The food is good and I tasted traditional local dishes. The dining room staff was also available to find solutions for those in the group who had allergies or intolerances. Average breakfast with homemade cakes and products also for celiacs.

At the pool restaurant they were still serving so we sat down and ordered salads and some fried fish and my goodness the service and the food were excellent!!
The place is really lovely.
We stayed at this hotel! Comfortable and clean room!
Friendly staff! Very good food! Family and relaxing atmosphere!
We felt at home... Parking space always available...
It was pleasant to swim in the pool...

We'd say that there were only two good things in the hotel. The restaurant, that serve good dishes at an affordable price, and an acceptable pool.
Our recommendation as a traveling couple would be to choose another one.
• The pool looked nice although we didn't use it.
• The breakfast was varied.
• The hotel was quiet once in the rooms.
• Large car park.
Cons:
• The hotel seemed more like a truckers' stop than a hotel.
• The staff weren't very friendly and we were made to feel like we were an inconvenience which was a shame. We were also told the wrong time of which the main door was locked so ended up being locked out. But after knocking we were let in.
• The room was OK, spacious, but the decor was dated, particularly the bathroom ('70s). The bathroom had no ventilation and there was quite a stench which seemed to get worse after it had been cleaned. Whether it's the cleaning products, I don't know. The smell seemed to fix itself into our clothes as well.
• It was about a 15-minute drive to Orbetello, no restaurants nearby as it's on the side of a dual-carriageway.
If possible I would try to get something in Orbetello or on Monte Argentario.

The Vecchia is a true budget hotel, but manages to raise above the genre in several ways. There is free covered parking, and pool and playground within the landscaped grounds. The lobby is warm and cheerful, with two television / entertainment areas, a bar, and a small grocery and souvenier store. The desk clerk did not speak English, but understood the details in the reservation printout, and quickly checked me in, handing me both a key and a TV remote for the room. *
The rooms are up a flight of stairs (there is no lift) and are, in every sense of the word, institutional. Rooms are tiled floors and plaster walls with budget chairs and a 12" TV, echoing and cold. The blankets and towels are thin. The window had a shutter over it to keep out light and road noise: small holes provided ventilation. There is no internet connection available. However, the room is clean, well lit, the water is abundant and hot, the area is quiet and there is an in-room safe. *
In contrast, the dining room downstairs is quite good. The waiter spoke english, and helped to translate the menu. The pasta was very good, and the filet was well cooked and seasoned. They provided a good quality glass of wine, all at a very reasonable price. *
In summary, this is a clean budget accomodation with a good restaurant on premisis. It's a convenient waypoint an hour from the Rome airport, and makes a good overnight waypoint.
