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The pool was clean and inviting, a must on a hot afternoon. The garden areas offer sunshine and shade and staff brought drinks out if you ordered them. The dining room was spacious and the menu catered for all dietary needs. Table service was prompt and efficient and buffet breakfast offered a wide range of choices. The hotel are able to arrange taxis for airport collection and drop off at a reasonable price. The accommodation is well appointed and scrupulously clean. Overall a wonderful stay and l would happily come back again. Thank you to the hotel staff for their care and attention.

Fantastic holiday!! Staff are super friendly and helpful. They helped book a restaurant for us and find the time our taxi back to the airport with no trouble. Lovely little pool and jacuzzi is great for relaxing during the day. It does seem to get a little busier around the weekends but there were no issues securing a lounger. Lots of restaurants and bars within a stones throw distance and a beautiful cable train ride up to the old town with a great view and the top and more restaurants to choose from. Tennis fans will be well pleased that there is a prestigious tennis club 5 mins down the road. At the time they were holding a regional tournament and the standard was excellent - they were not snooty at all about is being there, instead they were very welcoming. I also had a lesson with one of the coaches for a reasonable price. Would definitely return!

My friends and I stayed here in May’22. It was great value and we had a fabulous time. The hotel is located about a 10 /15 minute walk from the quaint little town, that has plenty of shops, great coffee shops, lots of things to see and do, great transport links, plus the best gelato shop! All of the staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel has a lovely, relaxed vibe, and the food was lovely, with generally a good choice. My favourite course was generally the pasta! Our room was very comfortable, with a lovely balcony over looking the pool, and a proper fridge was great. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

It is the dedicated staff off this older, family-managed hotel that provides a very comfortable home base for any traveler who wants to explore Tuscany. Breakfast is varies and plentiful and dinners feature regional, excellent cooking. The room was quiet, the pool area is very relaxing, and I can highly recommend this establishment to anybody exploring this beautiful area. Please note, that the bathroom is quite small, and the shower may flood the bathroom floor. But this is really a minor problem.

This review is long overdue, we stayed here in the summer of 2021 and havent been able to stop thinking about this place. The hotel is run by a family who understand hospitality and what it is all about, genuine smiles & excellent service. To be fair, the property could use an upgrade and is a bit outdated but with the amazing service of the staff and how they go above & beyond for you, it doesnt really matter. We spent most of our time at the pool, which is perfect. The staff even prepared a breakfast for us as 5am when we had to drive back home to the netherlands! Too sweet. Thank you Torretta family for your warm and genuine hospitality
