The King hotel is a real gem! The view from the outside was below my expectations, but once I stepped outside the car I felt immediately being on Holiday. Light and airy, and very spacious and also very welcoming. The staff throughout the hotel were very professional, friendly and extremely helpful. The location of the hotel is great. A perfect combo between traditional and delicious food with outstanding beach right in front of the hotel. The room we had was very spacious and well equipped with all essentials. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to visitors to Palinuro. One of the main suggestion is to try the traditional food on the beach with a pint of beer... and at the end close your eyes and feel the summer' s vibes!

We stayed as part of a tour group. Overall it’s ok with great views but the rooms are dated and tired, airconditioning is next to useless and the breakfast is very average compared to most other places we’ve stayed in last two weeks in Italy.

We recently planned our Italian wedding (2nd wedding) at the King's Residence Hotel. We planned our wedding from Australia and had my husband's parents meet face to face with the event planner to discuss all our options. The location was amazing but all other aspects were very average. We found the level of service from the event planner to be lacking in all aspects. For example we told Louisa three times that I was gluten free and when we came for our trial menu nothing was informed to the chef. The chef however was understanding and created a great menu for our wedding. As we did our tour of the hotel we noticed and informed the staff that a toilet seat was broken in the reception area and there was no soap or paper towels. We were informed that this would be fixed before the day however when we arrived that morning nothing had been fixed. On the wedding day my husband also delivered two bottle of coke light to the bar for out reception; paid for by us. The staff then lost both of these bottles with.one never being returned. Before the wedding we asked if we could view the bridal suite as the hotel had offered us a complementary suite. They refused to show us stating that they make the suite special for bridal. When we arrived our suite was not a suite just an ordinary room which was very disappointing considering all the fuss they had made. Finally regarding the level of hotel service for general guests. We had five rooms booked for family and friends and found that during there stay there were no staff at the bar. We also found that the restaurant does not serve lunch and requires you to walk down 400 steps to the beach to eat which is difficult with two young children. Overall our guests were not happy with the lack of service or the dated rooms. If this hotel does not improve it will not last long.

£170 for the night!! What a F@#! rip off the state of this hotel was horrific I’ve stayed in better holiday Inn’s at £40 a night. It’s so dated I can’t ever explain hopefully the pictures will explain it better, when I spoke to the manager and said I want my money back for a suite or any thing better than what I had she showed me a room that was £230 a night and I laughed in her face I couldn’t believe how they have got away with this for so long when she said ‘look at how many bookings we have got’ there was more empty rooms than booked ones and for the time of year in August as for the location of this place it should be fully booked, it needs at least half a million if not more on renovating this hotel. Don’t book it!!!

It is true the views are great, the rooms are clean but very dated. But oh what an attitude problem! They only switch on the aircon in July apparently... breakfast was pretty limited and apparently no more English breakfast tea bags until July too. Our friends were ripped off E10 for a 2 minute transfer. Lots of notices about being quiet, but staff did nothing to quieten a very loud drunken party in the evening that could be heard throughout the hotel until very late.I think it is the way the staff interact with customers that just lets this place down in my view; the fact that every question generates a negative response and a snear just gives the impression that they just don’t care.

Short of a hotel for the mega rich on the Amalfi coast you won't get a better view. Our tour group clearly got an early season special because we are not in the price league that TripAdvisor is quoting. The pool was still empty and gazebos were being erected but for our one night it was a pleasant stay. The staff seemed pleased to serve us. The walk down to the beach was not bad and the water was bearable even in April. The room was big as was the bathroom; and slso the shower; unusual for Italy. It is a fair hike to the town but we found a delightful restaurant for lunch very near.

This hotel is a hidden gem in a truly beautiful location. The simple rooms are spotless and the staff can't do enough to make your stay as special as possible. If you're looking for a stunning location, fabulous Italian hospitality, delicious locally produced food and cheeky cocktails, it's perfect! A torch-lit walk down the 400+ steps to our candle-lit private celebration at Pirate's Cove was a magical experience - complete with boat transfers back to the hotel in the dead of night. If you're looking for a stereotypical corporate 4*, it's not for you. Otherwise.... race you to the Beach!!

Amazing location/ view and one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been. However the hotel is outdated, older decor, no wifi in the rooms, tiny TV's, and AC only in July and August. Average breakfast. Very nice staff. Great pool. Great beach bar.
