Great atmosphere, clean and tidy rooms. We spent a week in August with my husband. We were warmly welcomed by the manager who does a great job here; a true sample of excellent hospitality. The staff was extremely friendly, the restaurant very flexible (appreciate this!) and the food was excellent (we always asked for a bis!) Note, this is not a 4/5-star hotel or so, but the atmosphere is so special that it really felt like home to me. It is well worth trying!
My boss told me: “We will go to Palinuro to finish our projects”, at that time i hoped that it will be a quiet place to work. I was delighted to find not only a wonderful location where working has been a pleasure due to the absence of noice and commotion, even thought it was located at the center of the city. The food was amazing and the sea side was beautiful as well. The city had an air of classic mediteranian culture, the sea side was amazing with gorgeous beaches and very beautiful scenery. We were located in the hotel Le Tre Caravelle and everything was perfectly arranged, from lovely food to amazing coffee! I would like to thank Mauro and all the staff for their suggestions and help. Comming from Greece, a hospitable country, i found they whole experience lovely, and i would definitely visit that place again or even suggest it to whoever want to see the Italian country away from the big cities.…
The Tre Caravelle is a small family run hotel situated in an Idylic Italian village that no one knows exists! I have been travelling to Palinuro with groups of friends for 5 years and have stayed in a number of Hotels. I go for the diving which is in itself a treasure of the south of Italy. Situated about 100 miles south of Naples it is a well kept secret where only Italians holiday and then only in August the rest of the summer the place is empty yet the beaches are brilliant for young and older alike and the town friendly and inviting. We have used the Tre Caravelle three times now and it just gets better each time we get there. The Hotelier Signore Nicola speaks no English but more than makes up for it with his friendly hospitality, nothing is too much. The hotel is frequented by a lot of divers as the Palinuro Sub dive centre run by Fabio and his team is situated there but is equally home to couples and families who are simply visiting Palinuro for it's beauty. The Diving is exceptional and worth trying by anyone. The Place is stunning with beautiful sunsets and an atmosphere that is second to none. The hotel has undergone a great deal of work with a new terrace that overlooks the street making it noisy but just soaks up an atmosphere that typifies Italy. Rooms are spacious and Clean and food is traditional and plentiful. Who could want more? Transport is also available and we booked a coach through the hotel for our group which proved very cost effective.…
Stayed in this budget hotel in April and I enjoyed it so much (and the diving off Palinuro!) that I decided to come back for a long weekend with the girlfriend! It hadn't changed at all, apart from the fact that it was busier and had a couple of extra staff floating around. Having a double room this time (I was on my own last time), we were pleaseantly surprised by the fact that it was a triple room (a double and a single bed) and, therefore, a nice, large room - it even had a balcony, although this was tiny! Our room overlooked the streetm (which we didn't really mind), but those on the other side of the corridor overlook the sea so it might be worth requesting this in advance. Dinner was nice, although a bit basic (it was just two starters, two mains and a set desert, although we were only paying £35 full board, after all) as was lunch - the main problem at meal times was trying to decipher the menu, in the end we gave up and just ordered one of everything! Again the only disappointment was breakfast, being the same, VERY basic affair that it was last time! I can only conclude that this is because it is predominantly aimed at Italians and they don't care for breakfast that much! The staff were still as friendly as last time I visited - although, being with company this time, I didn't end up having the funny sign language conversations as last time (apart from when I wanted to order something). It was a great base for our diving holiday and I would recommend it for anyone who just wants a hotel as a base to work from - being a budget hotel with no pool, etc. …
