This was my first trip to Positano and I was delighted with everything about this hotel. The hostess Rosita went beyond the norm to make sure we felt welcomed and appreciated. The room was chic with an elegant bath and a balcony with a "not to be believed" view. My head was spinning!
The breakfast buffet is served in a room directly overlooking the water where there is so much light that they have a plant whose branches have been growing along the ceiling for the past 50 years. Totally charming.
But what really set this place apart for me was that I forgot two jackets there and Rosita mailed them back to me the US after I had left. Her super hospitality and graciousness continued even then. I have already told my daughters that they need to put this little gem on their list of hotels to visit soon.

Me and my boyfriend recently stayed at Miramare for four incredible nights. Its always been a dream of mine to visit Positano and the hotel exceeded our expectations and more. We were warmly greeted by the lovely Rosita who made us feel at home instantly. Our room was so beautiful and had the most perfect view overlooking Positano. The hotel was in the perfect location and was close to all amenities. Rosita was so accommodating and helped us book our dinner reservations and gave us the best recommendations, she also organised our trip to Capri which was amazing, we had such a great day on the boat and on the island. Everyone at the hotel was so friendly and helpful with anything we needed. Rosita is such a kind and special lady and we are so glad to have met her she made us feel so special throughout our trip and really made it perfect for us we are so thankful for her hospitality and service. Thank you too Carmella also who was so kind and funny. We will definitely be back one day, we miss it already!

What a shame, we sadly walked away from here with a sour taste in our mouth. We had really high expectations about this hotel, especially when you are paying 250 euros a night. It started well and we had a room with a lovely view but when the morning came things changed. I have a nut allergy and was told I couldn't eat anything for breakfast... nothing! After a lot of back and forth between reception and the waiters on breakfast it was decided that I could have doughnuts. So I was offered 5 doughnuts for breakfast in a 4 star hotel. I complained and was told there was nothing I could do, I then complained to the staff later in the afternoon and was met with a lot of backhanded apologies mainly you should have told us before or just excuses. I have stayed in hotels all around the world and have NEVER told a hotel before going. Anyway, I was assured my breakfast the next day was going to be lovely, so once again my expectations were high and I, frustratingly, was given another 5 doughnuts just this time two variations. Really not good enough. Additionally we had ants crawling across the room and some ended up in our suitcase. Not impressed and massively overpriced.

We want you to know that the two stars which you gave us are appreciated, but we wish your experience had been worthy of five stars. Indeed Mely662, Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Due to covid 19, Breakfast is served in a bright room overlooking the sea, the breakfast is a comprehensive buffet with hot options (made to order). The buffet has healthy, welcoming tasty selection of foods and hot coffee and tea. delicious mozzarella cheese, cherry tomatoes, ham, salame, seasonal fruits and vegetable fresh squeezed orange juice, and of course croissants and the cakes. Thank you to let us know about your nut allergy on your last day, you were able to eat most of our food with specific cakes made for you only It was our sincere pleasure to have you here at the Miramare and we can only hope that you will allow us to try to do better next time.

This was my first time staying in Positano. I had visited before but usually stay in Sorrento. As other reviews have noted, this hotel has a fair amount of steps to get to the entrance. It's not along a driving road, so it might be a tough stay if you're not in fairly okay shape.
To give you an idea of where the hotel is located (because I struggled a bit with picturing it), think of the classic Positano picture that shows the buildings on a climbing hill. Albergo Miramare is one of those buildings, so your view from the room is the other part of Positano and you look out into the ocean and towards where hotels like Le Sirenuse is. If you're looking for a room with the "typical" Positano view, you need to be on that side.
Miramare's view is very nice and the room we stayed in had a lovely balcony. Everything felt very nice and well taken care of. Everybody we interacted with was nice. Breakfast was great! We really enjoyed the beautiful setting and the wide variety of food available. It's mostly cold items like a tort (which was delicious), fruit, pastries with a small selection of hot items.
For me, my hesitation in coming back would be that I don't feel like it was worth the $800 a night. We travelled in a group of 3 and it felt a bit exorbitant, considering one of the beds was a sofa bed, and not a very big one. I am petite, and I think an average size person wouldn't fit. While everything was pleasant, the experience didn't balance out with what you expect from an $800/night room or hotel. Keep in mind, this wasn't the mid of high season, but mid-May. I also think that our room was above(?) the kitchen or something because in the bathroom you can VERY clearly hear people walking about and talking. They sound like they are right there! It was very disconcerting the first time I was in the bathroom and realized it! Haha. I would suggest asking for a room on the top floor if possible.
Do note that by staying at Miramare, you have access to the pool at Palazzo Murat. It's not too close, but at least you'll have access to a pool.

A gem ! Third (3nd) time a charm ! Why wife and I stayed here in September of 2022 after having to cancel our hotel reservations in both September of 2020 & 2021. It was everything we could of asked for ! It was quaint, classy, intimate with incredible views. The staff, both Carmela and Danielle were fantastic, after dealing with them for over two (2) years it was like were were long lost friends. They made dinner suggestions and reservations for us as well as coordinated trips down the Amalfi Coast and out to Capri. The hotel is located near the upper road in Positano and walking is required but if you are in good health no big deal. We loved the location. It is a small and classy boutique hotel. Carmela and Danielle speak excellent english, Danielle with a English accent ! We stayed in a Deluxe Room and the views from bedroom and bathroom were mind blowing. This hotel was by far the highlight of any of our accommodations during our five (5) week trip through the Balkans.

The hotel was absolutely perfect for what we expected in Positano. The views from the room were incredible…. We had a large balcony to enjoy drinks and breakfast.
The staff greatly helped with coordinating private cars from/to Naples. Porters carried our bags, escorted us down the stairs to the hotel, called to reserve chairs at the sister hotel pool(great spot to spend an afternoon), and called to reserve dinner reservations for each night.
I can not say enough about this place. You must plan for steps in general for Positano… this place is located about 110 steps down from the Main Street and 210 steps up from the beach boardwalk/restaurants. Take walking shoes and enjoy the experience

From the second we arrived, everything’s been top notch. Hard to match views, rooms are beautiful, breakfast is great.
Rosita and the staff were so accommodating, making us feel very special throughout the stay. Hotel is amazing, but the experience is even better!

We stayed at Hotel Miramare for 3 nights and it was stunning. Best view in Positano and amazing, welcoming service upon arrival and throughout our stay. The room we stayed in had a terrace which was stunning. Room was really well sized and clean. Also the area is perfect, short walk to most places and probably 5 mins to the beach.

We will always remember Miramare as the foundation of our trip to Amalfi Coast. The staff was always available and said yes to every request, making us feel special and well attended. The view was epic form our balcony. There's stairs yes to get to and from but that is the Amalfi Coast experience :). There are porters for luggage so it's really not a big deal. We even added another night in Positano at a different hotel (Miramare was booked) and they arranged to transfer our bags while we did a day trip on a private boat to Capri. Super kind, super helpful. Pure Magic :)
