The hotel itself was abit outdated but everything was lovely and clean.
Our room had a large comfy bed, towels etc were changed regularly
The ladies also cleaned spotlessly everyday.
Fridge was small ,old and not very cold.
Balcony looked over the garden with lemon trees, loungers and chairs, a very pleasant spot
The management and staff at front desk couldn't have been more helpful, all were cheery and friendly

Food was very disappointing the evening meals reminded me of school dinners, not a good introduction to Italian food.
The breakfasts were so different , lots of variety but did always find the scrambled eggs and tea was always on the cool side even though they had just been brought out of the kitchen.
Other thing to be aware of is you can't have tap water at your table you have to buy theirs , also you can't buy a glass of wine it's either a half or full bottle and it says not cheap.

We did like the location but it is a further walk into Sorrento than is said. It took us about 25 mins to walk into the centre. The walk is along a very busy road and at times no pavements .
There is a good bus service and the train station is roughly 15 min walk from the hotel

Nice friendly bar around corner from hotel and a few nice restaurants near by.

This is our third time in Italy Sorrento area, we stayed at a hotel in Sorrento city center first time so we decided to go for another hotel in Sorrento city center over Hotel Eliseo Park's second time (as first hotel was closed for refurbishment), that's where we went wrong.
So this time we decided to come and stay at Eliseo Park's which from day one staff made us feel very welcome.
We loved room 304, which is spacious and also has a big balcony. The bathroom has a walk-in shower, which is great with my eye sight issues.
The food is really good and has plenty of choices with very friendly staff (specially the taller gentleman) looking after us making sure if we needed anything. Very friendly chambermaids, as we asked them for additional towels and we were given in no time, we noticed they cleaned our own cups in our room, going the extra miles.
Lovely size pool to swim in on a hot day. The hotel has a small bar with a variety of drinks to choose from.
The location is just perfect, a couple of minutes walk to La Marinella beach, about 10 minutes walk to Sant'Agnello train station and about 15 to 20 minutes walk to Sorrento centre, we love the walks in the narrow alleyways near the hotel to train station or Sorrento.
All in all, it is a perfect hotel in a perfect location. We felt as if this hotel was a family run hotel as all staff were very kind, friendly and approachable.
Already we have decided if we come back to Sorrento, we would definitely come back to stay here again.

This is a very late review and I have been meaning to do this since we returned home at the end of August 2017. We are due back here for 3 weeks in August 2022 and I booked a 2 week stay here with Jet2holidays in April 2023 today. Easter in the Sorrento area is magical!

The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

We loved the traditional Italian decor, the tiles were gorgeous and the bling was perfect!

We had a large room with a big balcony on the top floor of the hotel overlooking the pool. We could see the sea in the distance.

We chose our starter and main courses at breakfast. This is a good idea as it must save on waste.

The pool has sunbeds and chairs around it and you can also sunbathe in the garden. It was a delight sitting amongst the lemon trees. Vegetables were grown in the garden and the were picked in the afternoon and served at dinner.

It takes about 20 minutes to walk into Sorrento and about the same into Piano Di Sorrento.

My husband and I originally booked to stay at the Caravel Hotel (4 star) but 3 weeks before our day of departure, were told by our Travel Agent that the Caravel had overbooked (according to Newmarket Holidays). We were now staying at Hotel Eliseo Park which was ‘like for like’ as also a 4 star. For this reason no refund was offered but the difference in price was refunded (strange considering it was a ‘like for like’). We could also tell from going online that they were not!

On arrival we could tell these hotels were not ‘like for like’. Hotel Eliseo Park is very dated looking and when asked was re furbished 25 years ago !! The furniture in our room was dated with cracks in the Lino style flooring. The bathroom was in need of replacing. Beds were very firm which was fine by us but other guests who complained were told a mattress topper was available to use. Taps were worn, a tatty shower curtain round the shower, balcony furniture was rusty in places, no umbrellas around the pool, a run down shack by the pool occasionally selling a few ice creams and crisps. Reception didn’t even sell peanuts !! As for the food….. we only ate there once as although the soup was nice, the fish stew was basically rubbery squid with some kind of peas in it accompanied with purée mash. Dessert chosen was cake. This was so thin and cheap and fake. The group of people we spoke to were all complaining about the portion size and the quality. We were fortunate enough to be able to afford to eat out for the rest of the holiday. Our packed lunch on the day of departure was an apple and orange and two dry rolls consisting of cheese in one and salami in the other. They were thrown away.

