What a slice of heaven! One of our favorite hotels anywhere. The building and grounds are exquisite, the staff friendly and attentive, the food fantastic, and our room was a dream. Positano is lovely but somewhat overrun with tourists, but this is an oasis that transports guests to a sublime plane. If you are staying in the area, do yourself a favor and stay here.
My husband, twin 7 year old girls and myself stayed at the Hotel Palazzo Murat for 4 nights in August. From before leaving for our trip, the hotel contacted us asking if we needed anything from them. Prior to our arrival, they were able to help us set up daily parking for our rental car, appointment for a covid test, and dinner reservations for our first night. So immediately I knew that it was going to be an amazing stay. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a member of the hotel staff at the Parking Garage who took all of our luggage to the hotel for us. We were greeted with an apertif, and our hotel room was ready immediately. It was such a beautiful suite, with a terrace overlooking the town of Positano and included an outdoor dining table, lounge chairs, and a patio set. Needless to say we spent a lot of time on that terrace whether it was enjoying our coffee, wine or playing card games there. The hotel property is absolutely stunning as well. The bar is spacious and the drinks were fantastic. The pool was also beautiful with a view of the church in Positano. We had dinner at the restaurant one night as well. My husband was unfortunately unable to make it to dinner, so the restaurant staff brought the meal he ordered straight up to our room for him. Everyone at the hotel was so warm and friendly. The hotel is within the main walking path in Positano where all of the shops and the church are located. The hotel was also a 5 minute walk to the beach and the ferry stop. So it made it really convenient for us to get around as a family. There was no need to use a car to go anywhere, and there was no need for us to walk on the busy street with cars. It was the perfect hotel for a perfect family holiday. We cannot wait to go back!…
The Palazzo Murat is a wonderful destination in itself; a perfect location and delivers professional service! Rafael and Rosita plus the rest of the staff are there for you at all times, for every little request. The rooms are lovely , spacious and spotless. Walk out the entrance and you are in the heart of everything wonderful about Positano. Look no further you have arrived at the perfect Positano Hotel.
We booked the hotel for one night, en route to Capri. Credit card details and all. We were looking forward to our stay as the reviews were positive. However when I called to advise the time of arrival they couldn’t find the reservation and said that I had failed to reply to one of their emails and—instead of calling—they sold the room! Luckily they found alternative accommodation at the better, sea facing, Covo dei Seraceni—for a better rate. To add insult to injury, they sent a Eur10 bottle of prosecco as if by sending cheap freebies you redeem yourself from the embarrassment of ruining someone’s holiday.
We travel alot as a family and had an incredible experience at the hotel. The architecture of the grounds and hotel itself are the best in the city. Antique furniture and works of art thruout the property help make you feel like you are staying somewhere special. The rooms were large with a great view of the ocean and landmark Church that is next door. The staff were incredibly nice and made us feel welcome. They took care of any small detail we required and we always on top of things. Location is critical in this city as the city is built on the side of a mountain and not everyone can walk up and down 100s of steps at a time. The Palazzo Murat is centrally located and close to the beach, shopping and restaurants so your steps are minimized. The pool had a great view of ocean and Church as well. The food at the hotel restaurant was great and several nights they had live entertainment at the bar done in a classy way that was not too loud. The place to stay!…
