We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at this hotel. Firstly, we paid a little extra for a sea view room, and it was worth every penny. This has to be one of the best views in vico equense. Hotel is very modern and clean. As it was off season, the infinity pool bar and beach club were closed and we couldn't use the indoor facilities without paying extra. The rooms themselves were beautiful but small downside of no air con in off season (room was 30 degrees) and you could hear every little noise from hall and other rooms. We had cocktails at the bar and Mario the mixologist was very friendly and informative. Would recommend this hotel and would definitely book again.
Had an amazing 1,5 week at this hotel, we wanted a hotel that was close to the ocean but not in the middle of a crowded city, and we got exactly that and more. The staff was very friendly and helpful, if you arrive by car you just drive to the entrance and some very friendly people help you park the car (which is very nice as the traffic around Amalfi and Naples is hectic). The rooms were very nice and renovated, we had a room with a seaview and we highly recommend investing in one of those rooms as the view is great. The breakfast was very nice and had a lot to choose from, e.g. local hams and cheeses, fresh fruit, yoghurts, bread, cakes and different drink options. It was not crowded at all by the pool and the seaclub was very nice. The shuttle to the seaclub is not free however, so if you arrive by car you can easily drive down for about 5 minutes and it is cheaper to park close to the seaclub. It was very easy to visit other cities like Sorrento, Naples, Positano and Amalfi from where we stayed, and it was also easy to visit Pompeii and take a boat from the port to Capri. Would definitely stay here again if we would visit Amalfi again!…
The Hotel Mary is in a lovely tranquil little town on the Sorrento Coast with a gorgeous view of the sea. The rooms are very clean and minimal and the price is right. Staff is helpful and respectful. The restaurant is very good and the breakfasts are excellent. March is a great time to be here and the location is close to the major cities and sites in the area.
We had a wonderful stay in this area. We really appreciated the free valet parking. Not only did they make it very easy but they were also very fast. Josie at the front desk gave 5* service. She was very helpful and friendly. Our room and the hotel was kept very clean. The breakfast was good. We were in walking distance to several restaurants and shops. In winter a lot of restaurants and shops are closed on the coast which is why we picked to stay in Sorrento where Mostly everything was open. We were also a close drive to Naples and Positano. It was a beautiful (but scary) drive along the whole coast. I’m very happy we did the drive in winter as opposed to summer when the roads are crowded.
We had some problems entering our room but these were quickly resolved with a smile. I was travelling alone with my 10 year old daughter and we felt safe and welcome at all times. The property is pristinely clean, the reception staff is keen to assist with advice and excursions and extra little touches. The rooms are generously proportioned. The outdoor pool is well maintained and the sea club deck spotless. The bar staff go out of their way to make you welcome. Stunning views, friendly local town if one makes an effort. Our only issues were other discourteous guests..
We have just returned from the most loveliest holiday staying at this fabulous hotel. The staff could not do enough for us and at all times the service was excellent. Everyone played their part in making our stay as comfortable as possible, special mention to Mario the barman who remembered our favourite drinks every night and the waiters in the restaurant, the cleaners with their cheerful friendly professional manner and the helpful reception staff who gave us good advice from Everything down to what time the local shops shut for the afternoon. We wanted to visit the private beach but didn’t realise it was the last day of the season and we were the only ones going but they opened it up Especially for us, drive us there and even brought down lunch for us with a lovely bottle of wine. When we were ready we were driven back. We highly recommend paying to have the sea view as it so worth it and takes sipping drinks on your patio To a new level! The town of Vico Equense is very close by and is filled with lots of choices of bars and restaurants and shops. The train station is also a short walk and is ideal to visit places like Pompeii and the town of sorrento. We have already booked to return next May and we cannot wait!!…
