The Relais del Nazionale exceeded our expectaions in all respects: Service staff go out of their way to accomodate your needs; the Relais itself is very high quality, and built with great care and with attention to history, local traditions, and traveller comfort; and, the Restaurant is just superb as it offers local traditional foods made in a contemporary way. We were positively surprised throughout our stay! This place is worth a tour in its own right! To top it: We found prices to be very reasonable, both at the Relais and at the Restaurant!
Once again an amazing lunch . A lot of care and great dishes not forgetting the wine list . This time we had a Sauvignon from Miani winemaker . Probably one of the best Sauvignon I ever tried . Food , place and service too notch! Maybe just a bit too long..... Well done Christian !!!!!
We are regular worldwide travellers who stay in all type of accommodations from airbnb to 5 star hotels. Our background is also in concierge and customer service. This place has it absolutely spot on in every aspect. The staff are amazing, super efficient and extremely discreet and pleasant. I eat gluten free, I have never had such an amazing response to my restrictions, including two specially made cakes for breakfast. The hotel is spotless and has lovely touches likely courtesy Crocs to go to the spa which is lovely. The restaurant is phenomenal both in food and service. The most amazing food at very reasonable prices, worthy of Michelin guide. Again, amazing gluten free swaps. Brilliant staff, so kind and discreet and the biggest wine list we have every seen. Lastly, I am French so know my cheeses and I can say without hesitation that they serve the best cheese I have ever eaten. We will be back!…
Very comfortable, quiet hotel. Impeccable service, nice breakfast. Well appointed clean rooms. Wonderful mattress. Gorgeous views from private balcony. Energetic owner seemed to be constantly onsite making sure guests were well cared for, and was full of information in excellent English.
A family run hotel where everyone makes you feel welcome. Lovely small spa area. Breakfast was excellent all you could ask for and more! Homemade with local produce. The lemon cake was fabulous. Room large and clean. Hard to fault.
We stayed in this delightful hotel at the foot of the Alps and had dinner across the street in the restaurant which was first class. Gourmet from the start to the end with lots of extra unexpected goodies. The breakfast was also first rate -- local cheese, yogurts, homemade jams, cakes and fresh squeezed juice. I could have stayed for a week. Andrea, the owner, was super helpful, and charming. As an aside, Vernante, the town was where Pinocchio was conceived.
It is now 18 years ago that we past in the Nationale Bar as an coïncidence! We fell in love with thé gentleness from the Macario family and their dedication to quality, regional and the now world wide slow food association! We have been back a few times already and every time we spot that il Nationale has become even better...The restaurant with brother & very knowledgeable Christian is simply unbelievable and one of the best gourmet experiences we know off anywhere... Andrea and the girls are super in the Stunning Relais with a beautiful spa! We have been working all our professional lives in the hospitality travelled the intire world and we can say that this place is outstanding... see you next time in le Relais
We have stayed here many times and love to return to the warm welcome from Andreas. The Restsurant belonging to the hotel is across the road and has wonderful locally sourced food. Each room in the Relais has unique mountain décor and extremely comfortable beds. Super breakfast with big choice of fruits cheese etc. We highly recommend a stay here
We booked on a friend's recommendation and stayed one night during winter season. Our room was large and well furnished, the bathroom was also spacious and I particularly liked the fact that they used L'occitane products which added a slightly "luxe" factor. Bathrobes and slippers are provided in the room for access to the spa so you only have to bring your swimwear, the jacuzzi is absolutely lovely - overlooking the snowy garden. We also tried all the different types of spa "rooms" - Swedish sauna, Turkish hammam, foot pebble bath and aromatherapy rain shower ... herbal tea, infused water and fruits are also provided in the spa. It was a fantastic way to spend the afternoon and it never feels overcrowded even though the relais was fully booked. I believe the relais tries to use organic/ local products whenever possible, and this can be seen in their breakfast selection. They provide a leaflet with overview of breakfast items and where they are sourced from - muesli, fruit, whole grain breads, eggs, ham, yoghurt, homemade jams, juices. So if you are looking for a sausage-bacon & beans kind of breakfast, you won't find it here! :) My favourite was the homemade blueberry tart. Staff are very attentive, polite and discreet. We really enjoyed our experience here, even though it was for one night only. We definately hope to return in the spring or summer to experience the resort in a different season. Note that the Relais (4-star) is not to be confused with the Hotel (3-star) opposite. The restaurant and hotel and situated across the road. We dined at their restaurant and will leave a separate review for the restaurant.…
One of my favourite hotels to stay. Classic yet modern. Friendly yet not intrusive. They remembers you, what you had yesterday for breakfast and dinner, don’t have to write you name down on the bill, offer a coffee or a beer while you wait.. They have a bar and restaurant too, and very good ones, so you have to leave the hotel
