Oh did I research our stay in Positano. Crazy crazy hotel prices, little availability, I wrote to several hotels to obtain quotes and try and figure out room sizes, views, location in the hill and services. I finally settled on Villa Rosa and was glad when they had availabilities (several months out).

I booked a superior room as I wanted a terrace with both a village and sea view. Well, I got what I wanted. Our terrace was huge, with a parasol, large day bed, a coffee table and chairs, as well as a breakfast table and chairs. It was adored by beautiful flowers, and we did have that view that I was so keen on. I spent hours watching the yachts come in; or spying on the Franco Bar below's trendy clients... One afternoon, I even elected to stay there instead of going down to the beach.

Location is key in Positano, and the Villa Rosa was high enough for views, but low enough for our legs after busy days visiting.

Our room itself was large, with 2 twins beds set up as we had requested. The Air Con worked well, and we had some desk and cupboard to place our clothes in. There was no space for our make up in the bathroom, so we had to improvise, but everything in there was functional. The beds were very confortable and I loved the room decor. On very hot days, when we came after walking around, I could sit on a comfy chair inside OR a desk and still have that beautiful view. I like that there was a safe and minifridge. I am no aware if they had room service for snacks and drinks.

Note that there is no elevator though, so be ready for steps. They are large and easy to manoeuver though.

Breakfast was good with viennoiseries, cappucino, tea, fruits, bread, jam, charcuteries and cheese. You could get more for purchase, but we were fine with the offer. I loved that it was served outside, with white linens, and that we could pick the time of service. It was always on-time for us.

Service was excellent, and always with a smile.

This accommodation took me by surprise, it was so amazing. Its hard to find a good value hotel in positano as they are all very highly priced in comparison to the UK. I have to say, my room was all white, breakfast to the balcony every morning and the views would take your breath away. It is in a great location in positano as it has cafe, bakery and a few dining options close by. Its 10mins too beach. Across from the hotel is the famous le sirenuse and francos. I would recommend.

This is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. Each room in this hotel has either a terrace or a balcony. We were in room no.25 and we had the luxury of a large terrace which boasted stunning postcard views of Positano.

A lovely big breakfast was served daily to our terrace by Luca or Antonio and set up with a table cloth. The food itself was great, more than we could eat!

The staff were fabulous, especially Anna and Ersilia at the front desk in the day who assisted us make a restaurant reservation at Café Positano and to arrange an airport transfer for our departure from Naples Airport. Carmine worked the desk at night and on the morning that we planned to walk the Path of the Gods, he was kind enough to arrange our breakfast 'to go' and helped us with where the bus left from and timings.

Not only were the staff amazing during our stay, but prior to our arrival too. I really think booking directly goes a long way to building better relationships and in our case it really did. Owing to extenuating circumstances, we had to delay our holiday by a year, but the hotel and staff were accommodating and caring/ It was well worth the wait!! Shout out to Antonella and Carmela responding to emails.

The location of the hotel is ideal for all aspects of Positano. It's a short (but uphill) walk from the beach past shops. We arrived to Positano from ferry from Capri. We only had hand/cabin luggage which was manageable, anything more and I would recommend you either have the hotel arrange porter or accept the porter assistance upon arrival.

In terms of beaches, Fornillo is a better location than the more popular Spiaggia Grande which we found was generally full of Instagrammer. Fornillo is a short walk around the port under the well photographed archway. There you can hire a sunbed (between 25-30 euros) and hire kayaks from the Ristorante La Marinella (only 5 euros per hour).

We stayed for two nights. We loved it so much we tried to extend our stay but they were fully booked.

The decor and feel of the hotel is airy, feminine, and clean.

Our room was amazing. The view and location could not be better. We loved breakfast in our room.

The service is what makes this hotel. The offer drinks delivered to your room. They make reservations for you. They arrange drivers to pick you up from Naples.

This place was amazing. We will return. One of the best customer service experience we have ever had.

One small improvement that could be made is to provide and ironing board/iron as dry cleaning is unavailable on the day you arrive.

An absolutely perfect place to stay in Positano. The location of Villa Rosa is ideal & then you have also have a beautiful terrace & amazing views too. All of the staff we encountered were so genuinely friendly & helpful. The in room breakfast was an absolute treat & the gentleman who brings it takes so much care in setting up your table beautifully too. Thankyou to everyone who was working there for the 3 days we stayed (2nd - 5th June)

One word: unbelievable. This has to be one of the best value BnBs in all of Positano if not the Amalfi coast - each terrace has a terrific view of the city and the ocean (including the Li Galli islands) and the price is very affordable.

We had stayed in a superior room and requested for a big terrace (to be honest, all of them had large terraces) - the hotel obliged and it made our stay especially memorable. The room amenities are basic, but when you have such an excellent location and terrace - why stay in the room? Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

We stayed here for one night during our 10 day vacation to Italy and we wished we could have stayed longer. The staff was super nice and accommodating storing our luggage and then carrying them to our room. (no elevator of course)

Breakfast is served each morning on the balcony and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Our driver was taking us to Naples early in the morning so the hotel staff accommodated us by bringing our food early so we could eat before we leave.

The view and balcony is worth every penny. Do it. Splurge a little and get an ocean view room and enjoy yourself.

Stayed in the Villa Rosa Positano for 4 nights as a couple and our teenage daughter . Hotel is just beautiful and in a wonderful location . We were so lucky to get a room on the third floor with a huge terrace that had sun lingers and deck chairs along with table and chairs . Breakfast is such a treat being served out on the terrace . What a view , it’s just breathtaking. The first time you walk out those french doors you feel giddy . Staff are lovely and will organise restaurant reservations and taxis with no fuss . Be prepared for lots of climbing though as there are a lot of steps to get from beach to hotel and then more if you’re on the third floor . Just think of the calories being burned , makes up for eating pizza and pasta . Loved this side of Positano as you get sun on the balcony all afternoon . We definitely will be back .

Stunning views over the coast. Good breakfast on the private terrace.
Good parking service. Great location near the center.

Downside:
breakfast came way earlier (15-25 minimum!) than ordered - twice! You get it delivered on your private terrace and choose a 15 minute time-frame. Both mornings they came to our room way earlier than the chosen timeframe.
The bathrooms are tiny, have no natural light and are decorated like a children's bathroom from the 90s.

Trying to figure out where to stay in Positano was a little challenging but after I read some reviews on Villa Rosa we decided on it. And WOW it was incredible. They do a breakfast in your room every morning that is absolutely fantastic. The front desk knew exactly what room we were in and recognized us immediately after Day 1. I was thoroughly impressed. They had some great food recommendations and they were always there when you needed something. They work really hard to make your visit in Positano special. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Well done! A+++++

I had a room facing it and liked to listen to its music while relaxing on the patio. But no noise inside.
