I am finally writing this, I didn't want to because it meant admitting I wasn't there anymore and that I didn't live there, I wasn't Dani's sister and couldn't go back tomorrow and hug Miles the lovely Labrador! Antica Olivaia is heaven on earth. It is a small Agriturismo nestled on a perfect Umbrian Hillside, overlooking the most perfect of...

We stayed with Marco and Daniela for 3 nights in April 2016. We toured Italy for 6 weeks and this was one of our very favorite places. The country location just outside of Orvieto (city can be seen, on a hill, across a small valley from the B&B) is lovely. Our large room was perfect, the breakfast was delicious each...

The "agri-turismso" is in a converted rustic farmhouse that actually overlooks the medieval town of Orvieto in the distance. The owners, Daniela and Marco were always the perfect hosts. Marco would cook evening meals and a culinary maestro he is. Daniela would ensure that all the guests were made to feel at home. Together, they orchestrate an environment for their...

Daniela and Marco are fantastic! Their cooking, their hospitality, their local knowledge are all superb. The rooms are wonderfully authentic and charming, from linens to decorations to furnishings, they are all exquisite. Of course the pets are a delight. Marco's dinner was absolutely fabulous and the truffles were to die for. The creme de la creme are the digestives. Amazingly...

My wife and I stayed at Antica for a week this past October. It was our third time visiting with Daniela and Marco and we will definitely be back for more. You are not treated like a guest here, you are treated like a member of the family. The situation is incredible, views to die for, the beds are extremely...

One of the joys of staying in a bed and breakfast is meeting other travelers and the hosts. The wonderful dinner (cooked by Marco) and shared with the other guests was very special. Another highlight is sitting outside overlooking the beautiful city of Orvieto. The countryside is beautiful and very peaceful and it was only a 30 minute leisurely drive...

We spend 2 nights in mid-October at Antica Olivia, a wonderful oasis in the hills overlooking Orvieto. We chose the spot because we wanted to explore Umbria and it was close to Orvieto. And what a wise choice! Stylish, extremely comfortable and quiet rooms, with views onto the hills and gardens. Beautiful grounds with olive groves and peaceful nook and...

Marco and Daniella are engaging and delightful hosts who went out of their way to help make our stay in Orvieto a memorable one. The property has been beautifully restored and is immaculately maintained. It is located in the countryside, so is quiet with beautiful views of surrounding farms and Orvieto in the distance. The breakfasts were tasty, plentiful, with...

My wife and I spent four idyllic days in this beautifully renovated farmhouse early Sept 2016. We were looking for a quiet, charming base from which to enjoy the Umbrian countryside and its earthy food. We found that and more. The room was surprisingly modern and spacious. Daniela and Marco are knowledgeable, helpful and friendly, and both widely traveled -...

Beautiful property, wonderful view, lovely pool, charming hosts, handsome dog. We wanted to start our trip off with a relaxing stay, and it was perfect. Only complaint was the biting horse flies at the pool. Hope to be back

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Agriturismo Antica Olivaia is a charming 17th century stone farmhouse nestled in a protected nature reserve and located near the ancient hill town of Orvieto. This recently restored country inn offers its guests six spacious rooms with en suite bathrooms, a beautiful private pool and breathtaking views of Orvieto and the Umbrian countryside. Conveniently located between three of Italy's most beautiful regions, it is the ideal place from which to discover the extraordinary Umbrian countryside and many towns such as Civita di Bagnoregio, Todi, Perugia, Assisi, Montefalco, Spoleto, Montepulciano, Montalcino, and Pienza. The owners, Marco and Daniela, prepare dinner 3 times a week for their limited number of guests and meals are eaten together family style on the veranda under the stars. Informal cooking lessons can also be organized in the afternoons usually in conjunction with dinners. Marco, Daniela and their furry friends look forward to welcoming you to the Antica Olivaia...A slow farm for a slow life! ... more   less
