Stating the good things first, optimal location and quality of the rooms. I stayed at the king suite (c.500€/night) and customer service at breakfast was proper of a 2* hotel. The girl at reception desk, was the cooker and the waiter at the same time. It was very inefficient and she even had a bad reaction with me when she brought scrambled eggs that I did not order as they were not included in the room price. Also, I was expecting to stay at Conca d’Oro as I booked the room through their website. I was not told that the room was in a separate building until I booked and paid for the room. Really frustrating bearing in mind that La Bizantina was understaffed. I don’t think I will come back to this hotel. Antonio M.

La Bizantina was a lovely surprise! This is a former residential villa, located about 600 steps to the beach so midway in Positano - and very comfortably and beautifully decorated. La Bizantina is a sister property to Hotel Conca D'oro, and when we were guests at La Bizantina our breakfast was at the Hotel Conca D'Oro which is about a 10 minute walk away and up about 105 steps. La Bizantina has six bedrooms on the second floor, with a full kitchen, dining room and salon on the first floor. The bedrooms on the second floor are rented as separate units however one could rent the entire property as a single villa depending on the size of the group. There are three bathrooms to six bedrooms and ours was to be private to us as we had the largest room nearest that particular bathroom however one of the other guests drifted into our bathroom to use it at her leisure. Our room had twin beds with a chaise lounge, crisply ironed cotton sheets, fluffy white towels and bathrobes. We had French doors we could throw open that led to a sweet little patio and sun loungers with unbelievable views of Positano and the Mediterranean. Our typical plan was to walk the 600 steps down to the village and beach in the morning and then walk up the road in the evening. That plan worked very well for us as at the end of the day the road was lively and we walked past clothing stores, quaint shops, food stores and noted the restaurants we wanted to try. I loved La Bizantina and would definitely return there.

We stayed here for 3 nights and absolutely enjoyed our stay. The rooms are beautiful and charming with amazing views of the sea and Positano. We stayed in a double room with sea view - you have access to a lovely terrace with places to sit and lounge. Currently guests have to share a bathroom but it’s large and very clean. But we were told they’re renovating over the winter off season and every room will have its own bathroom. This hotel is about a 15 - 20 min walk from the port and main square which means it’s a quieter/less crowded area. The walk has great views the whole way. There is a regular bus service to the main area if you don’t want to walk. There are great restaurants around here as well which are cheaper since less touristy. The people who own Hotel Conca D’oro also own this so you get to enjoy your breakfast at that hotel in a dining room with great views. You also have access to other amenities at that hotel. Hotel Conca D’oro is about a 5 minute walk from here. We hope to stay here again one day!

Perfect hotel. Our room was clean and beautiful. The view of positano was the best. Our bed was SO comfortable and the room decor is so romantic. What made this hotel most special is the girl at reception, she is kind and helpful and made our stay.
