Detailed Reviews
If you are looking for top notch service and an amazing view, search no further than Villa Magia. Before the pandemic, my family and I meticulously combed through the reviews at all of the top hotels in Positano. Villa Magia stood out as one of the few establishments that was reasonably priced, offered stunning views, and had exemplary service. We originally booked our vacation for June of 2020, however Covid changed our plans. The hotel graciously offered us a voucher that exceeded the time limits required by law, and in June of 2021 we took advantage of that voucher.
When we arrived at the hotel, our expectations were not only met, but were far exceeded. The views were stunning. No pictures could do it justice. We had been travelling all day, so the staff kindly set up a late dinner for us, and it was beyond impressive.
The room: We booked a two bedroom suite with a terrace. The view from that terrace was breathtaking. The main bedroom even came with a huge bath tub that easily fit two people.
The location: The hotel is located above the main beach, hence the stunning views. To get to the main drag, one can descend around 150 stairs, or go up a few flights of stairs and get a taxi or bus. The bus stop is conveniently located to the property.
The staff: The best part of the hotel was the staff. Every single person we interacted with went above and beyond to provide us with exquisite service. One example, out of many, is the following:
When we originally booked this trip in 2020 my father was not coming due to a conflict, however, after the trip was rescheduled, he was able to make it. The problem, unfortunately, was that he could not handle all the stairs in Positano due to his age, an out of season heat wave, and the fact that the cliffs of Santorini had taken a significant toll on his feet and stamina the week before. Unfortunately for us, there are a few flights of stairs involved every time one wants to leave, and in the case of our two bedroom suite, even when one wants to go to the pool or dinner. While this shouldn't be a problem for most people, his age, the weather, and his foot ailments prevented him from enjoying the property and the town. When the staff was made aware of the situation they immediately jumped into action and offered several options to help us out. They ended up changing our rooms to a location that was much better suited for a person who has difficulty walking, and entirely changed our experience in Positano. My family will be eternally grateful to the staff at Villa Magia for ensuring that we were able to enjoy ourselves as a family, and make great memories.
Anyone who wants to come to Positano and stay somewhere with great views, great food, and even better people, should seriously consider Villa Magia. You will not regret it.

We had booked a late 2 week stay at Villa Magia, in the hope we could get away. Our return flights were cancelled before we left and had to extend our stay by an additional 4 days to fit in with the new return flight. This was not a problem for Villa Magia who advised that our room, The Queen Suite (room 8), would be ours for the duration of our stay.
We were very lucky during our stay in that the weather was excellent and the hotel and Positano were virtually tourist free due to the Covid situation and the time of year. Unfortunately this did mean that some restaurants and public transport (ferries) were not open or running, but this enabled us to spend more time within the hotels grounds and to make use of our stunningly large terrace.
We had breakfast either delivered to our room to eat on our terrace or on the pool terrace which had magnificent views over the sea.
The reception staff were very helpful all the time and could not do enough for you - from making restaurant reservations (and in our case checking if restaurants were open) and providing day trip suggestions. When we hired a scooter for the day, they even took the keys for the rental company to collect later that day.
You are given an iphone when checking in and this is used to contact reception when required via whatsapp.
As we were staying so long we were lucky enough to dine at Luna for 4 evenings. The food was excellent and freshly cooked, with the chef accommodating any additional requests we had and even arranged for a whole fish for us to share one evening. We dined outside on the terrace three times and enjoyed the evening view of Positano and once indoors when the weather was inclement.
We had an issue with the double sunbed that was on the terrace in that it was very uncomfortable as neither of us could sit straight on it - this was highlighted to a member of staff and replaced with 2 separate sunbeds straight away when we were having breakfast on the pool terrace - excellent service.
Overall everything about our stay at Villa Magia was perfect and we would definitely stay here again should we be back in Positano as well as recommending this place to others to stay.
It is not cheap but well worth the money to spend time in your own little secluded oasis in Positano.

We booked Villa Magia as part of our mini moon break and cannot fault the service from start to finish. Excellent views, great breakfast and 10/10 facilities , nothing is too much! The ladies on reception are excellent and cannot do enough for you, to be honest all the staff are friendly and will always go out of their way to help you or just say hello. I would fully recommend this hotel as we have done to our family if visiting Positano.
If we plan on visiting again we would definitely stay here, location wise it is perfect as you are not too far away from the beaches or the centre of Positano with a good selection of restaurants around. Unfortunately we never had enough time to experience the Luna restaurant at Villa Magia but would hopefully do next time! There are always stairs and steps no matter where you stay in Positano.
Again, customer service is excellent and always on point with near enough instant response day or night! Thank you to all the staff that made our stay memorable!

