This hotel is outstanding. We stayed here for 9 days. The location is perfect with easy access to the beach, port and restaurants and the local buses stop 2 minutes away. The staff at the hotel go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. I can’t think of a single suggestion for improvement. You will not be disappointed. We will be back. Thank you Palazzo Murat!!

We just returned home from our lovely stay at Palazzo Murat. The setting of the hotel is perfect - lovely courtyard for drinks and breakfast, fab pool with great views of Positano and the ocean.

The garden room is nice, not spectacular. Next time we would ask to be on the first floor (rather than ground), or upgrade to a sea view room as we couldn’t see much from our balcony. The room had everything you need for a short stay, albeit a little basic. Comfy bed and good shower. Take your own hairdryer if you have long hair!

We thought all of the staff were really lovely, welcoming and friendly. The concierge were brilliant and gave us lots of recommendations about places to go and restaurants to visit. However, the service was often painfully slow. We witnessed (as well as ourselves) others make comments about the wait time for drinks in particular. On a couple of occasions the staff seemed overwhelmed with the number of people ordering drinks and we had to wait more than 20 minutes for someone to take our order and another long wait for the drinks to appear.

The location is good - 5 minutes to the beach but it is definitely right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Positano so if you wanted somewhere a bit quieter and off the beaten path you are better off staying further up the hill.

Overall, a nice stay and a good base for our time in the beautiful Positano. Thank you!

I stayed here for 3 nights and I was so thankful I chose to stay here , it was peak heat and peak tourists with a public holiday, Positano was jam packed and I think I only liked my stay in Positano because of this hotel!

It truly is a remarkable location and so stunning, you often see people walking past outside and all are intrigued and come in to see what’s inside the tranquil entrance. The courtyard where breakfast is held and the all day bar is the real gem for me. The pool is also a welcome relief to the summer heat, not to mention the peace. They have a beautiful restaurant too which was delicious and very well priced for the ambience and quality!

The rooms are huge and I had a beautiful garden terrace with the most angelic and picturesque view. They have a thriving fruit and veg garden too, so lots of organic produce for their restaurants. The atmosphere in the bar is great with live music , it’s really what you imagine it to be with exceptional service throughout by everyone, waiters, front deck , porters etc! They helped with my bags and organising parking , everything was run to perfection really.

The wonderful Rosita is truly the warmest, most sweet person I’ve met on my whole trip across Italy. That kind of service doesn’t exist anymore , so personable and truly crafting experiences to suit you. I honestly can’t say enough nice things about this lady, she’s exceptional a real asset to the hotel, you will know if you’re ever lucky enough to meet her at the hotel front desk!

This is the only place I would stay if I ever come back to Positano, believe me , I really can’t imagine anyone being disappointed!

We travel alot as a family and had an incredible experience at the hotel. The architecture of the grounds and hotel itself are the best in the city. Antique furniture and works of art thruout the property help make you feel like you are staying somewhere special. The rooms were large with a great view of the ocean and landmark Church that is next door. The staff were incredibly nice and made us feel welcome. They took care of any small detail we required and we always on top of things. Location is critical in this city as the city is built on the side of a mountain and not everyone can walk up and down 100s of steps at a time. The Palazzo Murat is centrally located and close to the beach, shopping and restaurants so your steps are minimized. The pool had a great view of ocean and Church as well. The food at the hotel restaurant was great and several nights they had live entertainment at the bar done in a classy way that was not too loud. The place to stay!

We stayed at Palazzo Murat in late Sept - our first time traveling to Positano. I was planning to propose to my girlfriend and was emailing back and forth with the hotel for weeks leading up to the trip. They helped arrange an incredibly romantic dinner, Prosecco and flowers in our room upon arrival, and rose petals on the bed. Rosita was the most welcoming, accommodating, special staff member I’ve met at any hotel I’ve traveled to (and I travel a lot).

The hotel is an oasis in the lower part of Positano down near the port, where it can be pretty busy with foot traffic. Once you walk into the gates it’s quiet, the entire courtyard is lush and covered in greenery, they have a garden where a lot of the restaurant’s produce is grown, and a beautiful pool area. After looking at 15 or 20 hotels in Positano I can confidently say we made the right choice and will continue going back here.

