Villa TreVille provides a unique, boutique hotel experience within a historic, oceanfront estate of about two hectares (five acres) in one of the most fascinating and exclusive places in the world: Positano on Italy's storied Amalfi Coast. This private paradise has an accommodation complex of four independent houses: Villa Bianca, Villa Rosa, Villa Azzurra and Villa Tre Pini. The villas contain a total of 15 guest suites, two with private gardens. Each suite is named after a special guest who has left his or her mark in the annals of the estate and on the arts world, their achievements honoured and recalled in part through the furnishings and art objects, with atmospheres further enhanced by the particular spaces and settings and uses of light and colour. Guests have exclusive access to the seaside sundecks and the dock for the estate's private motor launch through elevators and stone stairways cut into the landscaped, rocky promontory. The villas and amenities are artfully in harmony with the cliffside gardens and pathways that invite exploratory strolls between pergolas laden with vines and cascades of bougainvillea, where every turn can reveal touches of traditional craftsmanship and creative imagination. There are the original Vietri antique ceramics, or exacting reproductions, and extensive handiworks of local artisans such as the hand-painted plates produced exclusively for Villa TreVille by Rosalinda di Sorrento or the glasses made for the house by Venini, the historic Venetian manufacturer of glassware in Murano. The refurbishment of the entire property initially was under the artistic direction of Franco Zeffirelli, the opera and movie maestro who lived on the estate for 35 years. The work subsequently was continued with meticulous attention to essential details by the former proprietor, Giovanni Russo, who was advised by architect Fausta Gaetani, a friend of Mr. Zeffirelli's and a frequent guest at Villa TreVille.

We booked a private pasta cooking class at this property and were so surprised to discover this gem place! Next time we will definitely book a rooms here too. Location is wonderful, the decor is amazing and super special. The views over Positano simply stunning. Pasta learning experience with chef Vincenzo was great and we enjoyed every bit of it. Ate a lot of pasta while enjoying great atmosphere, setting and views. Looking forward to go back!

We visited Villa Treville for lunch in 2019 and had an amazing experience (I also wrote a good review on this). We couldn’t wait to come back but the experience was unfortunately entirely different this time. The view speaks for itself and was just as beautiful as last time. We had to ask for the drink menu as we were never given one and by the time the wine we chose arrived we had been there 45 minutes The food was okay but nothing special considering the price. My €40 truffle risotto was bland and didn’t taste of truffle at all. It all got very awkward and uncomfortable at the end when we asked if we could order a cocktail. It took over 50 minutes to arrive (meanwhile the only other table there had ordered two rounds of aperol spritzes which arrived in less than 5 minutes). When I chased this up with one of the staff she rolled her eyes at me and palmed me off to another waiter. Overall a €300 lunch in which towards the latter end we were made to feel like a huge inconvenience to the staff. If you’re making paying customers feel like they’re putting you out by being there then perhaps you shouldn’t be offering a lunch service at all.

a stunningly-located property laden with ancient tiles and antiques, and gorgeous views from every corner. However, we felt the service quality was below par: some of the hotel staffs were pretentious or ignorant, the drinking water and glasses in our room were not always replaced with new ones everyday, the bathmat was just 'recycled', and the floor was probably mopped only once before we checked in. We did enjoy the complimentary boat ride to Positano, and the drivers were always courteous and friendly. We stayed at Villa Boheme before Treville, and we would rate Boheme a notch above the latter.

Villa TreVille is outstanding and on many counts. It is the most amazing location with beautiful views of Positano. What I most liked is that it is 20 min walk away from the hustle and bustle of Positano and an oasis of privacy and calm. The vistas from every corner of the property are amazing. The grounds are beautiful and lush green, decorations are Morocco’s in styling and immaculate. The combination of the location, curated art and styling, stunning views and the privacy makes it a paradise on the Amalfi Coast. It is sparkling clean and wonderfully maintained. The housekeeping is excellent. The food is excellent and the bar has a wonderful collection with some lovely cocktails. The service is excellent at the restaurant from breakfast to dinner. The service focusses on privacy but whenever you ask for something assume it is done. The staff were friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is one of the best properties we have stayed in.

