#22 of 46 B&Bs / Inns in Tirolo / Dorf Tirol
The 3*S Örtlerhof is located on the sunny slope of Tirolo near Merano. It is quietly situated amidst its own apple trees and yet centrally located. The village centre is only a 5-minute walk away. The panoramic position offers a fantastic view of the spa town and the surrounding mountains. The entailed estate (since 1766) is the ideal starting point for walks, hikes, bike tours and other excursions. The nature-oriented and sustainably run business is a small house (maximum 50 guests) with plenty of space, which impresses with its lovely decorations and warm care. The outdoor swimming pool and the beautiful sunbathing lawn invite guests to linger. The kitchen serves Mediterranean specialities and South Tyrolean dishes. Emphasis is placed on regionality and seasonality. Many products come from the hotel's own garden and farm. Guests can enjoy the home-grown wines with the 5-course evening menu. Children enjoy the playground with swing, sandpit and playhouse. Cot, highchair and more children's accessories are available. Backpacks and hiking poles, as well as bath towels can be borrowed free of charge. The bike deposit is lockable. In spring and autumn, guests receive the MeranCard with free use of all bus and train lines throughout South Tyrol as well as free admission to 80 South Tyrolean museums. For faster WLAN, the hotel has switched to fibre optics. All information regarding the hotel has been digitalised. This makes it possible to plan the holiday with the smartphone. In addition, the favourite newspaper can be downloaded free of charge.

We had a great stay in an amazing family atmosphere. The food was super. Breakfast all complete and diner served at the table. Personal is very friendly and knows exactly what to do. The owners are so helpful and always happy minded. Rooms were clean and calm.

On my third time of being there, I saw a couple coming in, looking around. I asked them, if it was their first time there - my friends all the time tell me, "why are you going to the same place again? choose something else!" - but I just love it so much I can't think of not going there. That couple replied, "No, it's our 11th time here." And it is understandable - the surroundings are amazing, the mountains and the beautiful nature around provoke peace and rest, and the pension gives all possible conditions to enjoy it. The hotel's motto is "Relax and enjoy", and it is indeed what they help us doing. :) They're so friendly, I told Barbara, the pension's owner-hostess, "I feel here that you treat me like I'm a queen", and then I looked at her and fixed my saying: "No, I feel you treat me like I'm a person you love very much." I think this is the main feeling, what I'm coming after - I feel love there. The pension owners, the wonderful Ladurner family, takes care of the guests as if they are their beloved family members. And the pension itself is so beautiful, very much together with the nature's beauty around it. It gives the perfect conditions to enjoy the rest. I was there both for work, and taking rest, and for both activities the Ladurner family gave me the perfect conditions I could rely upon. I always knew the rooms would be perfectly clean and comfortable, the food - oh, the food there is amazing! Their chef creates something interesting every day, and it is so delicious, I said it could be taken as a gastronomic tour. I eat gluten free and have many other food allergies, and they prepared the food - delicious food, not just anything to meet my allergies! - especially for me, what I could comfortably eat. I could sleep well in the comfortable room conditions. They put a high table on my balcony, so I could work with my laptop there, with the mountain view. They did all they could and much more, I never met such care and love in a place where many different people come, where it could be just a service. Instead, it is like soul spa there, I come home from there replenished, calm and so resourceful. I wholeheartedly recommend to have this place as the ultimate rest place for all introverts for sure :) but for the others, when they want to recharge their resources - they should try it, too.
