Detailed Reviews
We visited this hotel in July 2020 as a couple and stayed for 7 nights.
The first thing I would say is that since this was during the Coronavirus pandemic we were really impressed with the measures in place. As a result though the hotel bar and restaurant (for dinner) were closed but this didn't affect us too much as there is a big selection relatively near by.
The hotel arranged a transfer from and back to Naples airport for us.
They had a really good system in place to avoid touching too many surfaces at breakfast which meant the selection was fine, if a little limited, but I think in 'normal' times there would be a much bigger range.
We ate at the pool bar for lunch which was fine and had options such as salads and sandwiches and there was always someone on hand for drinks.
The pool itself was lovely as it had the amazing view, which is shared by much of the hotel, of Mount Vesuvius, the peninsula and the sea. It also had a lovely backdrop of plants. The pool was absolutely fine during the week but very busy at the weekend. We were there early so got sunbeds but people turning up later couldn't get a space.
One of the best things about the hotel was the shuttle into the middle of Sorrento. We used it a couple of times throughout our stay and there was a range of drop off times. However, we usually walked as it was basically a straight road and took 25 minutes. It is a steep walk for the last five back up to the hotel but this was totally fine for us.
The room's best part was again the amazing view over the bay which you could enjoy from the really big balcony area. The room was generally quiet despite being near to the breakfast room. The double bed was two singles together, the aircon was adequate but not hugely powerful and there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. There was a small range of toiletries, a powerful shower and a fridge as well as lots of storage space. The room and hotel were always clean and everyone was really friendly.

You won’t get a much better view over the bay, and the sunset is to die for, sat on the terrace bar, or your own balcony. The hotel may seem very slightly dated, but all of the rooms have balcony and sea views, are spotlessly cleaned daily, and the beds and pillows are the comfiest I’ve ever slept in. Because it’s set back from the main road, it’s peaceful. The pool is lovely and clean. The staff speak fantastic English and are so helpful, warm and friendly. It takes about 20 minutes to walk into the centre of Sorrento though the hotel provide a very reliable and efficient free shuttle service - it stops right outside the train station too, so it’s worth phoning them if you arrive in the train station and they’ll gladly collect you (the taxi tank wanted 25 euros off us for a 5 minute journey)

If you love amazing views , peace and tranquility this hotel is perfect. It never felt crowded and no fighting for sun loungers.
We had a delux sea view room which was quirky and so comfortable and had a little fridge that we could keep water , beers and wine in to sit on the balcony and watch the lights twinkle across the bay. Couldn’t fault a thing.
The shuttle bus was punctual and efficient and it’s only short trip into the bustle of Sorrento and ran hourly.
There was a little supermarket in Sant Agnello that we walked to for beers , wine and snacks. It had a fab selection of olives and cheeses also. Steep walk back up the hill may not suit everyone. We also spent a long afternoon at the local beach La Marinella , we loved this , swimming in the sea and watching all the locals. It was about a 20 minute walk.
Thank you to all the staff for everything they do. I loved hearing the housekeeping girls sing in the morning always smiling.
Incredible hotel , we had the best time

We cannot thank Hotel Cristina enough for our wonderful 7 nights stay. The views of Mount Vesuvius and Capri from the pool and restaurant are unparalled. The location is ideal being away from the noise and bustle of Sorrento and having a frequent shuttle bus to get you to and from Sorrento when needed. We stayed in the Villa which was ideal for our family and has two separate outdoor areas. The villa is bigger than the photos do justice to. What really makes this hotel though is the staff. Every single member of staff was helpful and friendly. A special mention goes to Francisco in the restaurant who was extremely thorough and careful when dealing with my son's allergies. He checked packets of ingredients on items such as the hot chocolate, he made sure every item was safe our son and even arranged for a bespoke pork milanese for him, this was without us even asking him to do so. We have never had someone in hospitality be so thorough in relation to our son's allergies before. It really helped to make our son's holiday for him. Our children were moved to write a note of thanks to Francisco for his kindness. As we departed early the hotel prepared take-away breakfast bags and again labelled my son's with his allergies. Thank-you Hotel Cristina for such wonderful service.

We came here 10 years ago on our honeymoon and decided to stay for our anniversary. Check in was very efficient and friendly with the lady getting us water when we arrived. The room had a corner balcony over looking the bay and Vesuvius which was as stunning as I remembered. We had been give a mini bottle of Prosecco with some small cakes as a welcome and also given a welcome glass of Prosecco in the hotel bar. The free hotel bus to town is punctual and a great idea being able to book on via WhatsApp. Location of the hotel is great but be warned it is up a steep incline and therefore any mobility issues should be considered before booking. There are a couple of lovely local restaurants/cafes just down the hill who were more than happy with tourists visiting. I have only two small gripes with our return visit.. we were over priced 2 1/2 lagers in the restaurant (charged for 2 pints of lager instead which wasn’t good) and the key/lock of our hotel door was broken and needed to be fixed which took some organising and ate into our pool time … however, all the staff, hotel, pool, grounds, breakfast etc is second to none and we’re already planning a return visit. Thank you for a great week .

