Hotel in Positano in the Heaven of Amalfi’s Coast To climb heavenwards it is also possible to use the steps: those of the mythical ”Scalinatella” which, from Punta Reginella lead to the high part of Positano. Two flights and here you are in a wonderful paradise called Hotel Casa Albertina. On entering through the grandiose entrance door, go onto one of the many terraces and enjoy the breathtaking view: below you will see the famous “Spiaggia delle Sirene”, and in front, the suggestive ridge of Praiano, while higher still, climbs the “Sentiero degli Dei” where the local christians took refuge during the cruel Saracen invasions. As always, the delightful Cinque family, the owners, will be at hand to ensure your total comfort during this stay in this wonderful hotel set in the mountains perched over the sea. lf you really want to “take in the history” why not ask for the room which at one time, when it was still a typical house of Positano before being transformed into a hotel.

We stayed at this lovely family-run hotel on May 11, 2023. The owners and staff are helpful and gave us the right guidance on how to reach Positano and their hotel on a day of traffic disruptions. The hotel is perched on a height but the bit of slog (seventy steps or so) to climb from the road was aptly compensated for by the stunning views from the room and balcony. The room was quaint and tastefully decorated (as the rest of the hotel) and they serve a great breakfast too. It is also very well-located and is, I would say, reasonably affordable given the priceless view one gets from there. Overall a fine stay and a thumbs-up to Lara and the other owners and staff for a memorable stay.

This is a great option in Positano for a reasonable price. The hotel is family run and they were very friendly and organized. I asked for their help with a number of things while in Positano- from booking cars to day trips- and they were happy to help. The view from the rooms is spectacular and worth climbing the stairs. As mentioned in prior reviews, it is fairly high up the hill so you do have to climb a number of stairs, but it is worth it. If you are taking the ferry to Positano and have luggage, I would recommend using the luggage porter service as you get off the ferry. You do not want to carry your bags up those stairs (we made that mistake). All in all, we would definitely stay here again. Good value for the price, since so many places in Positano are insanely expensive.

This is a great hotel with a great service, not a Luxury hotel more like a mid-range, but its comfortable, good location, staff is friendly, rooms are good and with enough space and bathroom new and modern. But what you will love is the view, is amazing!!! Now you need to take care with the steps, there are 70 steps to reach the hotel from the road (between café positano and Da Vincenzo restaurants) but you can call hotel and they will sent you a porter to help you with the luggages. I want to thanks Alessio and Andrea for their support during our stay! We stay at 3rd floor at room 43

Starting with the good: lovely and friendly crew, family feel and good location. Gorgeous views and semi-decent location. Modernized bathroom. Unfortunately, I should have done more research, do NOT stay here if: you don’t want or can’t climb stairs to enter the hotel. Or, if you want luxury, this is NOT the place. Scratchy old towels and stained, wool itchy blankets. The breakfast was just ok.

This is an incredibly outstanding Hotel in Positano !!! Staff and Owners are amazing , caring, knowledgeable, helpful and wonderful people to give you an outstanding holiday you will remember forevermore. Rooms are stunning Views are heavenly and gobsmacking !!! I don’t think I closed my mouth from Wow the entire stay. Rooms are sooooo clean and well appointed Location is the best with a couple of great restaurants (close by at the bottom of the stairs). Beach also near by ( stairs down to ) You can walk up and down the road if you prefer . Breakfast is awesome on the balcony with a great selection. Towels are provided from reception for the beach An elevator is within the Hotel ( this is rare in Positano hotels ) Potential readers of this review don’t complain about the stairs up and down to beach shops and restaurants! Positano is built on the side of a mountain and unless you have a jet pack to fly up and down you are going to be walking up and down stairs !!! Just think how much fitter you will be and how much better you will feel at the end of your time in Positano ! My favourite place in the world is the Maldives , however Positano just nudged this to equal place on my ladder. I cannot rate this place highly enough 👌 Thankyou Casa Albertina staff, special thanks to Owners Lorenzo & his gorgeous daughter Lara for an incredible stay . We will be back 💯

