Il Meuble di Riccio is a good place to stay but I wouldn't rate it as highly as many other reviewers have. My wife and I are fit people in our sixties who regard walking less than 25000 steps a day as slothful. But be warned. It is a long uphill walk from the bus stops and then there are... More

I spent two weeks at Il Sasso in Montepulciano this summer as a much-needed "sabbatical" from 3 teenagers. I cannot say enough about the kindness of Gio and his family. They made sure that I had everything I needed and were always available. The location was fabulous... at night, I'd open the windows and listen to the local folk rehearsing... More

We stayed 3 nights in late September. The hotel is in a great location and has all of the amenities you need. Our room was smaller, but clean and quaint. The only difficult part was showering in the tiny shower, but again, just part of the experience and not really a negative at all. Gio and his family made us... More

We felt like this provided us a genuine Italian Experience. Large quiet room, closet and bathroom. Breakfast, views, setting, building, location all very nice. Especially the 'setting', very ancient traditional-feeling setting, building was steeped in history, you could tell it was centuries old and well-built, the marble staircase looked original and had a gradual dip in the middle of each... Great Location. Beautiful view. Room was clean and roomy. Breakfast was exceptional. The owners were extremely friendly. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Difficult to find the parking. GPS and preplanning my route was crucial.

We had high expectations of Meuble il Riccio, but the experience was so much better. We woke up to sunrise and church bells, with a remarkable view of rooftops and fields. The breakfast was plentiful, and highlights were freshly baked crostata by Ivana and cappuccino with a smiley face. Gio and Ivana were welcoming hosts, and share the history of... More

Gio and his wife Ivana run this intimate hotel with obvious devotion and style. You feel as if they have invited you into their centuries old, but practically and tastefully updated, palace. Great location. Great stay. If you are driving, ask for one of the parking stalls on level ground. Manouvering in tight corners on steep hills with a clutch... More

This is a very cute place with a nice location by the main square. It is quieter in this part as many of the day trippers are unable or unwilling to make their way up the long hill to this spot. Rather than call it a hotel, I think the term "really nice house" is preferable - as this is... More
