Villa TreVille provides a unique, boutique hotel experience within a historic, oceanfront estate of about two hectares (five acres) in one of the most fascinating and exclusive places in the world: Positano on Italy's storied Amalfi Coast. This private paradise has an accommodation complex of four independent houses: Villa Bianca, Villa Rosa, Villa Azzurra and Villa Tre Pini. The villas contain a total of 15 guest suites, two with private gardens. Each suite is named after a special guest who has left his or her mark in the annals of the estate and on the arts world, their achievements honoured and recalled in part through the furnishings and art objects, with atmospheres further enhanced by the particular spaces and settings and uses of light and colour. Guests have exclusive access to the seaside sundecks and the dock for the estate's private motor launch through elevators and stone stairways cut into the landscaped, rocky promontory. The villas and amenities are artfully in harmony with the cliffside gardens and pathways that invite exploratory strolls between pergolas laden with vines and cascades of bougainvillea, where every turn can reveal touches of traditional craftsmanship and creative imagination. There are the original Vietri antique ceramics, or exacting reproductions, and extensive handiworks of local artisans such as the hand-painted plates produced exclusively for Villa TreVille by Rosalinda di Sorrento or the glasses made for the house by Venini, the historic Venetian manufacturer of glassware in Murano. The refurbishment of the entire property initially was under the artistic direction of Franco Zeffirelli, the opera and movie maestro who lived on the estate for 35 years. The work subsequently was continued with meticulous attention to essential details by the former proprietor, Giovanni Russo, who was advised by architect Fausta Gaetani, a friend of Mr. Zeffirelli's and a frequent guest at Villa TreVille.

I first came across this eloquently beautiful property on Instagram about 2 years ago, and I knew I had to visit one day.
During our time in Amalfi, I was very kindly invited to carry out a site inspection of the property and dine in their infamous Maestro restaurant. More about that later on.
Villa Treville is a hidden treasure, and if you were not aware of its existence, you would never know it was there. The Villa is a truly unique boutique cliffside property, which boasts arguably the best views in the whole of Positano. My main blog image is you guessed it! (The Villa Treville Positano money shot) The property comprises of just 5 suites and 17 rooms which are split between 3 Villas.
The property is the first 5* villa complex on the Amalfi coast, where they offer their clients the highest level of service with meticulous attention to the finest of details. Given the location, you'll experience complete privacy while staying here. It's the perfect oasis to escape the external stresses of the world and now could not be a better time for that escapism!
Being shown around the grounds of the property which are so well established, there were times when It felt I was in the Caribbean or the jungle - The lush greenery of the vegetation was simply stunning. They even have the most fantastic greenhouse filled with tropical orchids and vines. Should you wish to watch the sunset while sipping your favourite Italian red or white in this location or somewhere else of your choice onsite - This can easily be arranged.
The Villa has the most fantastic abundance of history, with a selection of the suites being names after the Russain Ballet or some famous guests such as the infamous American composer Leonard Bernstein.
I didn't get the opportunity to view any of the suites but for a great reason. They were running at full capacity for the weekend, which was terrific to hear. Indeed not a surprise as I could see from the point of entering the property - They have the guest experience at the forefront of their minds, and they will tailor that to your exact requirements.
Following my tour provided by the Wonderful Daniela Barba (PA to the General Manager). We spent some time in the breathtaking Salone Biana which I can only describe a mystical Morrocan hideaway overlooking the Positano backdrop, with yachts and boats swaying in the crystal blue sea.
It's not often I become even more excited by a property once I've visited, but maybe it's because Villa Treville feels like home. I can't just recommend this Hotel. I implore to stay while visiting or dine with them at the very least. Thank you to Daniela and Aldo (F&B Manager) for looking after us, and I will most certainly be back.

Spent a couple of days with friends at Villa Tre Ville and we all loved it. Truly amazing hotel! The location is absolutely fantastic on the cliffs just outside of Positano, the rooms have an eclectic Italian charm with a luxurious twist and the food and wines were real Italian treats. The views overlooking the Mediterranean Sea is stunning in both rooms, the restaurant and the bar. There is no beach but the hotel have very impressive sun bed locations on the rocks below the hotel, as well as the beach club just a 5 minute boat ride away. In the C19 period, the resort was only half full, but we frankly enjoyed the vast space and great service that meant. Only drawback is not surprisingly the price. It is a hotel truly worth a detour....

