We had a wonderful stay at the Castello. The room was very comfortable, the view was amazing and the breakfast was excellent. A few upgrades in the bedding and towels with better quality items would make a big difference. The road to get there is not the best as it's quite small and not in great shape but once you get used to it is fine. We had dinner at the hotel one night and we found it to be a bit expensive for what they offer, 5 euros for a spritz seemed a bit steep. Other than that it was a wonderful place to spend a few days.

This is 8th year we return to the Castello di San Sergio, a confirmation of our love for this b&b and our second home. Vincenzo, Silvia, Maria, and Olga make up the team that define the uniqueness of this b&b. These individuals are cordial and irreplaceable, in that they contribute substantially to the atmosphere of the Castello. The modern-day storyteller Vincenzo possesses an ability to captivate his audience while conveying important touristic information to his guests. The cure of the delightful garden is somewhat analogous to the garden of Windsor Castle. An immense applause to Silvia and her green thumb. Additionally, it is Silvia who prepares a wide selection of exquisite homemade cakes and marmelades for breakfast. We also came to learn this year she produces finocchietto, a local digestive. A word of caution: Once you experience the Castello di San Sergio, you may find yourself returning year after year….. Ernest and Roberta

The other reviewers got it right! Our stay at Castello di San Sergio was fantastic! The host Vincenzo, along with his sister and mother and warm staff, made our stay magical. Clean, large rooms with great amenities inside, but a breathtaking view from the garden and terrace. Wonderful tips for touring the Palinuro region. Great choices of local wines to accompany delicious charcuterie boards in the evening. Peaceful breakfasts with changing pastries each morning outside to soak up the view. What else can be said except we can’t wait to return!

Room Tip: You definitely need a car to explore. Make time for the Palinuro area beaches, the bottom ruins...

First time ever in Cilento and through TA we landed in this location. We got a so precious support/guidance by the owner - Vincenzo - on the “to do list”. Where to go, what to visit, where to eat (reservation included) were always perfectly fitting with our wishes and needs. Charming room, Palinuro outstanding view, delicious breakfast and evening chat in the garden complete the rest. L’immenso.

Mr. Federico, thanks for the review first. It was nice to make your acquaintance, and thank you very much for your wife's valuable advice and for giving me a hand, even though you were on vacation, to solve the TV problem. I will always carry you in my heart and for me you will always be the IMMENSE. Thanks thanks thanks. Vincenzo.

My wife and I decided to go on holiday by the coastal area of Palinuro. We did not know where to stay but in reviewing a few options on-line, we identified the Castello di San Sergio at Centola. The owners of the Castello, Vincenzo and his mother, graciously greeted us upon our arrival and showed us our room with a spectacular view of the Gulf of Palinuro. Our room was charming. The breakfast was abundant and included home-made pastries which was a real delight. Vincenzo was always available for questions and suggestions which contributed to a delightful stay. His suggestions on where we should eat, the beaches we should visit, and the historical sites to see were priceless. I sum, I would recommend this B&B without hesitation to anyone wishing to explore the Cilento region from an insider’s perspective.

The views from the Castello San Sergio are amazing, overlooking the Palinuro coast. The house and garden are beautiful, could do with some more attention to the detail. Breakfast was good gets very boring after a couple of days, therefore some more variety could do a great job.

Il castello di San Sergio is a hidden gem in the heart of Cilento National Park. The breathtaking view from this b&b is just one of the many little amazing things this place can offer. I was delighted by the structure itself, which is surprisingly modern even if the ancient building is perfectly preserved, and by the wonderful hospitality of the owners. Vincenzo is the man who can transform your holiday into an unforgettable adventure in Palinuro ( thank you very much for this). While his mother prepares delicious handmade fruit preserves which are served at breakfast together with other local products. This is, I believe, the real “Italian experience”. All in all, I genuinely think that what this place and its surrounding must be visited at least once in a lifetime.

Love this hotel it is A perfect place. But the most important thing is the service. We ask for an umbrella at the terrace and a few hours later it was already there. Thanks for that. Thanks Antonio at lunch and breakfasts you where very nice. Like all the others. Barman is also top professional. But the best is the lady who’s cleaning the rooms. I stayed in many 5 star hotels but she is really the best ever. Thank you so much Hope to meet you all again and of course the beautiful designed by an architect hotel.

This is a wonderful retreat. Our party of seven had three rooms, and all were great. Your hosts are available and helpful. The terrace breakfast is wonderful - you'll enjoy a perfect cappuccino and a nice meal with a world-class view. The location is great to explore the surrounding area. Palinuro is a nice beach community, and the ruins at Velia are not to be missed. We highly recommend this property.

We stayed 4 days in Castello di San Sergio. The first place for b&b in Palinuro is well deserved based on the stunning views over the Cilento coast and country and the warm old Italian agri-aristocrat but certainly not too formal armosphere. Breakfast in the garden outside is very special and the adjecent little tower dependance we stayed in was a true relaxing place and a well equiped room. It's à few km outside Palinuro and takes some nerves in driving the last 500m uphill.
