Stayed three nights in September for our honeymoon. I will start with the good, of which there was far more than the bad. The concierge service, especially Danielle, was nothing short of spectacular. My wife and I are accustomed to using tripadvisor and google to plan everything out, but that won't fly in Positano. USE THE STAFF. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Reservations at one of the toughest spots to eat at in town were made the night before. A wonderful driver to Naples at the end of our trip showed up twenty minutes after we asked for it. Carmela and the security guard were fantastic as well, always welcoming and helpful. Due to travel issues our stay had to be pushed back a night, and the hotel could not have been more accommodating. The views are incredible. Unobstructed view of the ocean and east elevation of the town. Time will be well spent on the balconies. The rooms, especially our deluxe, left something to be desired at the price point. To be sure, it seems to be a Positano issue, not Albergo Miramare one - when paying over 500 euros a night, we thought the accomodations would be more modern and updated, but such is the location. The rooms themselves were well kept, housekeeping touched them up every time we left, and the beds were comfortable. I was torn between 4 and 5 stars only because of the rooms, but they are in good enough shape that it warrants the stay. I will add that the last night we were transferred to a superior room which we found more to our liking. Finally, make sure the breakfast is included. Amazing views of the town and ocean, good food, friendly service.

We booked this hotel because the reviews we read sounded amazingly good, so maybe we had our expectations a little too high. I had read in the other reviews that the hotel offers porters to help with getting your luggage up the stairs, so I reached out to the hotel the day before we were checking in on Facebook messenger (they didn't have WhatsApp and I thought email might take a few days to get a response). Unfortunately I didn't hear anything back, and we ended up having to carry the luggage ourselves up the stairs in pouring rain. When we arrived at the hotel, they quickly said "oh you should have contacted us for a porter". I told them I contacted them on Facebook messenger and they said they "don't do Facebook". Not a major problem, but also not the greatest welcome - also, if you don't "do" Facebook, simply turn off Facebook messages for your business. We booked the Superior Double Room with Balcony & Sea View - and the view we had there was absolutely amazing. The wait the staff is also amazing - when you order room service or at breakfast - super kind and helpful. Regarding the other reviews about ants - we also had them - there were a lot of ants on our balcony, on the table etc. We asked to have our breakfast on our balcony one morning, but it was a little gross because there were ants on the table trying to get at the food. We didn't have any ants in our actual room though. Also, wifi is horrible. My husband and I both had to do a little work, and it was super frustrating with their wifi being so spotty. We ended up just hotspoting off our phones. Overall, would I stay here again? No - At these prices, i would try staying at a similar priced hotel and comparing the services elsewhere.

Only 2 stars because of 2 major issues: * WiFi does not work 80% of the time. When it works, it is very slow. * The double bed is actually 2 twin mattresses next to each other, creating a gap and resulting in an extremely UNCOMFORTABLE and UNROMANTIC bed. I will give it 4 or even 5 stars when these issues will be fixed. POSITIVE * Spectacular view from room balcony and breakfast room * Spacious and clean rooms with high ceiling * Friendly staff * Breakfast can be served on the room balcony, but a tablecloth should be brought along with the tray. NEGATIVE * Ants on the balcony * Very loud music on weekends from a bar below TIPS Some rooms have a view from the bathroom tub, with longer but narrower balcony (so no table for breakfast). Some rooms have a deeper balcony which accommodate a table for breakfast

Our entire stay at Miramare was a dream! The room, the view, the staff...Rosita and Carmela were incredibly friendly and gave us great tips on local restaurants/things to do. They even organised a cake, champagne and flowers, for my birthday, brought to our room. One of the best views in the whole of Positano. Would very much recommend as the place to stay in Positano!

What a shame, we sadly walked away from here with a sour taste in our mouth. We had really high expectations about this hotel, especially when you are paying 250 euros a night. It started well and we had a room with a lovely view but when the morning came things changed. I have a nut allergy and was told I couldn't eat anything for breakfast... nothing! After a lot of back and forth between reception and the waiters on breakfast it was decided that I could have doughnuts. So I was offered 5 doughnuts for breakfast in a 4 star hotel. I complained and was told there was nothing I could do, I then complained to the staff later in the afternoon and was met with a lot of backhanded apologies mainly you should have told us before or just excuses. I have stayed in hotels all around the world and have NEVER told a hotel before going. Anyway, I was assured my breakfast the next day was going to be lovely, so once again my expectations were high and I, frustratingly, was given another 5 doughnuts just this time two variations. Really not good enough. Additionally we had ants crawling across the room and some ended up in our suitcase. Not impressed and massively overpriced.

We want you to know that the two stars which you gave us are appreciated, but we wish your experience had been worthy of five stars. Indeed Mely662, Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Due to covid 19, Breakfast is served in a bright room overlooking the sea, the breakfast is a comprehensive buffet with hot options (made to order). The buffet has healthy, welcoming tasty selection of foods and hot coffee and tea. delicious mozzarella cheese, cherry tomatoes, ham, salame, seasonal fruits and vegetable fresh squeezed orange juice, and of course croissants and the cakes. Thank you to let us know about your nut allergy on your last day, you were able to eat most of our food with specific cakes made for you only It was our sincere pleasure to have you here at the Miramare and we can only hope that you will allow us to try to do better next time.
