The hotel has been booked from me via hotels.com and the room has been paid before my arrival. The room cost 200€ and was appox 10 qm big and had a window with a view into a small stinky interior space. Once arrived to the room I checked in Internet and found a room for the same day in this hotel for 100€. Asking at the reception for the reason I have been told that I had bad luck, the room would have been paid via hotels.com and they could not give any money backnow. They would give us an “upgrade” to a “balcony room”. This room was equipped with furniture in bad condition from the 70ies, the balcony was a whole of 1,5 sqm in the roof with dry plants on it. I never felt that ripped off from both a hotel and the Internet portal. The hotel in general needs an urgent refurbishment, see pictures The location is fine.…

Thank you so much for the review and for the stay, even the criticism help to grow. I remember well what happened, were the days close to Easter. She was also a customer accustomed to other room sizes as she said to me usually going to a residence near us ( we are a two star hotel and not a residence) The room booked was a double economy, as the name suggests not the best. She was also offered an alternative room with a balcony that she felt not up to. His is a cost-quality assessment made towards a residence. On its own channel our hotel is rated 3.8 out of 5 with 408 reviews and on another sales channel 8.4 out of 10 with 617 reviews. Best regards from reception

We stayed at this hotel for a week for the festival. The room is not so big and old. Breakfast was ok, but coffee was awful. And there were no eggs for breakfast. We liked the cleaning service very much.

We remember that ours is not a luxury hotel but a two star hotel , our mission is to provide good service at an affordable price. For both double and triple rooms we have two types of rooms, economy or standard, triple or triple on a balcony and wider. As a corollary of the description there are several dozen photos , of rooms , common environments , halls. Being essentially three old bourgeois villas tied together in a beautiful garden very centrally located this is a setting that is and will always (?) be popular. Add spcaious rooms and decent bathrooms and a lot of old charme and superb view from many of the rooms and all is well except a breakfast that is a little bit of a joke. Minor detail, as you can always go to a nice cafe nearby.

Thank You for the stay in our hotel Villa Maria and for this beautiful review. Our hotel is as you indicated correctly divided into 3 buildings, 2 were ancient villas and one is a renowned 50s hotel called NIzza. Many showers and rooms have been renovated in the last 3 years but we wanted to keep the general layout of the hotel in style.The common areas are large and with original furnishings, you can enjoy a hot tea or read a book. VillaMaria also has free unguarded parking, a garden and is near the center and the beachesWe regret that the breakfast was not to your liking because we reserve a lot of resources. The croissants are fresh every Sunday including (empty / cream / chocolate / jam), there is a buffet with edamer cheese, salami and ham, fresh bread, celiac corner, orange and multivitamin juice, cerals of 2 types, butter soft cheeses, white and fruit yoghurt, cake (we change flavors often can be fruit tart or chocolate cake or lemon cream) Breakfast biscuits. Also the coffee inside the machine is of Arabian quality. Many weekends, holidays, and high season boiled eggs and local specialties such as focaccia and sardinara. I needed a single room for one night only due to unexpected delay in leaving sanremo. This hotel fit the bill for a cheap night in a very clean and comfortable room. Breakfast was good with a selection of things on offer. Lots of fruit and selection of pastries and bread. Staff friendly, good location close to the town.

I stayed in a single room in the older villa, all good. Very central, very clean, good breakfast. They let me stay until 1230 the next day as the room wasn't booked, very generous. Sanremo isn't a place that you would want to hang around though. Molto pulito, vicino centrale, la colazione generosa.

We stayed at this hotel last Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. It is a great place to stay. Very well situated and very comfortable. We look forward to going back soon. My wife stayed here in April and really enjoyed it. So much so she brought me back and we had a great time.

The breakfast was very good and the welcome was good. I had the impression that the owners were very conscious of their past reviews here and had done stuff to improve things. Our room was massive, with a balcony and lots of charm. I would recommend this place for its closeness to town, the charm and the feeling that the owners really want to make a go of it.

This Hotel's location is a five minute walk from the sea up a steep hill. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The staff at reception were friendly and helpful. Variety at breakfast was limited. Cereal, juice, croissants, rolls, cheese, ham, salami, yogurt and limited fruit. The breakfast waiter likes everything just and can be a bit cross. The internet signal is not very strong.

We stayed in Sanremo for one night recently and found the Hotel Villa Maria to be an excellent spot with excellent value. For one thing, it offers free parking, a rarity in many cities in southern Europe. Second, the building and the rooms are old but comfortable. We had a first floor room with a small patio. Finally, breakfast was very good and included. I should also mention how friendly and helpful the staff were including the lovely dog who sat at the front while his master worked.

Friendly, charming and interesting, a unique experience, A budget hotel so rooms are basic but clean and tended to daily and the breakfasts plentiful. What sets this hotel apart is the overall charm of the place, it would have been the hight of opulence a century and a half ago and the sitting rooms retain the furnishings and character of that era so relaxing in them is in itself an experience..it even has its own chapel!. Staff are very helpful and pleasant making us feel very welcome
