Overlooking the bay of Positano, the Positano Art Hotel Pasitea is a perfect example of Mediterranean architecture, with its masonry, lava stone and wrought iron furnishing. Completely renovated, the Hotel has the typical terrace-structure which can be immediately recognized thanks to the magnificent bougainvillea coming up from the vulcanic rocks to underline the property shapes made of arches and vaults. The Hall has a blue flooring painted of white waves which reminds the water sea movement. The circular stairs leads to every floor from which enjoy a different amazing view of Positano and of the sea. All the rooms are wide, air conditioned, with satellite television and individual balconies overlooking the sea. Each one faces a wonderful seaside landscape and the suites have a seaview Jacuzzi. The hotel has also a very special wine bar, where it’s possible to have dinner, taste the best products of Italian gastronomy and chose from a great selection of national wines. Free Wi-Fi ADSL connection and efficient business corner in the lobby. Private car park with an extra charge.

Bed and linens are great. Room is really small, especially considering the price. Bathroom is small and pretty disappointing. Everything is of less quality than one would imagine For the price. Last week we stayed in Amalfi and for basically the same price, had a full suite with two full luxurious baths and not nearly as much hassle to get down to water level. Here it’s almost 500 steps!

First of all thanks for the review. We are happy that you enjoyed our beds and linens. These are very important details for a hotel. You have booked a deluxe seaview room. In all booking portals we also enter the average size of each type. We have assigned you a de luxe room which has a terrace with a spectacular view over the village. I understand that prices in Positano are very high in this period. But Positano is the most requested destination on the Amalfi Coast in this period. We also generally offer upgrades to customers, but we cannot offer this if the hotel is full. Positano is appreciated precisely because it is a village perched on a mountain that descends to the sea. If you don't like stairs you probably can't appreciate the charm of Positano. However, the stairs can be avoided by walking down the street, or by taking the public bus which runs every 30 minutes

We had a great stay at the Positea. The rooms were great. The view just wonderful. We had a lovely balcony looking down on the town to the water that was so enjoyable. We left the door open to the balcony on the day we arrived, when taking a nap to catch up a bit, just to enjoy the view when we awoke. I would say the only downside is that it is fairly high up (hence the beautiful view) so the steps are killer on the calfs. But we found the bus service which helped immensely. The manager at the front desk was so fun and welcoming. Breakfast was very good. One of the more reasonable places to stay in Positano.

We absolutely love this hotel, we have been coming here for around 10 years, its our favourite hotel in Positano. Every few months we look forward to returning. The staff are wonderful, so welcoming, nothing is too much trouble and always smiling and chatty. We feel this is our 2nd home in Italy. We love the art, the handpainted walls in the bedrooms and throughout the hotel. The beds are so comfortable, the place is spotless, breakfast on the veranda in fabulous and we love to sit and watch positano life go by. We cant wait to return in the autumn this year.

We had a wonderful stay! The room was clean and beautiful, and the view was amazing! The service was the best - every employee was so kind and helpful. We got great recommendations and they were very accommodating. The breakfast was great too! It is located above the town center / beach area, so you have to walk back uphill, but the walk isn’t too bad (plus it’s beautiful the whole way). There’s also free town shuttles to the town center. Highly recommend this hotel!

This hotel has been renovated beautifully but then not kept up. The staff is all nice but those in the bar are immature and spend more time flirting and gossiping than working. Do not seem well trained. The rooms on the top floor smell like mold. Giant spa tubs don't work correctly. Owner's balcony covered with junk and discarded fencing. Really nice to be right next to that.

Thank you for the review. We love to work cheerfully, and usually this thing is very appreciated by customers. I'm sorry that you have mistaken happiness for immaturity ... I hope you do not confuse these 2 things in other moments of your life. For the rest, the tubs worked properly, you yourself admitted that you didn't understand how they worked. As for the musty smell you were right, it was a room we had just opened after the long winter closure. You omitted to write that we have offered you a discount coupon to fix this problem. I'm sorry, I expected more precision from you. However, now we have solved the problem of the musty smell

Could not fault anything at this hotel - it may not be 4 or 5 stars, but definitely one of the overall best hotels we have stayed in. We stayed for 3 nights and not once had to call reception for anything - everything was perfect and as needed. Beds and pillows were super comfortable. Huge TV with Netflix/Amazon Prime, clean toilets with shower cubicle and toiletries; all standard amenities in room. Generous balcony overlooking the sea. Good air-conditioning. Breakfast was standard but excellent - fresh fruits, smoothie maker, eggs made to order. Only suggestion would be to bring forward the breakfast time from 8 a.m to 7 a.m, so that guests leaving early can still avail the breakfast. The location is also very good with affordable restaurants nearby - just avoid the one next door, and go to those suggested by reception. The staff at reception are incredibly helpful. Housekeeping is excellent. The entire hotel is aesthetically very well-decorated and highly recommended for staying on the Amalfi Coast. There is a bus stop just near the hotel and steps leading to the town centre are opposite the hotel.…

Excellent excellent excellent!!! Staff were amazing, super friendly, always ready to service.. views are literally to die for! Worth every penny just for the views! Absolutely breathtaking! Rooms are fresh and nice, comfortable! Wouldn’t change a thing! Local restaurants were lovely as well.. my wife and I were given celebratory drinks as we were on our honey moon! After 4 days I was very sad to go!

5/5 Stars. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Provided restaurant suggestions, maps to get around easier, and scheduled transportation for us. There was a maintenance issue in our original room but they contacted us months in advance to let us know and change our room. Highly recommend staying at this hotel!

This hotel definitely exceeded my expectations. I had trouble choosing a hotel in Positano because to be honest, I prefer modern hotels and most hotels there aren't. When we arrived, we were told breakfast was included in our rate, which I didn't think it was but that was a nice extra. The pastries each morning were to die for. Even my husband ate a few each morning and he's not big on pastries for breakfast. Also, our room was huge, which I wasn't expecting at all. We booked the executive room with private balcony seaview and it was practically a suite, with a separate but open seating area. The room description said that the room came with a "bath or shower" which worried me because I don't like taking baths. However, I emailed the resort prior to our stay to let them know my concern and they told me they would guarantee a room with a shower for us and we didn't run into any issues. The shower was tiny but I knew that coming in based on other reviews I read. The room was updated/modern enough that I felt comfortable. However, the sheets and towels were awful. Very scratchy! I'm surprised because it's a nice hotel and that's the easiest fix any hotel could make. My only other complaint was that it is very hard to find the hotel if you haven't been to Positano before. We got lost with a few other couples walking up the millions of stairs from the port; but all along, we could have just taken the road instead. It would have been helpful if the hotel emailed a map with directions upon booking. Once you figure out the road, it's super easy to get anywhere in Positano. Also, the hotel is very close to da Gabrisa and da Vincenzo which were both very good restaurants! The best part of the hotel is without a doubt, the staff. They were so nice and treated everyone there like family. They were also extremely helpful when figuring out how to get to different places, etc. I would definitely recommend the hotel when staying in Positano, especially considering that all hotels are on the older side and some cost much more. …