The room we booked was the Deluxe Double Room which was very private, had an amazing HUGE bath tub, and a balcony that overlooked the sea and some of the hillside in Positano.

All that said, this was not the most expensive hotel we looked at in Positano, and I think we got much more value here than at some of the other places we looked at.

I would give it six stars if I could. My only hesitation about leaving such a great review is that I don’t want everyone else to find out about this secret gem and have it not be available the next time we go ;)

We spent three days in Positano and stayed in this property for two nights. The hotel is in a perfect location right in the middle of Positano, close to the sea, restaurants and the cathedral and yet is very quiet. It has a wonderful courtyard where breakfast is served and people can have drinks (try the Limoncello Spritzer!), plus a lovely pool area with views on the cathedral and the sea. the restaurant is also good (we had lunch there). Service is friendly and professional.
We had a spacious room with a great balcony overlooking Positano and the sea: just spectacular.
The Concierge desk can arrange anything from boat trips, to restaurants, transfers and much more (thank you Danielle & Co.!). We would highly recommend the hotel and would stay there again.

We have just finished our 5 day family vacation in Positano and very much enjoyed Palazzo Murat. The hotel offers a very nice atmosphere with a big garden, swimming pool, bar and restaurant areas. While this is all right in the centre of Positano, the old palazzo ist surrounded by big walls which gives a lot of tranquillity in the bustling village. Our rooms were equally nice, views of Positano were great and we also very much enjoyed the served breakfast. Finally, also the service, advice offered and friendliness of the staff added to the nice experience. Highly recommended !

Murat is a bit difficult to find but is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful area in the heart of Positano shops and close to the most famous beach in Positano. I felt like all our lunch and dinner reservations was a 5-10 minute walk away. Roscita - who worked the front desk - was the star of the hotel’s great service; she made us feel like we were family more than guests. I definitely recommend for someone who is looking for a high end feel for medium priced hotel.

My husband, twin 7 year old girls and myself stayed at the Hotel Palazzo Murat for 4 nights in August. From before leaving for our trip, the hotel contacted us asking if we needed anything from them. Prior to our arrival, they were able to help us set up daily parking for our rental car, appointment for a covid test, and dinner reservations for our first night. So immediately I knew that it was going to be an amazing stay. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a member of the hotel staff at the Parking Garage who took all of our luggage to the hotel for us. We were greeted with an apertif, and our hotel room was ready immediately. It was such a beautiful suite, with a terrace overlooking the town of Positano and included an outdoor dining table, lounge chairs, and a patio set. Needless to say we spent a lot of time on that terrace whether it was enjoying our coffee, wine or playing card games there. The hotel property is absolutely stunning as well. The bar is spacious and the drinks were fantastic. The pool was also beautiful with a view of the church in Positano. We had dinner at the restaurant one night as well. My husband was unfortunately unable to make it to dinner, so the restaurant staff brought the meal he ordered straight up to our room for him. Everyone at the hotel was so warm and friendly. The hotel is within the main walking path in Positano where all of the shops and the church are located. The hotel was also a 5 minute walk to the beach and the ferry stop. So it made it really convenient for us to get around as a family. There was no need to use a car to go anywhere, and there was no need for us to walk on the busy street with cars. It was the perfect hotel for a perfect family holiday. We cannot wait to go back!

Hi Beth - my apologies I just saw your message I didn’t realize the app has this type of feature. We stayed at the 2nd floor with balcony, it does have a better view with smaller outdoor space but you can actually open the door full length which still gives you a nice open feeling. The bathroom although very modern was quite small but we didn’t mind it since it was extremely nice, clean and functional. The hotel won’t disappoint, location, food, service and everything you could ask for and more. I’d be happy to send you photos from our room.

Dear Mrs. Voyager, Thank you for your kind request. If your friend cannot do stairs we suggest taking the rooms on the same floor as the reception, however there is one flight of approx 20 steps if guest would like to go to the pool and restaurant. Please note Positano is located on the hill and our Hotel in centre of the pedestrian area, to reach our Hotel this can only be done by foot. We remain at your disposal for any further assistance. Kind regards, Danielle Palomba
