Hotel atmosphere (hallway, elevator, rooms) is outdated. Outside looks really good, inside is old. Personnel was a bit cold and quiet. Rooms are functional but for the rest nothing extra. We didn’t use restaurant. Doors of the hotel rooms close very hard. With other quests not caring too much about their co guests, this can be quite annoying at 7:00 am in the morning.

Very friendly staff, was quiet at night even though it is located in the very center of the old town. Great. I can recommend the hotel - good value for the price. Coffee and croissant were offered long after the official breakfats hours.

Where to start? For one: all the reviews you read about the hotel are true. The good ones and the bad ones. It is very much ‘old glory with holes in it’ and their customer focus leaves something to be desired. F&B is ridiculously expensive for what you get and they charge service fees on top of service fees etc. So make sure you realize that. Also be careful accepting a room ‘upgrade’ to a full lake view. Some of the rooms are former bedrooms of bigger suites and are small and have just one window overlooking the lake which you can only use if you actually stand in front of it. Also, even with temperatures of 35C, they leave the airco in your room off unless you ask for it. So do that the moment you check in as the old beast takes around 5 hrs to restore temperatures to something livable. The pool is not outside but that is clearly stated on their site. The chairs outside are ‘ok’ but the atmosphere is a bit strange. Not very relaxing but that could just be me. Breakfast was a disgrace and I have seen better breakfasts at motels. What is fun about the experience is that you get all this, hurried service, etc in a palace setting. I stayed for 2 days and that was more than enough. Better hotels can be found than this. Worth at most 150 per room, 175 in a pinch. So if you can get it for that: go for it. Even if only for a laugh. I wanted to take pictures of the room, but it was too small. By the way: showers were excellent (just very small) so no clue what those people are complaining about but I was on the first floor so that may have helped. Whatever you do: get a balcony.

Nice for the price! Looks amazing from outside, would need some renovation! Just take the Carpets out, would look way nicer! And the bathroom would be great with a showwr instead of a bathtub! Location was great!

We have been staying in this hotel for the second time. Friendly and nice place for a few days of relax. It has been a pleasure to come back. We all enjoyed it and will come again. Good breakfast, the homemade cakes are excellent.

Visited for two night, the hotel is on the lake front therefore the views are amazing. However the decor is very outdated and air conditioning was broken which made for very uncomfortable nights in the heat! The rooms also don’t have a fridge and there was no easy ways to get water in the lobby. Overall the hotel did the job however if something else could be found nearby for cheaper would probably be better.

Although a little dated, the hotel was immaculate. Room cleaned and sheets changed daily. A larger than average room (more a suite) on the top floor with stunning views over the lake. Good choice of continental breakfast. As we were with a large group, evening meal was a set menu. Always plenty of food and wine was a good price. Great location for nearby parks, gelaterie and boats taking you to local islands. Would use again if visiting Maggiore

The hotel is just in front of the lake. It has excellent and stunning views of the mountains as well. The service at the hotel is welcoming and personnel is always ready to help. Our room was big with a little balcony overlooking the lake and it was clean as well. Thank you from the Camilleri ...Malta.

We stayed at this hotel by chance after having a dodgy Air BnB property a little way away. It was an amazing find. The staff are very friendly and welcoming without being over the top. The hotel is very clean. We had a lake view room which was absolutely enormous and more like a suite! The location is right on the lake side near lots of great places to eat and the ferry that takes you all over Lago Maggiore. There is an amount of free parking right outside in the white bays rather than the paid for blue bays. Our deal was through a separate website and we paid for breakfast, but this was only €5 pp, although other people had this included. It was well worth it, with lots of variety and always piping hot cooked food and a great selection of meats and local fruits. I would not hesitate to stay here again with my family as it was great value, very clean, had great staff and was in a great location. You could pay more locally and we had quotes to do so, but why bother when you have such a great place:-)

We were in this Hotel only for a night. If you travel by own car, it is a Good place to stay (not expensive). There are enough free (white zone) parking places around the hotel. Room was spacious and clean, staff are very friendly and serves standard breakfast (we didn't expect better because general standard of breakfast in Italy isnot good).
