Andrea(owner) gave us a lovely welcome with a glass of excellent wine. He was helpful throughout our stay. Room had a lovely unobstructed view of the sea and Strombolicchio. Ceiling fan had a silent setting. Breakfasts were delicious on a lovely outside enclosed patio. Restaurant is now closed but excellent choice of restaurants nearby. One of the well travelled guests...

If you like to eat well and are looking for something different, not your typical hotel, this is the place for you. The house is a converted old fisherman's house and they've maintained the overall feel of the home's origins. The owner and chef will delight you every evening with her specialties. This place is magical, as is the island...

a warm welcome by Andrea, the charismatic owner, made a promising start to our stay at barbablu. The room had some quirky elements and the bathroom was tiled in a modern way. The long towels on the floor were a but of a mystery untill we used the shower and found that gravity and water ask for a different position...

Very nice Locanda. Friendly staff, especially Andrea, the owner is very helpful with everything you may need, as is "Nonna" who, as a private cook, prepared our 8 month old a fantastic, healthy Italian baby dinner! The restaurant is very good as well, we had a lovely meal here with nice wine. Would definitely book this place again for every...

On west side, the green slope of the Volcano which sneezes every ten minutes; on east side a garden overhanging the Eolian sea and the Strombolicchio rock which lighthouse marks every night. In between, stuck to the main narrow street of S.Vincenzo stands this colored house hold by a man of taste. Simplicity, charm and refinement are the qualities of...

We had two wonderful nights on Stromboli. Island life is always a bit different, but Stromboli has a unique feel living in the shadows of an active volcano literally. Barbablu is a reasonable walk from the wharf up through the village, past the church and just down the hill a bit further. Charming roman/mediterranean/rustic feel to the place. The room...

..and the kitchen staff, and the wait staff, and the cleaning staff. If you want to follow lesser reviews you will be missing out on the other bit of magic that the Island has besides the Volcano. Do dine here, enjoy their tasting menu and ask why it is so special. Travelling the world eating this mama has it nailed....

Andrea, who runs the Locanda, showed us superb hospitality from the moment we arrived to when we departed. In short, we had a wonderful stay at this hotel and I would highly recommend it. We arrived on Stromboli on the overnight ferry from Naples, and Andrea greeted us at 7.30am to offer us breakfast. As we had travelled to Stromboli...

I spent six days at the hotel and loved every minute. Stromboli in the off-season is great: Nice weather and beautiful scenery. But one of the reasons I had such a great time is La Locanda del Barbablu. There are only about six rooms, each decorated with original colors (a green ceiling in my room) and a few religious icons....

A charming small guesthouse with only 5 or 6 rooms, all finely decorated. One of the best room is definitively the 101 (because of the size of the room, the view and the terrace), but you shouldn’t be afraid of the noise, since a small (trendy) bar/restaurant is underneath. The restaurant is a good place for a diner, but some...
