The hotel was centrally located near a train station with nearby restaurants, a bakery that sold pizza and clothing stores. Our room was small but clean and had been newly remodeled so everything was new and fresh. A good value for the price right in the heart of a local Italian community.

A 10 minute walk from the railway station, if lost ask at the police station on the way. More like a upmarket B&B. Family run with an excellent restaurant serving traditional Italian meals. Good wine list also. Breakfast more than enough. My room was large and clean and what's more a shower and a large bath. Excellent value.

This is a great place to visit (for a day?) We arrived by train and easy 10 minute walk to Hotel which looks a bit 'Urban' but is clean and tidy with a restaurant which is authentic and serves very nice meals. The trip up the Cable car is definatly well worthwhile and the old town on the top is...

The room was quiet and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. There were shutters on the windows which kept the street noise and heat out of the room. The staff were helpful in advising us about the local public transport and the method of getting up to the historic city. In the old city up on the plateau the cathedral of...

...on our way to the south.Orvieto is very convenient if you want to avoid dining at the odd Autogrills and Hotel Umbria is just 5 min. from the highway and offers very good lunch menus for a very reasonable price. Pastas were ample and very good, the beefsteak would have deserved to have been left maturing for another week or...

Stayed here after a last minute change we decided to make on our two month trek through Italy. Wanted to visit Orvieto but didn't want to stay at the top and this place was reasonably priced and fairly easy parking. I was a bit worried after reading reviews but it was better than anticipated. That being said, here goes. Small...

Location is good...close enough to the highway, and 5-10 min. walk to the train station / funicular. Good grocery store close by. Hotel itself was nothing to write home about. It was a bit dated, though reasonably clean. WIFI was poor at best. Breakfast was the worst we had in 2 weeks in Italy. Happy to leave after 2 nights....

We booked this hotel based on the reviews here, ie it was in a great location, handy to everything; it was very clean and good value. What a surprise. From the outside it was obviously not in a great location on a busy road several kilometres from Orvieto and it looked particularly grimy. But we had booked and paid in...

If you want an authentic Italian hotel experience, this is it! The staff are very friendly and helpful, the hotel is in walking distance of many interesting parts of Orvieto, including the rail way to Orvieto Alto, which you don't want to miss either. The Hotel Umbria is very clean and well equiped, and the ristorante has a great menu....

pros: - near the autostrada - very reasonable cost for parking - good food in the restaurant - short walk (5 to 10 minutes) from the funicular to reach the city - good price cons: - rooms facing the street could be noisy - interior is dated - rooms have the basics but not much more - air conditioning was...