We had 6 nights at Casa Albertina in September of 2022. The hotel is (as previously noted in other reviews) up 70 stairs from the street level. It is an old building with a very authentic vibe. Service at the hotel was excellent, from the front desk, breakfast staff, housekeeping to the rooftop bar. The room itself was quite small and a little worn, but clean. The view from balcony was amazing! Bathroom was a pretty decent size but not one hook to hang towels or bathrobes (there was a towel heating system but it was right over the bidet so difficult to hang things there). The location was good. No matter where you are going to have a LOT of walking and climbing in Positano. We could leave hotel and go to the right and there were a number of good restaurants and shops, or go left where there were even more shops and restaurants. Caffe Positano and Di Vincenzo was right downstairs from the hotel. Breakfast was good with wonderful service and the rooftop bar was really nice with a fabulous view! For the money, Casa Albertina was a great value!

Just stayed 3 nights at this fantastic hotel! Location location location. I did so much research into this trip and for what you pay for it’s a heck of a deal. You are perched 75 steps away from the street which I loved because it was quiet and secluded. Hotel Poseidon which was double the price was right down the street and you have the same amazing views at Albertina for half the price. The staff was AMAZING. Everyone is so nice. I highly recommend staying here. It’s so easy to get into town and to the beach from here. They have a rooftop with the best view and a terrace to lounge. There is also An amazing restaurant right as you get down to the street called Da Vincenzo. I also highly recommend getting a reservation there early and eating there. Best food in Positano.

We only stayed here one night but overall I was pretty happy! The hotel was clean and the staff was VERY friendly and helpful! Always a plus. We stayed on the first floor room 22. There’s a beautiful balcony with a great view. My only complaint is that the walls are paper thin and the room next to us has the TV ridiculously loud. Then maybe around 5am every noise from downstairs getting prepared for the breakfast was heard in our room. It woke me up and it was impossible to go back to sleep :( I suggest if you’re a light sleeper request to be in a room that’s not on the first floor.

My fiancé and I stayed here for 6 nights in June. We had a beautiful room on the 3rd floor (I think room 48 perhaps). The breakfast each day was amazing and the staff were so friendly. We particularly loved the rooftop bar. The lady and barman working there were so lovely and couldn’t be more accomodating. There are lots of steps to get to the hotel but it is well worth the view

Serious safety incident
While I was staying at the Casa Albertina the older gentleman who or may not be the manager/owner attempted to force himself onto me in a sexual manner. I had arrived back at the hotel after being out for the day, retrieved my room keys and went up to my room. About 15 mins after being back in my room, older man called to "make sure everything was okay." There was a bit on a language barrier, but I assumed he was calling about my complaint earlier in the morning about a strange smell coming from the bathroom/right outside of the hotel?? I told him everything was fine and thanked him for checking. A couple mins later there was a knock on my door. I opened the door and found the older man standing outside of my room. He shoved his way into my room and proceeded to tell me how beautiful he thought I was (at this point I was trying to figure out if he was there to fix the bathroom or what was really going on). Trying to be polite, I thanked him and asked him what he was doing there. He immediately tried to grab me around my face and attempted to kiss me on my mouth. I told him NO/STOP and that he needed to leave. His response was "oh you are so beautiful" and then he grabbed my breasts and my buttocks. Thankfully I had had my hand on the door and I opened it and shouted out into the hallway that he needed to leave now! He quickly left and the next day when I was checking out of the hotel, he would not even make eye contact with me (not that I wanted him to, but it shows that he knows he acted inappropriately). I firmly believe that if I had not been so forceful or the situation would have allowed he would have taken further advantage of me. Other than that horrible experience, I found the room to be very nice, all the other staff to be very accommodating and kind. With that said, if you go back to reviews several years ago (starting around 2016-2018) you will find several that are not so glowing. My trip was arranged by my travel agent who did not go back that far and only saw the glowing reviews of recent times. I would say if you are considering staying here, do not go alone, especially if you are female and also research all of the reviews prior to booking.
