This fading hotel was stuck somewhere in the 1960's and not in a good way. Beside the fact and it has parking onsite, there isn't any real positive to say about it. Decoration is horrible. Beds are not comfortable. In the room you can hear the elevator machine, the toilet vent and the people from the next room. Closets from the 1960's. broken floor tiles. The room is equipped with an air condition system but its activation requires extra payment (?!). It very much like you have a shower in the room and they will ask you for extra payment for the water. The staff is nice and helpful, it seems they are not the problem.

Just a short walk from the town centre and seafront, this hotel had lovely comfortable beds (with blissful air conditioning if you've spent the day wandering through Ventimiglia Market in 31 degree sunshine). The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful, and the breakfast options were fantastic. We really loved the sizeable balcony in our room and the pool was the perfect spot for a post-lunch pennichella!

Stayed here for 10 days mid September. Hotel staff exceptional, even went the trouble of going to look for my husband when he got lost in the one-way system. Room spacious with great balcony and Seaview. Breakfast really good except hot food was cold. The pool and outdoor seating area was great place to relax and enjoy a G&t or 3!! We will definitely go back and bring our friends. Icing on the cake for us was this liitle friendly cat, if they are your thing you will love her.

Evry day we have had a smell of something burning in our room, moreover a few times per a day there was a sound of broken glass or something like this (at 7 a. m. and at 12 p. m usually). We have paid more for a balcony and what have we got?? When I said about this problem at the reception nobody answered because this particular person doesn't speak English. So I explained in French. But the dialog was very short,I'm not sure that he understood something.

Response from resorprincipe, Direttore at Hotel Principe

Hello, we are really sad about your review, because is not exactly as you write, sorry. There was probably a big misunderstanding according to the smell that you claim about. My collegue, also if he doesn't speak a very good english, understood your complain and checked in different time the problem, but neither him nor the housekeeper felt this smell. We asked also to the nearest room and noone complain about it, so was impossible for us to find a solution and we are very sorry about it. According to the payment of balcony it's another thing. We have 3 categories of rooms: basic (economy standard) that have only a double bed, no air conditioning (only a fan) and no safe, are 13 mq and part of them have no balcony. Than we have the standard balcony (the one that you booked) where you can have double or twins bed, balcony, safe, minibar and are about 17 mq. Than we have the standard sea view that have a bigger balcony overlooking the pool and the sea and are of 19 mq able to admit until 3 pesons in it. This just to explain the difference among the prices, that must be explained about the travel agency that sold you out hotel. Finally we excuse ourselves for the problem you had but we don't want that you think that we didn't understand or didn't take care of your words. All our guests are very important fou us, an it's really a pity for us that you were not happy with us, also because it doesn't seemed when you where here. Hope to see you again maybe!!

Big rooms, good view (we can see the sea from our room)... but they can improve the breakfast... If you like coffee you should ask for Italian Coffee to the attendants. You have free parking too... Fear Deal!

The hotel is a steep climb up from the coast line (5 minutes is giving wrong impression) accomodation very poor, and bathroom and sanitary unhygienic, ours had a terrible smell of reflux, and cleaning personel always closed the balcony door and open bathroom door so the smell could invade and delight us when we came back. parking overfull, nightporter has to play tetris with the cars to liberate yours. breakfast is all from tins, and sugary (italian problem) and coffee was nescafé (in ITALY!) I would not reccomend this hotel even if the price was halved... lift very slow, idem Wifi

Our guests 'comments are really valuable to us when they are made consistently, as it is our constant commitment to offer hospitality ever better and our customers' contribution is crucial. It should be noted, however, that his opinion and observations are the result of his singular and exclusive opinion, and nevertheless absolute. YOU HAVE YOU HAD A ROOM WITH SUPER LAST MINUTE, ECONOMIC TYPE, WE HAVE ALSO SUPERIOR ROOMS AND SUITE, BUT FOR THE PRICE LECONOMY MADE AVAILABLE. HOTEL LOCATION AND ONE OF THE MORE BEAUTIFULS OF SANREMO, INCLUDES OUR CLIENT APPEARANCE FROM THE CENTER, DIMENTING THE CAR. THE BREAKFAST IS ABBONDANT AND WITH BACKGROUNDED DAYS ALL DAYS FROM PASTING ONLY FRESH CREAMS. CLEAN ROOMS ALL DAYS. We have taken due consideration of the negative judgments you make and we assure you that we are making good use of both the services and the professionalism and efficiency of the staff in a way consistent with the standards of a third category hotel. Important restyling work has been planned to provide greater comfort and respond to the needs of a clientele that is attentive to product uniqueness and attention to detail. Parking is down near the casino at the seaside but you have to walk up a steep hill with your luggage and so this hotel is unsuitable for older people or diabled people. After a long coach journey from Austria we found there was no food provided and you had to go out intoi Sanremo to find somnwhere to eat. The hotel refused to provide breakfast at the time arranged by the local agents resulting in our arrival at our next hotel at 11:30 pm. Breakfast consisted of a plate with one roll, a packet of butter and a packet of jam. There was orangle juice in a jug and coffee for those who drink coffee. The rooms were adequate for one night and all single rooms were at the back of the hotel -- discriminating against single people again. Wifi was free but difficult to gain access to. Bathrooms tiny and you had to clamber over the useless bidet (does anyone ever use such things( in order to get into the shower. The 91 year old in our group found access to and from the hotel very difficult.

First of all, the rooms were old and had a smell of chlorine. Also the air conditioning didn't work as it was supposed to. But a positive thing was the bathroom because it's renovated in a modern style. The food wasn't really local food and in addition to this, it was a bit tasteless. The pool area was clean and offered a nice view.

Room was clean tidy and spacious with a nice balcony. Bonus was the air-con which was free and also a safe again all free. Hotel is in a good location near the casino although it is up a hill there is a short cut down some stairs through the garage which makes life easier. Hotel has a small pool which is pleasant. Overall would recommend this hotel as good value for money.