We spent 3 days in this amazing hotel, and everything has been perfect. The staff courtesy and attention to each and every detail was the signature of this luxury location, situated in the former properties of the legendary Italian Art Director Franco Zeffirelli. This is not simply an hotel, it is a sensorial experience. Zeffirelli’s properties was not just an house, but a portion of the Amalfi coast, and you will experience it by walking under the arbours till the hotel pier, where you can get you water taxi service that brings wherever you want along the Amalfi coast.

All furniture are reflecting Zeffirelli taste , with floors out of potteries, maroquin-style lamps and many other details that gives the guest a feeling of unique experience. The moment you open your room balcony doors you start admiring the breath taking view of Positano and each time is a new experience…you will never get used to this. The staff was excellent in preventing any of our request in advance. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were simply delicious….we will be back again because this is not simply a luxury hotel. This is pure excellence from each and every point of view!

Villa TreVille is outstanding and on many counts. It is the most amazing location with beautiful views of Positano. What I most liked is that it is 20 min walk away from the hustle and bustle of Positano and an oasis of privacy and calm. The vistas from every corner of the property are amazing.

The grounds are beautiful and lush green, decorations are Morocco’s in styling and immaculate. The combination of the location, curated art and styling, stunning views and the privacy makes it a paradise on the Amalfi Coast. It is sparkling clean and wonderfully maintained. The housekeeping is excellent.

The food is excellent and the bar has a wonderful collection with some lovely cocktails. The service is excellent at the restaurant from breakfast to dinner.

The service focusses on privacy but whenever you ask for something assume it is done. The staff were friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is one of the best properties we have stayed in.

Maestro’s terrace restaurant offered an elegant and enjoyable experience based off of the atmosphere, food, drinks and service. My husband and I agreed that the restaurant met and exceeded all the expectations. The TreVille hotel, in which the restaurant is situated, gave an extremely positive impression, starting from the parking, to the lobby with the front desk gentleman, continuing to the wonderful waiters that we had during our lunch and ending with the general manager who interacted with us while we were admiring the place before leaving. The ambience, the decor, the view and the presentation of the food added the tasteful touch to our lunch. The food was just exquisite (I’d expect a Michelin Star approaching this restaurant in the near future) and everyone went extra mile to make us happy. I’d certainly recommend Maestro’s terrace restaurant to anyone who is looking to dine well and with class. Upscale, romantic and just fabulous - unforgettable memories!

Visited for dinner. The restaurant is more expensive than alternatives in the local area, however, the experiences matches the cost. I read a review of someone suggesting the service was slow and dinner took too long - that’s unreflective. In Europe we like to enjoy our dinner over a longer period and shouldn’t feel rushed. This restaurant did it perfectly. Highly recommend

My husband, son and I visited Villa Tre Ville for the day in early June 2023 on a recommendation from a GM in Rome. Wow were we grateful we took the suggestion! This was truly the most magical day of our weeklong trip to the coast.

The private boat to the grounds of the hotel was seamless (and pristine!) and was a trip in and of itself, seeing the town of Positano and Praiano from the water. Upon disembarking, you walk through winding gardens that are growing fresh veggies, fruits, and spices for the kitchen - and are also covered in colorful flowers and vegetation. The aromas are something else! There are endless places for vistas of Positano, lounging, and the houses are immaculately and colorfully decorated. Despite the heat, the insides were well cooled. The food for lunch was the freshest, most delicious we had on our trip - and the chef/staff were all incredibly welcoming of us with our8 mo son who needed a high chair! Do not skip out on the mozzarella here.

The manager, Martino, has done an incredible job of thoughtfully and creativity designing the spaces, focusing on sustainability, supporting a happy, passionate, and welcoming staff, and curating a pristine, memorable experience that encapsulates the calm and beauty of the Amalfi Coast. For anyone who can visit or stay, this is well worth the visit, and we cannot thank Martino or the staff enough!

Villa Tre Ville is one of the most amazing hotels I have ever been. The view is spectacular and the entire location is full of love into detail. You find your sun beds on the rock and there is a boat to the beach Club whenever needed. Rooms are not cheap but worth the invest. Simply the perfect Place for summer.

Beautiful and exquisite, this hotel is not only stunning but also has the incredibly helpful and hard working staff. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who would like a world class experience.

The Amalfi coastline is one of the most dramatic in the world. Summer months normally are very busy. I also like to come in May it is less hot and there are less people. In fact everything in Positano is usually open from April so even that time of year is good, not too hot and not too crowded.
