Just back from a 2 night stay in this hotel.
Excellent centrally located hotel with easy access to restaurants, beach and shops.
The views from this hotel is amazing and one not to miss...we booked a classic room with a sea view but upgraded at an extra charge to a superior for the better view. The food in the hotel is nice. We had breakfast included which is your typical European breakfast. We also had dinner one night which was also nice but we booked it just to take in the amazing views from the restaurant location at night. The same restaurant is used for breakfast.

Hotel staff were helpful and arranged for a moped for us to be dropped to the hotel. I'd highly recommend this for travelling the

There was no iron in the rooms or hotel so you had to basically arrange for clothes to be ironed 24 hours in advance. So bring an iron or book your clothes in advance of arrival.....

This is an excellent hotel, clean and well maintained. The location allows walks into town, the beach, the Sar museum and boat tours and restaurants. The views are incredible.
The staff is the best too. Francesca at the front desk, all the restaurant staff, porters and cleaners were so very warm, welcoming and helpful. I was so sad to leave!
Thank you to everyone who was so kind!

Our stay at Hotel L'Ancora was incredible! I did so much research beforehand trying to find where to stay and for value & location and this one fit our wants and needs best. The management and staff were so kind, accommodating, and professional. Our luggage was delayed from the Naples airport for a couple days and Domenico (one of the managers) helped tremendously in getting information on when and how we could receive our stuff.

It's next door to the famous Franco's Bar (drinks are pricy but it was a Positano must!) and Le Sirenuse so the views were breathtaking. A short walk down to the beach and plenty of shops nearby so we didn't go far for anything!

We were in the Family Junior Suite which had *plenty* of space (two bathrooms and a jacuzzi tub) and a balcony that we spent most of our down time on. The AC was fabulous and the space was very clean. Breakfast was included in the price so we didn't have to go on the hunt for a meal every morning - very convenient and the staff couldn't have been nicer to us.

Also, there is an elevator so we didn't have to carry everything up and down stairs, although you will do plenty of walking up and down stairs in Positano as is!
The one thing that I felt was not advertised correctly was the allowance of using the pool at the sister hotel Covo dei Saraceni. We saw online (and from reviews) that we could utilize it but we went and were told that it wasn't available to us. Perhaps this was something that was done before COVID times and they stopped offering it? So, a bummer there but they do have a restaurant and gelato shop that are open to the public. Right next to other popular restaurants near the water!

I'd highly recommend this to anyone who is looking to stay in Positano. We were there for 5 nights and felt safe, comfortable, and like we got our money's worth. We miss it already!

Hotel was in a great location, not more than 5-7 minutes walk down to the beach and not too many steps. Couldn’t ask for a more central location in positano. The included breakfast was very nice, served in their restaurant that had stunning views of the coast. There was always hot food as well as continental breakfast options. Very quick service with coffee/espresso/etc. We stayed in the junior family suite with 2 adults and 3 kids - spacious for all of us. Bathroom could use some updating but overall very clean and beds were comfortable. They provided plush bathrooms and slippers which were a nice touch! We had a small patio with amazing views. Front desk was always very helpful, we didn’t need much but when we did they were kind. We didn’t eat at the hotels outside of breakfast so cannot comment on that. Would return in a heartbeat!

This lovely hotel has that classic, gorgeous Positano view-- it is right next to Alfred's Bar, but you can enjoy your same view from your balcony at L'Ancora without paying for extremely expensive cocktails. Le Sirenuse hotel is 2 doors down, but L'Ancora is a fraction of the cost. There was a lovely breakfast buffet in the restaurant, with plenty of tables overlooking the gorgeous views. Based on many other reviews, I thought we could use the pool at the sister hotel (Covo dei Saraceni) which was one reason that I booked here- unfortunately, we were told that you cannot use the pool there during high season. The location was great, not a long walk to get down to the waterfront. It was also nice because it is right on the road, so you don't have to drag your luggage around (we saw many people who stayed lower/closer to the water who had to then carry their luggage up to the road).

Hotel L'Ancora, Via Cristoforo Colombo 36, 84011, Positano does not have parking so you’ll either need to arrange parking at one of the covered parking options in the town (which can be booked in advance but be careful of the one-way system in operation because if you accidentally drive past the parking garage you’ll need to circle the entire town and approach it again) and wheel your suitcase to the hotel or take advantage of the hotel valet parking option. The restaurant (where we saw Asian potential customers being turned away for no apparent reason by the staff) and reception are at street level and due to the location on a cliffside you need to take internal stairs or the elevator down to your room. Our Classic room had a balcony with a wonderful sea view. The views are definitely the selling point of this hotel and we’ll never forget the wonderful sunsets from our balcony. The room was clean, comfortable, safe and well-provisioned (sea view balcony, air conditioning, safe, minibar, hairdryer, satellite tv, etc.) This hotel is a good option if you’re staying in Positano being close to all the amenities and to the beach but to be honest it’s unremarkable especially considering the price.

We stayed here 2 nights in September 2021 and loved every minute. Our driver was able to drop us off right in front of the hotel, so no need to lug our suitcases up any stairs. Carmela was waiting for us right out front to help with the luggage and check us in. We were hungry, and she was able to reserve a table with the best view at their restaurant for lunch. The views from this hotel are incredible, and they rival the much more expensive Le Sirenuse right next door. Seriously, there is a line of people waiting to get into Franco's Bar every night when they could enjoy the same views and cocktails from Ancora. The staff goes above and beyond here, and the included breakfast was amazing. Our room was enormous and we had a large terrace with loungers. Even though we booked a room without a view, we could still see some of the Positano views. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Thanks to Carmela for always greeting us with smile!

We stayed at L’ancora 4 nights from April 30 to May 4. It’s a delightful hotel, with excellent services, very nice rooms, and beautiful views of Positano.
They provided excellent concierge services and the housekeeping staff was fast and efficient, our room was cleaned early in the day once we departed. They still offer turndown service, something you don’t see often these days. The attached restaurant is also quite good for lunch and dinner besides the breakfast buffet that was included. The hotel is well located in Positano and not far from the main walking street down to the beach. Highly recommend this hotel.

From the moment we checked in, we were treated to amazing customer service. We were tired from traveling all day, but Angelica was so kind and patient, showing us to our rooms and making us feel very welcome. She had also been working with me on the phone before we arrivd helping me with restaurant reservations and a shuttle. She is amazing! Everyone we dealt with from the people working the front desk to the cleaning staff were so helpful and efficient! Reservations for dinner, towels for the beach, anything we needed we got. The restaurant staff members are led by a man who is very passionate about the way things are run, sometimes to an amusing degree. The views are beautiful. Our stay was delightful.

I though the concierge front desk was not helpful at all bordering on rude ,The rooms were spacious but a waste of space we were in the junior suite Nice terrace was about all I can say. The bathroom was terrible the bathtub was so high to get over very dangerous slipped a few times. I have to say the bright spot was the restaurant
the food was terrific and the waiters were very good and attentive. We asked the front desk for restaurant recommendations or to make reservations for us was met with no answer .
These rooms were not cheap I would Recommend you too look around before you book at this hotel. was not impressed. It does have a beautiful view from the terrace, but don't be fooled most of the other hotels do also.
also if you were on the terrace you could see right in the rooms next to you,
was very weird .
