Mrs Jessica and Mr Jude were exceptional. Jessica was great with emails (in English) before we arrived. Jessica’s local recommendations were fantastic. Mr Jude was also extremely welcoming and very kind to our son. There cannot be better hosts in Orvieto. We definitely recommend. Thank
The Palazzo has been transformed into a very comfortable hotel while maintaning all the charms of the aristocratic lifestyle of former days. The rooms have all the amenities for a great stay and it’s worth spending a bit more on a room with a terrace to enjoy the late or the early hours of Orvieto. The breakfast has a great spread including the local specialty pastry, lumachella, a savory roll with pieces of bacon. And despite being full on a July weekend, the Palazzo was super reasonably priced, an excellent option in Orvieto.
It was during the “break from COVID” period in September 20. We found the last couple of rooms in a palace outside the main hotel and I think that we were lucky as they were great abs spacious All well maintained and clean. The staff were helpful and most of all they smiled a lot! A special mention to Mr Jude (don’t know his surname) as he made us feel welcome from the very first phone call Nice breakfast and plenty of food We will definitely go back when travelling to that area Well done!
Spent 2 nights in gorgeous Orvieto on our way home to Milan this past summer. We selected this hotel based on reviews concerning cleanliness and anti-Covid measures. We were not disappointed and we felt safe, especially in the breakfast room, where all possible measures were taken to protect guests, from social distancing with tables set far apart, to controlled and safe food service. The hotel itself is beautifully positioned in the heart of Orvieto, so easy to walk to all of the major sights! Parking was an added bonus and was a breeze. You can literally drive up to the entrance, and the car is valet parked for you at a nearby garage, and then delivered back to you at time of departure! The room was a little small, as was the bathroom (could do with some rennovations) , but we were pleased with the overall cleanliness. This hotel gets my overall approval because it ticked a lot of the boxes for us and staying there made our stay in Orvieto that much nicer!…
The Palazzo Piccolomini is a lovely building. It is located in Orvieto’s center and therefore it’s a good location to stop by. The staff are very kind and helpful. However, the room I had was not up to the standard. The bathroom was worse than a 1 star hotel (see pictures). That kind of bathroom and shower box cannot be rated 4 stars. I find that unfortunate because the hotel has great potential and it is a lovely building. Breakfast was very good. But staff was lacking. So we had to wait a while to ask for a cappuccino. Unfortunately there were also some rude people who did not have their face masks on during breakfast (they were at the buffet without masks) and that is not Covid compliant. Staff did not tell them anything. Overall I enjoyed my stay but would not return. Certainly if rooms were refurbished my judgement would change since staff was nice and the location too. …