On a good note the reception staff and owners were lovely and helpful. The hotel and rooms were very clean.

The Caravel was round the corner and the difference was as we expected. Modern and roomy reception, shuttle bus, umbrellas around pool with a lovely seating area. The restaurant meal, although small was very tasty. In our group 4 people were staying there and they were happy with all aspects.

Verdict: If the Caravel is a 4 Star then Hotel Eliseo Park should no longer be rated as a 4 Star Hotel. More a 2/3.

The best thing about the hotel was Tony. The hotel location was great, near the cliff edge where you could see the ocean and close to the more busy town area but still far enough to be very quiet. The room was old and not up to date but very clean and worked. The food was nice to have even if it wasn’t a 10/10 but most of all the man at the front desk,Tony, was the nicest. He was helpful and very hospitable and even came to our room to help us with all that we needed. Every time we would come in and out of the hotel he would say hi and also gave us a tour when we first arrived. Honestly, he made the stay worth it with his kindness and by how much he cared.

This was on a Jet2 budget holiday for a week during the 2023 S. Europe heatwave, costing about £900 from Stansted.
This hotel is dated but wonderfully quirky, with a small, but attentive team of excellent staff. When we arrived in the early afternoon and went straight to the pool to escape the 33C heat, we ordered ciabattas and drinks from Vincenzo, the pool bar attendant, who then picked the herbs from the garden! Aircon was on all the time, but when you leave your room, taking the key out shut it down (took the aircon key off the fob and left it in). The only mild point would be the choice of food, which is fine and good quality for a budget menu; but you have to choose from a limited menu of 3 starters and 3 mains and order at breakfast time. No dessert choice. An additional salad or salad buffet would transform this menu. Bus C goes from outside to Sorrento port (beaches, boats to Capri etc.), and the bus driver dropped us back at the hotel. St Agnello station is 15 mins walk at 38C...
Overall a great budget pick that we would use again. We spent a lot of time cooling in the pool and shaded gardens full of lemon trees.

We have had the best 3 weeks of our life and the most special holiday ever here! We visited 5 years ago and the hotel is still beautifully maintained and so traditionally Italian! It is decorated stunningly! The tiles, pottery ornaments and glass features are just gorgeous! The staff were again marvellous, so hard working, helpful, kind and friendly! They helped to make our holiday such a great one! The food was delicious, traditional home cooked Italian food, so tasty and the best we have had in any of the hotels that we have stayed in. Our room was spacious and had a great view out over the pool, the gardens and the sea was in the distance. We paid for a balcony which was brilliant and money well spent! Salvatore and his family who own the hotel are lovely, so friendly, helpful and kind. Ivana, Michele and Agostino in the restaurant are fantastic! We were so pleased to see Ivana again as she is so very special! Viola and Antonio on reception during the day were marvellous! So helpful and kind. Giuseppe the chef is very talented and a happy chap! Guilia and Rosaria were friendly, happy and worked so hard cleaning all the rooms and public areas of hotel. Vincenzo who works at the pool bar was friendly and always smiling. Michele who was on reception each night was welcoming when we came in after being out in the evenings for walks.
The hotel is very well situated, a 20 minute walk into Sorrento, a 20 minute walk into Piano Di Sorrento and in Sant’Agnello which is lovely! The pool is lovely and refreshing and not too deep which is much appreciated as I cannot swim out of my depth, so I felt safe swimming in it. The gardens are pretty with flowers, fruit plants and lemon trees.
We will be returning in April 2023 and cannot wait!

