Detailed Reviews
Il Riccio makes you feel at home. Monia & Raffaele, the young owners, have built a boutique hotel with a quality you can only find in the Alps. The building is designed elegantly, with high quality materials, all needed accessories. The location is "children free" so silence is predominant, especially if you take a room on the first floor facing the garden. Monia & Raffaele are friendly, helpfull and real pros. Moina bakes daily a selection of seven to nine different superb cakes for a super breakfast, while Raffaele among his dozen duties finds time to create home liqueurs. The hotel is walking distance fron Roccaraso's center and close to good restaurants. Easy free private parking. A must go place!

Very refined hotel (B&B but they have an agreement with a restaurant just the other side of the road), cosy and charming in neo-Alpine style. Ideal for families with children and aged people (lift and big terrace where grannies can spend the day reading and young children can play in enchanting backyard garden). Very friendly and discreet welcoming. Ideal to discover hiking in the nearby parco nazionale d'Abruzzo and ideal to get there with own car in winter (spacious parking space with direct connection to garage and lift). Cherry on the top: small library and traditional games in the spacious living with fireplace! Maybe the best hotel facility in the Abruzzi.

We stayed a week with friends and their family for a ski trip. Fantastic welcoming personal hotel. Nice breakfast but a shame that an additional coffee was chargeable. Very clean and comfortable with staff that couldn't do enough to help us out
We'll be back ..... The ski area is excellent too

apologies for the late and written english review but I had to make sure I provided great things to say for this place! We couldn't have been happier, the owners were amazing and made us feel so comfortable and welcomed. They truly went out of their way for us and made our 2011 new year and friend's 30th birthday extra special. I would highly recommend this place to everyone considering staying in this area, wait till you taste the breakfast cakes!

How refreshing it is to arrive at a clean and cosy hotel where nothing is too much trouble.
We were a team of middle aged men in Lycra and were looked after superbly. I wish them luck in this venture as when somebody tries this hard they need to be rewarded.
Thank you for being so accommodating. We loved your hospitality.

Stayed here for one night 29th feb with my partner and another couple. Just by pulling up in the car you could tell it was the best hotel around all lit up with fairy lights. Had a warm welcome from a lovely receptionist who offered us coffee straight away. Nothing was too much trouble for her. She gave us a list of restaurants the hotel recommended with a discount voucher to use which was a really nice gesture. Reception area was lovely. Big warm fireplace and a nice bar gave it a real cosy log cabin feel to it- perfect after a tiring day of skiing!! We were shown to our rooms which were immaculate! Big comfy beds and lovely modern bathroom, everything spotlessly clean. We decided to go to a pizza restaurant up the road from the list we had been given (which exceeded all expectations!) We had a drink around the fire before we left and the lady from reception brought us nibbles too!Breakfast AMAZING! So much variety of cakes/yogurts/pastries/hams and cheeses, cereals, omelettes anything you wanted and provided. There were also little bags on the table to take away left over food. We were very sad to leave and wish we'd have booked more than one night. Will definitely be returning :) .

The best hotel! Not only in the region but in general.
Intimate hotel, on the one hand the most modern technologies on the other hand is designed in a modern style wooden superb ... just beautiful.
And the service could not be better
Raffaello which has recommended the local restaurants and the tourist Tour Routes, and more!
Excellent breakfasts, lovely garden and stunning rooms.
Conveniently located relatively close to the town center but is in a very quiet in the suburbs town.

Our stay at Il Riccio was by far one of the highlights, hotel wise, of the trip. From the beginning to the end of our stay, the staff was delightful and, though our Italian was limited, accommodated us in every way possible. The breakfast was amazing, with delicious pastries, drinks, and even fresh, warm croissants. The whole hotel was very cute and impeccably clean. Highly recommended.

This was a real find! Rustic yet very charming. All the modern conveniences and comforts you can ask for and the owners make you feel special.
We only wished we could have stayed more than one night. This will definitely be a stop for us on our next trip to Italy!

We stayed here for a full week to snowboard and search for local property. Perfect location, just a 5 min walk into the town. Welcome was fantastic, relaxed, couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was lovely every day. Room even nicer than the website suggests (as is the hotel as a whole). Although the hotel is 3 years old, it looks like its only a couple of months old- well kept, pristine condition, comfortable yet funky. The log fire always roaring in reception after a long day in the snow! Fridge in the room is also a real bonus.
Our only crticism would be the room we had was right next to reception/main corridor entrance/lift. This in itself wouldn't have been a problem had it not been for some other guests selfishly dragging suitcases along the tiled floors early in the morning, stomping along the corridors in heavy boots and shouting down the corridors. The hotel is also very family friendly but again, this was abused by parents not keeping young children from running up and down the corridor and shouting until past 11pm, despite signs requesting otherwise. Not really the hotel's fault I guess though. All in all a thoroughly fabulous place, would also happily visit in Summer.
