We stayed at Principe at the end of August 2012. The room we stayed in was a bit dated and needed some work. Not every room has a bath, some are with showers only. Although we booked a room with sea view, it was just partial sea view. Staff was very friendly and spoke most of European languages. Nice breakfast....

We arrived at the Principe di Piemonte from a terrible stay elsewhere – what a world of difference!! Here, we were greeted by friendly and professional staff who were most responsive to our needs. We were provided a marvellous room with an outstanding view of the beach and ocean. Dinner was excellent, as was the breakfast buffet. I would stay...

We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights over Easter. The rooms were very nice and and clean, and there was room service twice a day. The staff are very kind and quick to respond to any requests. Breakfast is great with freshly baked croissants, freshly squeezed orange juice, and coffee of choice made to order. The rooftop heated swimming...

Stayed here 3 nights for a business meeting that was held in the hotel in the off season. It's across the street from the beach, and looking out the other side you see the mountains. The hotel has retained many original features, with huge high ceilings, fancy light fixtures, large windows. The different guest rooms are decorated in different styles,...

We stayed in the hotel in Viareggio in Juni 2012. The rooms were lovely, the bathroom nice. We liked the view from our room and from the pool on the top floor of the hotel. The service was nice and helpful and did a really good job (reception, pool, concierge). We would really love to go back, but we thought...

We arrived at 7pm with reservation , but the room was not ready. The third bed was a camp bed. The room is elegant, but any attempt of temperature regulation failed.... Too warm (25°C) for Christmas time. Staff was not warm, as you could expect. Breakfast pleanty

Lovely old-school building in a great location across from the beach about a mile from downtown VIareggio. There's a bit of a disconnect if you are assigned one of the renovated rooms which have been done in a minimalistic modern style, with platform bed (that is in fact very comfortable) and all white decor. We visited in January so the...

No wonder that Michelangelo loved this area where he stayed for months to select his marble for his famous statues. The Tuscan coast line, Versilia, is as beautiful as the french riviera Cote d'Azur and I specially like to stay there during the winter months, when it's less crowded and less expensive. I've stayed in different hotels, but Principe di...

We've stayed at the Principe quite a lot over the years and the great thing about is that there's always something happening. We've had a Calvin Klein swimwear launch, Miss Italy, Formula 1 team exhibitions, pro cyclist charity rides, Placebo staying next door and an air show at the front door. Each of the floors is decorated completely differently and...

Wonderful location .This hotel takes you back in time, but in a good way. Great Imposing corner location on the main Viaregio strip, with quadrant marble steps leading to an impressive mahogany revolving door. Once inside, the staff were dressed immaculately in dark suits. We were met by an English speaking receptionist who’s local knowledge and assistance was excellent. Our...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This storied luxury hotel on the seafront promenade in Viareggio is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World. Built in the early 1920s, restored to the height of its charm in 2004 after 19 months' refurbishment work, today the Principe is without doubt one of the world's most exclusive and refined historical hotels. The 106 rooms, including 19 suites, on five floors decorated in different styles, represent an ideal cross-section of elegant hospitality over the ages, through to the contemporary design of the sun-drenched rooftop swimming pool. The "Piccolo Principe" and "Regina" restaurants have also made their own contribution to the renown built up over the years by the Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte in Viareggio. The Two-starred Michel restaurant "Piccolo Principe" offers sophisticated cuisine against the magnificent backdrop of the panoramic roof garden, where guests dine in summer, while the "Regina" restaurant offers traditional Tuscan fare. ... more   less
