We loved the warm welcome from reception. The rooms are very clean and tidy and comfortable. Food is plentiful and amazing quality. It is like staying with your Italian family! Particular call out for a very attentive waiter Giovanni who took very good care of us all week. We will definitely return!

The location is great, the staff is very professional but like most of the places I have visited lack of music, good drinks and good food. The outside is great but the public areas and the restaurants need some updating. I have used all the areas of the hotel including the bar and restaurant on the rear and I have found it "mediocre". The slopes are just right if you like a quite week-end and you are lucky to find fresh snow. The food offering for the DBB was brodino, omelette and speck & mozzarella..... Please!!! You are in Italy!! The restaurant staff is great and I like to thank them for the very good poached eggs at breakfast.

The experience was great, the staff was more than friendly, the food excellent. Incredible location, nice and peaceful, surrounded by mountains, the hotel was the only building in the valley. Everything was perfect.

This was my second time here, the first being in 2016 and it was just as fantastic as the first time. The rooms are spacious, exceptionally clean and best of all, warm all day! Located right next to the slopes, all you have to do is go out, put on your ski equipment and take either the chair lift or car lift which connects you to all the slopes around Roccaraso. You also get discounts on renting gear and a courtesy coupon to the spa for you and your partner, for an hour.
The entertainment in the evenings were fun (if you understand some Italian) and the staff are always on hand to tend to your requests with a warm smile on their faces.
Best of all is the food and the service of the Maite’d and his team. Absolutely divine, delicious and plentiful original Italian cuisine. The waiter assigned to our table, Alessandro, was really attentive to our preferences and so also were the others.
A truly awesome experience. Highly recommended!

We stayed for 5 days in February. The hotel is perfectly situated right on the slopes, with super easy access to all amenities inc ski hire & passes. ski schools & most importantly to the ski lifts which take you up to the slopes. The hotel itself is warm and inviting if a little dated. The staff were all extremely welcoming, friendly & helpful throughout our stay. We were half board and the food was for the most part good with lots of variation to the menu. The 'Abruzzo' night (typical dishes from region) was excellent. The staff in the restaurant were also great, no request was too much. We had wine (extra) that they kept for us over a few evenings rather than having to drink all in one sitting. Bacon & eggs freshly cooked for us each morning. The 'cons' to the hotel & area were that drinks in the bar were so expensive @10€ a pint!! There were 4 of us & a few pints after the slopes are always a must for us, but just too expensive on this trip! We would have frequented the bar more often if the prices were more reasonable. We ended up driving down to Roccaraso and buying beers, soft drinks & snacks there, but this also meant we spent a lot more time in our room than we would have liked. There are activities daily run by the hotel but there aren't any bars, restaurants nearby in the evening. I would say that this hotel is perfect for families with young kids, people with older kids or groups looking for 'apres ski' & night life might get bored especially if here without a car.

We stayed at Pizzalto right after New Year for three nights. We were friendly welcomed at the arrival. The warm, familiar and friendly athmosphere was second to none. The meals were great (we had chosen the full board with a 2 course lunch and a 3 course dinner) and there was not much time to wait between the courses. Rooms were clean and OK, but not the kind that you want to sit in and socialize. That happened downstairs in the lobby, where there was kids entartainment, afterski happenings and after dinner a show and some dancing. Covered all needs. The situation of the hotel, right at the foot of the Pizzalto ski lift was perfect, and ski rental, ski school and ski passes right outside of the hotel. All in all, very convenient and comfortable. Two small negatives were the somewhat hard beds and the somewhat loud night enteratinment (if you wanted an early night in bed) - but the noise stopped at 11PM or so, so no biggie.

We spent three nights at this hotel and it was excellent. The rooms were comfortable and clean, meals were delicious and generous, and the service was outstanding. I think it was the friendly professionalism of the staff that really made our stay such a success. Standards were high and everyone was ready to help ... it was impossible to be disappointed with anything. We were on the ski lifts first thing, back for lunch, and then virtually skied through the back door at the end of the day. Fantastic! Thanks Pizzalto.

Superb hotel !! excellent ... 100% familiar atmosphere! We stayed 5 days.
Excellent food and service at the restaurant - real personalized service!
Outstanding group of young people organizing the activities for babies, kids and adults. My kids, 12 and 11 loved it .... they want me to book already for next year!!!
Spa - excellent, the personal is familiar and very professional, kudos for all of the girls working there.
I have zero complaint - only counting the days to return to the hotel! We even got a sourvenir bottle of wine from the front desk after greeting all of them - we almost stayed :)

Hotel Pizzalto is a great destination from all points of view. It deserves the highest of ratings when considering a family stay, especially one with small children.
It's location right on the slopes of the ski resort makes life for little skiers incredibly convenient and comfortable. There are no long walks to make with heavy boots and skis. All of the children's positive energy can concentrate on the actual skiing.
The ski school office is placed right in front of the hotel, making life easy for parents as well. The quality of the work with little children of some of the ski instructors was extraordinary. Instructors Manuel and Giovanna were outstanding with my five year old son.
The hotel's mini club works very well. The enthusiasm of the young organizers, Martina, Massimino and Valerio, is contagious. The are no doubts that children will enjoy the music, games and art activities.
The food and service at the hotel's restaurant also deserve a mention. High quality ingredients are the secret, I believe. All the dishes tried during a week-long stay were very good (desserts could be improved), oftentimes excellent. The maitre and staff were impeccable in carrying out their duties and very friendly with children.
The hotel's front desk staff was also warm in their welcome and very efficient (I remember the names of Giusy and Algisa but all were very good).
On top of all of this, there was amazing snow this year! Who could ask for more?!

We stayed for 2 nights mid-week. We booked this hotel because of its direct access to the Pizzalto ski lift. We wanted ski in ski out and this is exactly what we got and believe this hotel is the only one in the area which offers this. It was in a perfect location which meant no wasting time waiting for ski buses or driving and parking. We could drive up and park for free at the hotel. A porter service was available to take out bags from the very snowy car park. The front of house staff (3 ladies) were extremely helpful and allowed us have our bedroom early. The room was very comfortable with a balcony and stunning mountain view. Although there was only 2 of us it did have an upstairs bedroom with two extra beds and another bathroom, which would make a great family bedroom. The hotel is very popular with Italians on 1/2 and full board so there was no ala carte menu but the food was very good local fare but slightly expensive at 40 euros per head, although that was for four courses. Do have to take into account the location having a bearing on cost with it being a ski resort hotel. All waiting staff were extremely friendly, helpful and very welcoming as, indeed, were all the staff. The hotel is some 6km from Roccaraso so no local night life but hotel runs very active children's club during the day with events for adults into the evening which were fun and a chance to improve your Italian. One thing to be aware of is the hotel is on the piste so you do hear the rumble of the snow cannons working overnight (like a dull extractor fan noise). It is easy to ignore this noise but it may be worth asking for a room that is not facing the mountain, althought the plus value of that view is worth considering. Definitely will return and will try to use 1/2 board as prices for this are very competitive.
