This was my fifth visit to Positano and the Amalfi coast in forty years I first visited in 1980. To be honest very little has changed during the summer season accommodation is in short supply. The hotels though charming with wonderful terraces and lovely attentive staff are not the most comfortable in terms of sleep quality ( hard mattresses and pillows) and bathrooms with dodgy plumbing and electrics are the norm. Accommodation is limited and prices are high. The Poseidon is a typical amalfi coast hotel we paid in excess of £2000 per night so in excess of $2500US for room 16 anywhere else in the world this would have be considered excessive for a four star hotel as described within the parameters above but this the Amalfi coast at the end of May so I am afraid is fairly typical. Both the room we stayed in and the main terrace where the small pool bar and restaurant were did have an amazing view across the bay and the staff were very charming and the bar scene was delightful. I am loathe to write anything negative but feel very strongly about the bathroom situation they have a separate bath and shower but the bath/ shower dispenser gel is glued to the wall in order to get the product out of the dispenser into the bath you to have to squirt it out onto the wall tiles and then use the hand held shower attachment to literally wash it of the walls into the bath. Note to the owners anybody who can afford to pay in excess of £2000 a night is not interested in stealing super expensive toiletries let alone the very basic toiletries you provide and if you are going to go the trouble of gluing products to walls at the very least you should make sure that the nozzles are directed into the bath/ in a way that people can use them.…

Absolutely incredible. I cannot say enough good things about Hotel Poseidon. We received the best service. They also gifted us a bottle of wine for our anniversary. We will never forget our time at Hotel Poseidon and Positano. We loved our balcony room and the bed was comfortable. The staff is also more than willing to change your mattress if you don’t find it to be comfortable.

I so very much enjoyed my time at the Poseidon, in spite of the rain. The entire hotel staff was welcoming and made such an effort to ensure that my visit to Positano was lovely. The views from my private balcony were breathtaking. Breakfasts were most accommodating with anything you would desire offered in the dining room overlooking the town. Absolutely gorgeous hotel! We upgraded to a larger room and were not disappointed. Fabulous view right from our balcony. However the best part of this gem is the staff. No request was denied for our 5 day stay. The patio for breakfast is amazing as is the food. We were lucky enough to get reservations at Il Tridente two nights and was amazing! Leonardo was so wonderful and friendly as were all of the wait staff. He organizes the staff with a quiet elegance. Would definitely stay here again if we ever return!

Amazing experience at the bar and restaurant ! We were welcomed by Liliana, she made us feel unique during our all stay. Food is tasty, view incredible (best view !!!), and the staff of the hotel is very nice and professional. Thank you Romolo for your kindness and helpful advices. Went to a Sunday brunch on the terrace with my mum and sister and wow, the staff were so friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. I was on the waitlist and was called by Liliana the night before with a cancellation and from then they were so helpful. Leonardo and the other servers on the day were so polite and lovely and helped us choose the best wine! The views are absolutely incredible and the food was amazing. To top it off there was a beautiful violinist playing throughout the brunch. This was on our last day and we couldn't have ended the trip with anything better, had goosebumps the full time. 10000/10.

Wonderful location! A 10 minute walk to town so out of the craziness but still accessible. Spectacular views from the bar and patio where you eat meals. Get a room with a patio and a view. Boutique hotel in a very European style. Breakfast was very good and had an omelet chef! The staff was so warm and wonderful. An amazing place!

We’re sitting at the pool deck of the Poseidon awaiting our car to the airport as we write this. To say our time here was perfect would be an understatement. Our room was wonderful, and all the facilities are top notch. We utilized the spa and the restaurant, and both were 5 stars. The views are amazing, as is to be expected. More importantly, the staff at the Poseidon makes you feel welcome the minute you walk in the door. Notable team members include Luka, Margo, Tony, Pietro, and Leonardo, but the whole team was incredible. Overall we cannot wait to return to the Poseidon.

If coming to Positano, look no further! Charming and extremely well maintained with the best views of the town and the sea. What made our stay outstanding beyond the views was how truly incredible the staff is. They are some of the hardest working we have come across and they exceeded expectations with their attentiveness and cheerful and welcoming attitude in every interaction. A special thank you to Leonardo and his staff in the restaurant and Salvatore’s help in the bar area for making our experience great during every night of our stay. From complimentary prosecco to help us celebrate our engagement to drinks by the fireplace with live music to amazing breakfasts daily, this place has it all.
