After our five days in Rome, we took the train up to Spoleto for the Umbrian part of our vacation. We were glad we chose Spoleto as our home for this leg of the trip--it is a convenient for outings to Assisi, Spello, Trevi, and Montefalco --and the Hotel Dei Duchi really felt like our home. It was a quick...

Hotel dei Duchi is located only a few steps from a main square in Spoleto, and less than a 15-minute walk from virtually all of the main sights in the town. It actually overlooks the Roman Theater. We reserved a "romantic package" that included dinner our first night as well as a bottle of spumanti wine in our room. The...

After years of dealing with other hotels in the area, Hotel dei Duchi was a delight to work with: their professionalism, service, attention to detail, and responsiveness is unsurpassable. While the building itself is not as charming as an 18th century palazzo might be, it certainly makes up in cleanliness, space, comfort, and views of the rolling hills of Umbria....

The family owned Hotel dei Duchi is in the fascinating town of Spoleto, the perfect place to explore the roman and renaissance buildings to be found in Umbria. Not to be missed is the Rocca Fortress towering over Spoleto housing, as it does, marvellous frescoes. The hotel has lovely guest rooms each with up-to-date bathroom where fresh towels are provided...

This was one of our cheaper hotels where we stayed during our honeymoon in Venice, Umbrië and Rome, but it was the most luxurious one. The view was okay, the room was spacious, we did have a bathtub in the bathroom. It is located near to the city center. We could also park our car there for free.

This family run hotel is in the old section of Spoleto within walking distance of shops and places to eat. However, their restaurant, on site, is very good. The view from our balcony was spectacular. The family is very nice and they do speak English. The breakfast and the wait staff were very good also. We asked for two plates...

We started a 12 day trip to Italy in Spoleto and Hotel Dei Duchi. Our room was spacious and clean and had a fantastic view of the surrounding countryside. The staff were great and not only gave us great recommendations on where to eat but also helped us make the transition to being in Italy. One of the staff even...