Visited for dinner. The restaurant is more expensive than alternatives in the local area, however, the experiences matches the cost. I read a review of someone suggesting the service was slow and dinner took too long - that’s unreflective. In Europe we like to enjoy our dinner over a longer period and shouldn’t feel rushed. This restaurant did it perfectly. Highly recommend

My now-husband and I actually had the pleasure of eloping at Villa Tre Ville, so it will always hold a special place in our hearts! We stayed in the Nureyev Suite for 2 nights, and the view from that room was absolutely, cannot-describe-in-words, breathtaking. We had incredible views from all of our hotel rooms on our Amalfi Coast trip (including Le Sirenuse, another hotel in Positano). But the views from Villa Tre Ville were, by far, the most jaw-dropping. No comparison. Service at the hotel was both attentive and warm. Everyone, from the front desk to housekeeping to the Maestro's waiters, made sure that all our needs were met, and did so with a smile. I have quite a few food allergies, which sometimes prevented me from ordering things from the menu. So several times, the kitchen was kind enough to whip up something off-menu that would be safe for me to eat, which was very much appreciated. Everything from Maestro's was delicious! The mushroom risotto we had during our elopement dinner was literally the best thing that we ate during our entire Amalfi Coast trip. (Which is really saying something, considering neither of us usually loves risotto, and we ate at some phenomenal restaurants.) But my husband and I literally still talk about that mushroom risotto (and the wine paired perfectly with it - hats off to the sommelier), 4 months after our trip... and we will probably continue to talk about it for years to come. Even for those who are not staying at the hotel, a visit to Maestro's is an absolute must, for the stellar food and incredible ambience. Because of its location, the hotel is insulated from the crazy crowds in the center of Positano town, which we really appreciated. Villa Tre Ville feels incredibly peaceful (not something you can usually say about Positano!), and I cannot imagine a more idyllic place to unwind, while enjoying the most "postcard pretty" views you have ever seen. We're already talking about when we'll return to Villa Tre Ville (and stay at the Nureyev Suite) again. We will for sure be back the next time we are in Positano! Small blurb for those considering getting married at the hotel: Our elopement was picture perfect and magical, and better than we ever could have imagined. The Villa Tre Ville employees involved with our elopement were so gracious, and went above and beyond to make sure that our experience was unforgettable. We truly could not have picked a better place to elope! This is not really about the hotel, but just a note for future brides getting married here: the dry cleaner that the hotel sent my wedding dress to post-ceremony did a poor job cleaning it. Long story short, my clearly "dry clean only" silk Carolina Herrera ballgown was likely washed in water. When I received it, it smelled strongly of perfumed laundry detergent (not dry cleaning solvent), and the previously voluminous skirt now lays completely limp. The dress cannot be reworn for our big wedding reception this summer, as I had been planning. Not at all a fault of the hotel (and I didn't really hate the excuse to get a new dress anyway), but just wanted to give other brides a heads up: wait and have your dress cleaned once you get home!

We spent 3 days in this amazing hotel, and everything has been perfect. The staff courtesy and attention to each and every detail was the signature of this luxury location, situated in the former properties of the legendary Italian Art Director Franco Zeffirelli. This is not simply an hotel, it is a sensorial experience. Zeffirelli’s properties was not just an house, but a portion of the Amalfi coast, and you will experience it by walking under the arbours till the hotel pier, where you can get you water taxi service that brings wherever you want along the Amalfi coast. All furniture are reflecting Zeffirelli taste , with floors out of potteries, maroquin-style lamps and many other details that gives the guest a feeling of unique experience. The moment you open your room balcony doors you start admiring the breath taking view of Positano and each time is a new experience…you will never get used to this. The staff was excellent in preventing any of our request in advance. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were simply delicious….we will be back again because this is not simply a luxury hotel. This is pure excellence from each and every point of view!

What can I say, this restaurant has the perfect location for a romantic dinner. From the minute we walked in the service was excellent, we were well looked after. The staff were excellent especially the host. We were very satisfied with the food and wine. The gardens and the location are just beautiful. I would recommend to anyone visiting Positano. Looking forward to returning for another amazing dinner.
