Last 4 years every year in april I stay for a week in Ostello della Chiara. I already know all the stuff. They are really nice and educated and make you feel at home, if you need any information about the bus, city or other they will help you with it. There is 2 computers for guests. On the dormitory... As noted by others, you are staying in a former monastery with huge ceilings, an open courtyard and wide halls. Everything is spotless. They have a small fridge, microwave, but no utensils nor open kitchen. The machine makes all different varieties of coffee, but no hot chocolate. There is a supermarket on the next block. Wifi was spotty when I... More

I stayed for quite a long period in the old hostel in Reggio Emilia years ago, and this new hostel is run by the same, very friendly people. Nice to see continuity. The hostel is located in an old religious building, the rooms looking onto the inner courtyard. The courtyard is used as an al fresco dining area and concert... More

The place is magnificent, drinkig morning coffee in the garden is divine. The staff was very helpfull. Breakefeast is simple, they offer coffee and some cereals, honey and jem,... More

This hostel was a delight to behold with high vaulted ceilings and wide corridors. Meals were great although late. Laundry facilities on site and available. Wide screen viewing of the Olympics for olympic starved travellers. But due to a faulty door lock we were robbed of cameras and I phones. Management were initially reluctant to contact the police. This hostel is set in an enormous old basilica framing an internal courtyard and surrounded by portico's. Unfortunately, the hostel has made no attempts to capitalise on this setting with their drab offering. The rooms are basic and straddle cavernous and sterile hallways that make you feel like you are in some sort of asylum...(but are the only inmate). The... More