I stayed here with my husband and had a fantastic time. The superior room was fine. The little fridge is really handy. No coffee making facilities in the room. We took a travel kettle. Some of the decor could do with a bit of updating but that is very much balanced by the incredible view. We had 202 which is on the end so has a wraparound incredible panorama. Breakfast was a great selection of cooked, fruit, cereal or an array of lovely little pastries with great coffee. The staff are really lovely and helpful. The shuttle bus to central Sorrento is such a nice touch. You can even message reception to change your time if you need to. We even used it on arrival. The airport bus leaves you at the train station and you can then pick up the shuttle. Just email the hotel. The pool is gorgeous with more superb views. My only slight negative is that it doesn't have quite enough beds and more importantly umbrellas for the number of people in the hotel in high season. Sorrento itself and the Amalfi coast is superb. Don't think twice. Thank you Hotel Cristina.

This hotel is a really pretty, quaint place with amazing views.Rooms absolutely spotless, and loved the older style furniture.Beautiful pool with fantastic views.Shuttle bus service really useful,as although it says you can walk to the town,it is quite a long walk, with very narrow streets.
The one point that absolutely let's this place down is the food,in particular the evening service.
Breakfast was buffet style and adequate, the food avaliable at lunchtime was a good selection(very pricey,it was the same as a main meal price in the main square),however, satisfactory
The evening menu has very little choice, and standard of food is awful. My husband opted for the seafood pasta, when it arrived some of the mussels were still closed. He then realised it was cold. I was astounded to see that frozen shrimps were used, surely there would be ample opportunity to buy fresh?
We only ate there once, and opted for meals out in the town from then on
This is such a shame, and if there was a nicer menu and quality of food for this service, which is in such a beautiful setting,my score would have been higher

We rented the appartment (villa) 20m down the hill from the main hotel and had a lovely time.
Due to heavy rain one of the rooms leaked, so half of our party ended up in a room in the main hotel, not ideal, but the staff couldn't have been more helpful and kind to us.
We were travelling with a 3month year old so the appartment was ideal, spacious and had everything we needed.
We never got to use the pool due to terrible rainy weather, but the shuttle bus down to the main centre was great and they came and picked us up from the train station which was a life saver!
Only had the breakfast which was brilliant, very tasty. We did order a sandwich and it was not nice at all and overpriced, so don't get a sandwich but tbh your in Italy so you should be out and about enjoying pizza n pasta anyway!
The hotel is a good 20mins walk so I recommend using the shuttle bus.
Why 5 stars you ask... The staff! The staff could not have been nicer, loved our wee boy hamish and were so helpful and brilliant whenever we needed anything!
So thanks for making what could have been a driech holiday into a fabulous time away with the family!

Without doubt one of the best hotels and most helpful and friendly staff we have ever come across. Everything was spotless - rooftop pool and restaurant had the most spectacular views and we couldn’t have picked a better place to celebrate our anniversary.
Room was beautiful and the view from our large terrace was amazing.
Breakfast and dinner were fantastic but as I said the staff were brilliant and looked after us so we’ll
Even when I had left a bag behind on bus taking us to airport they went out of their way to locate it and have organised for it to get posted back to me. Thanks Columba and Laura
Both my wife and would highly recommend Hotel Cristina and will definitely return again - thank you for such a great holiday

The Hotel Cristina is perched high on a hillside overlooking the town of Sant Agnello, with breathtaking views over the Bay of Naples to Mount Vesuvius beyond.. and our sea view room balcony offered exactly that. We spent hours simply absorbing the scene before us.. The staff here are charming and professional, and go the extra mile to ensure that needs are catered for (gluten free food for example). Francesco, the breakfast head waiter, was amazing - he even arrived early on our day of departure to present packed lunches for our journey! The downsides? well..the room was rather basic, 3 star standard we thought, and the bathroom tiny. There were no tea/coffee making facilities and no folder detailing room service, meal times, fire escape etc etc. On arrival there was no porter to take our luggage to the room - but, in fairness, there is a lift close to reception. Oh, I forgot to mention that the hotel has a free shuttle bus to take residents into town - so overall we had a super holiday based at Hotel Cristina.

Dear Guest
Good afternoon from Hotel Cristina.
We generally tend to open the swimming pool toward the second half of April, this would obviously depend on the weather as well.
the bus runs from 8 in the morning until 23,45 at night approx each hour or two :-)
Swimming pool will be open until end of OCtober, our beds are very comfortable, hard mattresses with soft covers, we are sure you will enjoy :-)
Also, how much is the airport pick up? And can you rent Vespas from the hotel?
