Not the most luxurious rooms, but full of charm and always super clean and neat. The staff was always very friendly and ready to help. You can rent a bike for only 2 euros / hour. However, I missed a cozy living room where we could enjoy a coffee or drink. 10-15 min walk from the port or La Pigna.

OUTDATED WITH HYGIENIC ISSUES Having a business in this part of town (Foce District), we stayed here several times (twice a month) and we also send here several of our suppliers. Over 25 nights have been paid to Villa Sophia by the underwriter throughout 2019. We usually occupy room 310 in the dependence, being more spacious and away from the main building which is being renovated while the guests are in nearby rooms. Even if we informed first the reception and then even Mr. Tirone the owner of the business, the leaking basin and the red and smelling water in the same, in the bidet as well as in the shower were never fixed. In December 2019 this became a sanitary issue. Hence this year, we have decided to stay in an other hotel in town where cleaning and hygiene are not an option. G&B Novelli, Geneva, Switzerland.

When you take the exit off the main road and turn the corner into the hotel courtyard, the tranquility immediately hits you. The former monastery offers spacious clean rooms with good quality large beds. It is very quiet at night. Some of the bathroom equipment like the shower cabin was in need of an upgrade and showering in the morning was sometimes a bit of a challenge as other people were using warm or cold water resulting in a hot or cold surprise. Breakfast in the previous chapel is extensive for Italian standards with lots of choices and with many products freshly prepared. For dining in the evening, Carlo, the maitre’d, runs a tight ship. Nice pure local dishes served in a quick tempo (you select from the menu the night before). Wide selection of home made desserts and an adequate list of local wines to choose from at fair prices. The chairs on the hotel beach are not included. We enjoyed our 5 day stay with the friendly staff.

The hotel is located near the beach and offers its own Villa Sophia beach although even if you are a guest you would be paying for a sun lounge and umbrella. There are plenty of other nicer beaches around the hotel, although the staff were amazing at Villa Sophia, both the hotel and the beach. The breakfast was plain and lacked variety -same options every day, however, as I was only there for three nights it was fine. The centre of San Remo is just 10 minutes enjoyable walk by the sea, and it is a beautiful city. One thing I found extraordinary about this hotel was the cleanliness.

We was wondered about staff of hotel-very friendly. when was our last day, they allowed bicycles for us during 2 hours( it was time after check out-10 a.m. And offered wonderful launch). The cuisine was marvelous, daily we could choose any dishes from menu and ordered for future launch or dinner. Waitress was kind and all the time smile, even teach our son to say-Grazie. I'm sure we could find another hotel for this price with pensione completa.

My wife and I toured Italian and French Rivera together with another couple. We checked into Villa Sophia for one night on Sunday, June 21, 2017. We booked two double rooms that were described as large. The rooms were located in the attic of the structure away from the main building. The windows were tiny. It was impossible to fit the chair between the bed and the desk in our room, making the desk useless. The air conditioner did not work and was not fixed during our stay. The elevator stopped working, so we had to carry our luggage downstairs. All that, however, was not the most serious problem with the hotel. The keys to our rooms were the "skeleton" type. Each key opened all the other guest room doors in the building. Just imagine being a single female traveler staying here. Another, and even more serious, transgression was committed by the reception staff. We were asked to leave our passports to be photocopied, unpack in our rooms and return to retrieve the documents later. After about and hour later I returned to the main building reception, found it empty with our passport abandoned on the counter in plain view and reach. It was longer than just a few minutes when the receptionist returned to the station. My complaint about failure to protect our passports was met by her with incredulity that it should be an issue at all. If you wish to risk losing your travel documents and then deal with all the trouble that would be heaped up on you, then by all means stay in this hotel. However, the breakfast was delicious.

Dear MR Andrzej, We take note of your disappointment expressed both on this site and on other information channels, in relation to your experience at our Hotel, We assure you that we have received your message correctly. We would like to inform you that during our customer registration process, our staff always prefers to keep the documents in order to speed up the procedure and allow the customer to occupy the room immediately. A video surveillance system and access to the facility through a secret code ensures the safety of our guests. Sincerely, it does not turn out that our keys work as passpartout to open all the rooms, and in case you could have done so, for whatever reason, it would have been helpful and correct for you to inform us immediately. However, we are moved by your appreciation for breakfast and location that together with our staff have always been one of our strengths. Cordially.

Awesome hotel set in a lovely quiet location. The lively hustle and bustle of San Remo is left behind as you walk 50 yards off towards the beach and into the hotels pretty garden. Big, clean rooms with plenty of cool shade in summer. Having the private garden and easy access to the cycling and beachfront cycle path is great. Staff are friendly and efficient. Loved it.

A very positive experience - 50m from the beach, but still a quiet location, no road noise at all. Reasonable room size, high ceilings and small garden, a former monastery building with private parking on-site and fence. The restaurant is just fantastic, really recommend to try lunch and/or dinner. Canelloni and tagliatta really deserve a Michelin star. Really helpful and friendly management and the staff. The only complaint - the stay was too short.