This review concerns our stay at Hotel Mary in October 2022 with some additional reference to a 12-day Ledger Luxuria trip. As part of the trip, we had a six-night stay at Hotel Mary. This was our first trip to the region. The hotel is clean crisp and modern with panoramic vistas from the restaurant and pool terraces overlooking the bay - you will not be disappointed with these views! The bar is well stocked, and the bar staff are both engaging, smart and pleasant. I did not try the a la carte menu as we had hotel dinners included in our package. The restaurant service was good and the choice of set meals (which we were presented with each morning) was agreeable with some local specialities such as (I think they are called!) Strozzapreti and zitti (pastas). Not everyone in our group shared my view but I will leave that up to them to present their own reviews. The hotel in practical terms is around 12 to 15minutes walk to vico town centre. The first time we walked up to town was a bit of an experience along a busy road with very narrow footpaths in some places. Scooters flying past and cars hooting! that said second time round we got more used to it. The town is vibrant particularly after 5pm with a range of shops and some bars and restaurants. We had an inland room which was very nicely appointed but disappointingly overlooked the busy road - we were told on requesting to change our room that Ledger are only allocated standard rooms and therefore no other rooms were available with sea views. Other down sides to being Ledger Passengers is that WiFi is not included and the cost for WiFi is an additional e5.00 euros per day per device. Half the cost of cocktail - which looks a bit stingy on the tour operators part if I am honest. Again, being a Ledger guest does not include membership to the beach club situated in the small harbour below the hotel - that is an extra e15.00 euros per head as I understand and as you are not a beach club member you are not entitled to the e2.00 euro per head courtesy van ride down to the harbour? You can as a Hotel Guest still use the courtesy bus to the harbour, but the cost per head is higher. There are around 290 steps down to the harbour which is fine if you are used to walking. Saying that as a Ledger guest you are able to enjoy the stunning pool terrace (although there seemed to be a mix up as to whether pool towels were available or not to Ledger passengers - some travellers had to resort to reception intervention to sort this out). Cocktails are around 10.00 euros on average, and we had the house White Wine which was pretty decent and costs 6.00euros per glass (a bottle is around 18.00euros). Cokes were around 4.00 euros per bottle and tea and coffee is available on payment throughout the day from the bar. The Room has a fridge (for which you pay a 5.00 euro surcharge to have stocked then each item is billed separately on use). There is a nice SPA offering a range of treatments if you want a special treat while in the resort. The access from the street is quite good with one step up to get onto the footway, internally the bar, reception, restaurant and terraces are all level with a small threshold to the terrace, there is also an accessible WC at the reception level making this a comfortable hotel if you are not too good with stairs, The lift accesses most floors I went to and also the pool deck with no intermediate steps. I believe there is one disabled facilities room (with support bars etc) and some rooms have low access showers while some have shower over bath arrangements. There was ample hot water for showers with both handheld and overhead rain shower. The room also has a safe which was not working in our room on arrival (I gave up on this) and the Air Con was a bit temperamental till a staff member sorted the controls out.…
Just arrived back from a 12 day Luxuria Coach Holiday with Leger to Sorrento and The Neapolitan Riviera our drivers Gareth and George did a grand job of looking after us all on the coach. Our main hotel was Hotel Mary in Vico Equense situated on the Sorrento Coast Italy for six nights 14th-19th September, what a fabulous hotel with fantastic views, rooms had balconies, lift, outdoor infinity swimming pool with sunbathing terrace, good restaurant and bar, just a short walk to the bustling town of Vico Equense, all the staff friendly and very helpful the house keeping was excellent throughout the hotel, food delicious with table service for evening and buffet style for breakfast with so much choice. Our holiday itinerary was excellent our coach and drivers took us to Sorrento where we had plenty of time to look all around, we had a walking/coach tour around the sights of Rome, on the trips to Pompeii and Vesuvius, Isle Capri, Amalfi Coast this was operated by local coach and driver and we had a guide Sabina who was very knowledgeable we saw so much. This was over all a fabulous holiday with good drivers, excellent itinerary and everyone on the coach became good friends and we all helped each other so everyone enjoyed it. Another well done to Leger Holidays…
Had a wonderful 2 days at vico equense at hotel Mary. Staff were so nice and friendly. We had a 6 and 8 year old in the spacious room. The hotel was sparkling clean. Food was terrific and the views were just amazing. Small walk to restaurants and a nice family park. We walked to the beach as well which is a short walk down the mountain for people who aren’t worried about uneven steel stairs. The pool was freeezing but refreshing and absolutely got hours. Would highly recommend for families and couples. It was a real pleasure to stay there.
The 4 star rating of this hotel is questionable. Our check in and check out experience was awful. The hotel staff need training in how to treat customers. Photography on booking sites cleverly portrays the hotel in a better light than reality. There are far better hotels in Vico Sequence at a lower price.
