Florida Residence is a small solar family hotel located in the heart of Positano, just a 15-minute walk from Marina Grande, the waterfront and marina that allows connection to the main towns of the Amalfi and Sorrento as well as with the island Capri, just 10 minutes walk from the quiet and more reserved Fornillo beach, the old town and the shopping streets and the famous "Moda Positano". All guests can leave their car in the parking lot of the hotel and free guarded round the village on foot or with the local shuttle that makes parking at 'entrance of the structure and in maximum 15 minutes to reach the main attractions of the country. The rooms, the soft Mediterranean colors and Vietri tiles, have large furnished terraces and balconies with sea views. In the morning you can expect a full continental breakfast in the fully glazed veranda which will allow you to enjoy the beauty of the coast while you sip a cappuccino. All rooms are equipped with private bathroom with shower or bathtub and a hairdryer and are equipped with LCD TV, free wi-fi, air conditioning, refrigerator, safe, tea or coffee. In the reception our staff will help in the discovery of the country and the Amalfi Coast recommending attractions to visit and places to eat typical dishes of the local tradition.

I was a bit skeptical before I booked because there was nothing else available in our price range so I thought, why aren't people booking here? BUT, let me tell you, I don't regret staying here! I didn't realize we would actually get an apartment, huge bed/sitting room, extra room for opening our bags and still have them out of sight, dining/kitchen area and full bath. Plus an enormous terrace overlooking the hillside and bay. The breakfast (included) room is open air on the top of the building, with the same spectacular views. Very good, basic breakfast - eggs and sausage, fresh stone fruit (in October no berries), and delicious homemade breakfast cakes - typical Italian style. The bed is big and comfortable, extra pillows and blankets were appreciated. The staff is super friendly, though, depending on the time of evening you might arrive, not much English. The staff during the day speaks English. …

Breathtaking views, great location and super friendly staff. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it! Totally recommend. I have to mention Aniello, Francesco, Mario, Genaro and Graziana for the excellent treatment and for taking care of me during my stay.

Due to incident, our trip had to be cancelled 1 day before arrival. Their cancellation policy request for the full trip to be paid, but the hotel waived the fees with full discretion. This shows a lot regarding the managements compassion and understanding. Will definitely return to Positano and will only return to this place alone.

Incredible experience with the staff at Florida Residence! They helped us in every way possible: excellent fresh breakfast to order everyday, travel arrangements, restaurant reservations, and they organized massages and mani/pedis for us! The room was comfortable and had an excellent AC. Parking is included which is rare and very expensive around Positano. They have access to a private beach which is much nicer than the city beach. We loved going to Capri and seeing the blue grotto, but could have just stayed at Positano as well. Next2 restaurant was fantastic, and Saraceno d’Oro had great pizza. One of our favorite suggestions from Luigi at the hotel was to go to La Tagliata, a family owned restaurant and farm. The meal was AMAZING and the experience unforgettable. We will be back!!!…

We had the most wonderful stay at Florida Residence. Thank you to the family and staff who were so friendly and accommodating! We especially appreciated the free shuttle service when we arrived. Firstly the location, although a little higher up from the main beach, we found the location extremely convenient. Keep in mind the higher up you are, the better the view! There is a bus stop right outside but if you don’t mind the stairs, it is a short walk to the smaller beach and then only a little further to the main beach. Most of the time we would walk down and then take the bus back at the end of the day. There are also lots of restaurants along the same street as the hotel. We stayed two nights in the triple room and double room and the family was kind enough to give us two rooms next to each other so we can share the balcony. We also shared the same balcony with one other room but we did not see them our entire stay. The view from the balcony was amazing! The rooms and bathrooms were big and clean. Our rate also included breakfast on the terrace and there was a good selection.…

My previous stay in Positano was at the Art Hotel and I must say, if you are tossing up between the two, this one is much better value. We were apprehensive having read some average reviews but did not find any previous negativity to be true. For starters, there are two cats but they seemed very well-behaved and didn’t go near the food or our rooms. They were a non-issue. Our room was meticulously clean, all requests for extra bedding and pillows were quickly met. The staff were warm, and breakfast always seemed to be ready no matter how early we went up. Wifi was strong and fast. The air conditioning was great. The windows were secure and sunrises gorgeous from the room. No complaints, would book again.

We recently stayed for 4 nights at Florida Residence. The views from the balcony are unbelievable. We also found the service at check-in and breakfast to be great. Be prepared for steps. it is 300'+ elevation change from the beach to the hotel, but that is not unusual.

We went here for a week long vacation and absolutely fell in love with this hotel!! The family and staff were so friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to make us comfortable. We forgot adaptors and they had extras to borrow to us, the front desk always had answers to every question we had and had great recommendations, they made fresh cappuccinos or any coffee order you would ask for in the morning and had great breakfast including fresh picked fruit, and even drove us and our luggage to the bottom for free when we left, I could go on and on about this staff! The room was great with a beautiful view and balcony. We didn’t have a single complaint and would recommend this hotel to everyone staying in Positano! We loved it and hope we can make it back again someday!

We have over the last 10 years been visiting Positano in October. But this was our first stay at this fabulous family hotel. It is a wonderful family that owns this hotel and they are so kind and helpful. The hotel is built in the traditional Italian charming way, and we felt that we were living in an Italian villa. The family is also behind the real Italian breakfast – nice and rich selection and a tasting cup of cappuccino. From the terrace there is an incredibly view over the city, the mountains and the sea. We will stay here again – when we come back.

First off let me say I always hate seeing people leaving awful reviews that can damage a business and sometimes it comes across as an attack. But this was a trip of a lifetime and I would hate for someone else to spend good money on this place. First off the owners and staff were extremely kind. I hope they make improvents needed because it’s an amazing location. Now on to experience. We got in late check in and noticed a heavy cat litter smell in lobby. And three cats quite at home. The room was very dated and uncomfortable bed. The bathroom had a very strong smell, like sewage gas.breakfast was pretty plain but with cat on chairs and table you didn’t trust eating it. Even though it was covered. We left early and tried to cancel. Hotels.com tried to cancel but hotel wouldn’t. We went back and though they cleaned it was a strong air freshener smell to cover odors. We went on veranda which is incredible and started talking to guests in next room. She had cat allergies and was having a problem breathing. So she went and cancelled and moved to hotel Paso paso next door. Fabulous hotel. We decided to do the same. They refunded two nights and charged 2 nights. Don’t make the mistake we did and try to save some money. It isn’t worth it. Again the family was very kind, but the cats came into rooms and we’re obviously very welcome by owners. …