The hotel itself is very clean on first impressions. Very light and airy also.
The receptionist was lovely, very friendly and knowledgeable and made us feel very welcome from the start. The elderly gentleman on reception was also nice and very helpful.
The lifts up to the rooms are small but worked OK, no hiccups at all while we were there.
We were on the second floor which has a bit of a strange lay out. We were in room 208 which also has room 207 attached for families if need be, a door separates the two and I'm not sure if the two rooms would share the bathroom or not. You open the outer door which says 208 which is on the right as you go in, bathroom on the left and 207 is straight ahead .
The bathroom was small but adequate with a bath, loo, bidet and sink. The taps are old and slightly corroded and need a good clean as there was black mold around the tap heads. The shower head was also old and hadn't been moved in a long time so was stuck in one position and took a bit of persuasion to be adjusted. The bath is quite narrow but on a plus the water was hot all of the time. All in all OK.
The bedroom was a good size with twin beds pushed together, they're very firm but I slept better than expected. Patio doors led out on to a balcony which overlooked the pool and garden area.
Cleaning staff clean the rooms every day supposedly changing the towels every two days but I think our towels were actually only changed once in the week we were there.
Downstairs in the bar area there are comfy chairs to sit on, then you go through to the dining room which is a fair size and very ornate.
Food was fairly basic, not a great deal to choose from. The starter course was generally the better choice than the main because If you don't like eggs or pork you would struggle. Omelette of some description was on the menu most nights as was pork, all were accompanied by vegetables of the chefs choice which was usually potatoes and one other veg. Dessert was usually a piece of cake or a moose or fruit salad. Portions were quite small but in general enough for myself. I found it quite tasty but some others complained of it being bland. You also have to choose your evening meal at breakfast time. Dinner was 7pm - 8pm but they preferred you to be earlier rather than later.
Unfortunately the waiting staff weren't quite so friendly, the female waitress was quite abrupt at times or just blatantly ignored you just putting the food down infront of you and the elderly gentleman never spoke at all. The younger man was the most pleasant of them all.

The hotel is about a 15-20 minutes walk from Piazza Tasso with various route you can take but very busy with cars and mopeds speeding through.

Hotel was clean and presentable, and the staff were all friendly and very helpful. Had a 3rd floor room with a balcony which was handy for drying swim gear.

However, in no particular order:

Beds were rock hard

Lifts were hit and miss, sometimes the floor levels didn’t quite meet, so had to beware of tripping from the lift to your floor/sometimes the lift opened at level 2 but doors didn’t open

Take a European extension lead for charging your gadgets – the only sockets available were for the tv and fridge, which incidentally didn’t keep anything cold! We unplugged the tv!

No tea/coffee making facilities in rooms

Swimming pool was freezing cold, not heated nor by the sun whatever time you used during the day in full sunlight.

Hotel charges €1.50 for swim towels and expect them back straightaway – can’t take them to your room to dry out and use again, another money-maker

Breakfast is mixed continental – breads, cakes and cheeses, or cereals & yogurts and fruit, scrambled egg and bacon

Breakfast is 7-9.30am; Evening meal is 7-8pm and you’re expected to depart restaurant as soon as you are finished eating

Evening meals were disappointing – you book at breakfast time and at 7pm, within seconds of sitting down, meals are ready. Poor selection and we didn’t feel they reflected Italian cuisine. Even though we paid for half board, I think we only ate in twice.

Italians charge €2 per night per person for tourist tax, bear that in mind for end of your stay

Tips for surrounding area

Sant Agnello is a lovely town, about a 10 min walk, and Sorrento is at least 30 mins away – beware the traffic though. When you cross the road at a zebra crossing, put your foot out into the road and make eye contact with drivers, otherwise they don’t stop for you.

Overall, a lovely holiday, but wouldn’t agree that hotel is worthy of a 4*,
more a 3

The hotel staff were all very friendly and the rooms clean and tidy, but the food was disappointing, particularly the sweet course. A small bowl of fresh cherries (no cream or ice cream) and a big slab of melon (ditto!) were 2 of the offerings, with no alternative. Starters were generally good, but main courses were meagre portions with little or no vegetables. The packed breakfast for the final morning on departure was also disappointing compared to fellow travellers staying around the corner. 2 dry rolls and an apple and orange that looked as though they'd seen better days!
The beds and pillows were also very hard!
It was a bit of a trek into Sorrento but well worth the walk.
There is a very nice restaurant just around the corner, and a small bar very close to the hotel used by the locals.
Don't stray off the uneven, obstacle strewn pavements, the cars and scooters are driven by maniacs!!!

Choices do change daily. There are 2 different groups of selections, both quite substantial. We were never able to finish the 2nd. Typical Italian dishes, lasagna, pork, etc. All very tasty! Excellent service. Rather strange, but we had to select our choices at breakfast for evening meal. Guess that's due to limited menu. Hope this helps.