We stayed for 5 nights during our Italy road trip and this may be the best accommodation we have had during this trip. The view is like no other! The room (although we got a rather "standard" one) had a beautiful terrace! You can choose to have breakfast on your private terrace, on the big villa terrace or by the pool - all free of charge. The staff are by far the best staff we found so far!!! The pools are great and they even took care of parking our car safely (this was a big point for us). Although the cocktails and the breakfast were excellent if I have to say the only slightly average point was dinner at the Luna restaurant. But all and all Villa Magia was a 5+ star experience!

We are a family of four (kids 10 and 12) and we all found Villa Magia to be absolutely magical. The communication prior to arrival was great and they were happy to book all of our dining reservations in advance for us, as well as arrange for anything else needed (transportation, excursions, etc). It is truly a five-star experience. We stayed in Villa 8 and the views were breathtaking. Breakfast was included (you order the night before whatever you like) and you could have it brought to your room or have it on the terrace restaurant. We had it brought to our room each morning and ate on the large outdoor patio. The location is perfect as it is up high enough to have an incredible view of all of Positano, but low enough where you can easily walk to the town center in 10 minutes. After walking all over Positano, we realized we couldn’t have had a better location than Villa Magia. The onsite restaurant Luna also had the best food, best service, and best view of our entire trip (see Luna for review). Each room is unique, and ours had a steam shower, high tech amenities, beautiful finishes, and couldn’t have been more perfect. The front desk, concierge, and cleaning staff were also top notch. The gentleman who took care of luggage and brought our breakfast every morning was probably the most friendly, kind, and caring staff member we’ve ever met on a vacation. A nice touch is you are given a phone for texting / calling the concierge 24/7 for all of your needs. This was incredibly convenient and added to the comfort of our stay. Villa Magia is an incredible experience and we will definitely be back.

We came here as part of our honeymoon. We stayed in the most gorgeous king room with the best view in the hotel in my opinion. First - I want to say the staff at Villa Magia go above and beyond for you. Before we even arrived they are imessaging you to ensure you have the smoothest arrival. Throughout your stay they are so kind and helpful. We had a beautiful breakfast delivered to our room every day at the time we decided. It was so delicious! There was Netflix in the room which really helped as since we busted positano in November it was completely rained out for an entire day. Cold and rainy was the perfect room service Netflix day with the sea in our view from the bed! Marilu directed us in the path of so many restaurants when we did venture out several times. The amenities were great and the room was super spacious. I wouldn’t say the room was modern or outfitted luxuriously, but it is 100% worth the stay and felt authentic. The lobby was so eclectic. You also can’t beat the view. I would recommend Villa Magia and I will definitely want to stay there again. The service, the view, and the overall experience was wonderful!
One thing - you will definitely want to come back to positano and this region of Italy, but if you are the type that will only come once in a lifetime, come in the Summer! Although it wasn’t overly cold, most of everything was closed (restaurants, shops, ferries, boats, etc). It was actually nice having the streets to ourselves but I think this really is a summer town! Don’t miss out on that.
Regardless if you come in summer, fall or winter - Villa magia will treat you so wonderfully! So that is a given.

Villa Magia is spectacular - gorgeous views of Positano from every spot in the hotel. The staff were warm and welcoming and gracious. The room we were in was super spacious and very clean. The staff was very quick to help with requests and reservations and made great recommendations.

We picked Villa Magia for our short stay in Positano. The hotel and the rooms are even «more beautiful than on the pictures. We were amazed! We had a suite with the most beautiful balcony with a lemontree canopy and plenty of orchids, ferns and other lush plants, a hot tub and private hammam topped with the most beautiful sea-view and panoramas on Positano. Wonderful staff, we were treated as a king, spotlessly clean. Wonderful breakfast served on our private balcony. We also had diner on the terrace, great food, great service! One of the most beautiful and best hotels I ever stayer in, and I am a well travelled explorer…
Keep up the good work and for the entire staff, thank you so much!!!

I wish they had a 6/5 ranking on Trip Advisor because that's what I would give Villa Magia!!! This is truly a heavenly place to stay. From the minute you walk up to the villa with its jasmine trees making the air smell even more sweet you are blown away by the beauty of its views and terraces. Every detail has been thought out and we have rarely stayed in a place that has thought of everything that you might need! We stayed in the family villa and had the most delicious breakfasts on our private terrace, which was truly MAGICAL! The rooms were pristine with gorgeous decorations and amenities. Do yourself a favor and get a room with a sea view...you will be so happy every time you look out the window. Their restaurant Luna is incredible with gourmet and fresh dishes served on the stunning terrace. The location is stunning and quiet and a little set away from the hustle and bustle of the city center, with easy access to town right outside the doors. The staff are just beyond professional. Each and every staff member made us feel welcome and special. They go out of their way to make your stay as perfect as possible...and it was! STAY HERE and be so happy with your stay in Positano!
