My wife, 5-year old daughter, and I stayed here for 4 nights in September 2024 and found it to be a reasonably good accommodation, even if we did seriously question our decision to stay in Vico as opposed to Sorrento. As it so happens, on each of the three full days we were in the area, we had activities starting in Sorrento – whether it be a farm tour in Massa Lubrense or a bus tour of the Amalfi Coast – and we found the train system connecting Vico and Sorrento to be unreliable. We even ran into a train strike on the second day of our stay in the area and were caught by surprise because there were no announcements at the train station. Therefore, Vico proved to be a rather inconvenient location to be based out of during our 4-day trip to the area.

In any event, coming back to Cubo Apartments itself, I like some of the aspects of the accommodation that have been noted by other reviewers. The rooms are quite modern and the views from the room, and particularly the terrace, are great. The breakfast – that’s made by the mother of the family who runs the place – is nice, although in all fairness, I do wish there were more hot-food options, like sausages or waffles or pancakes. The one hot-food option that exists is a freshly made omelet and on the one morning that I had, I quite liked it. There are also several freshly baked goods that are very nice. I appreciate the fact that on the day we were leaving the hotel by 8:15 a.m. – and it was too early to have breakfast – we could bring a few items with us like apple juice and croissants for the day.

In terms of the location of the place, as I have already noted, Vico may not be the best place to explore the Amalfi Coast or the Sorrentine Peninsula because most excursions start in Sorrento. However, conditional on deciding to base yourselves in Vico, these apartments are nicely located. The train station is only 5 minutes away and there are several good restaurants located within spitting distance of the apartments, including Terramia Ristorante and Terrazza Glicine, where we dined during our stay.

The two things that make me take off a star is the smell of sewage in the main bathroom, which was just awful. It has been many years since I have stayed in an accommodation that had such a smell. It was strong enough that my wife avoided using the bathroom as much as possible. (Btw, this is the “Asia Superior” room if I am not mistaken.) My bathroom, on the other hand, on the second level of the apartment was free of this issue and I had no problems using it. This issue of sewage smell ought to be fixed, even if it takes significant expense to do so. The other issue – and this is more minor – is the lack of lights in the laundry area. While we did not realize the lack of lights when we started our laundry load at around 5 p.m., by the time it was all done, at 10 p.m. (yes, the dryer took forever), we had to use the flashlights on our smartphone to look around. That’s an inconvenience. It should be an easy fix to put lights in the laundry area.

All in all, I would advise people against staying in Vico, if they can help it. However, if they decide to stay in Vico, they can surely consider staying here. I would.

We absolutely loved our time at Cubo Apartments. Vico Equense is a beautiful small town and is also a perfect location for exploring places in southern Italy such as Sorrento, Capri, Pompeii and Amalfi Coast. This is a family run business who made us feel at home. Federico was available to answer our queries at all times and was really helpful giving us information for taxis, travelling, restaurants etc. Anna made us a gorgeous breakfast and coffee every morning and was so welcoming.

The rooms were beautifully designed, modern and clean. Stunning views from the balcony of Mount Vesuvius and the sea. Washing machine, ironing board and anything else you might need. Lots of lovely restaurants in short walking distance from the hotel.

The hotel is a 2 minute walk to Vico Equense train station which makes it a great base from which you can travel around: Pompeii (22 minutes), Sorrento (11 minutes) and Naples (approx 1hr).

We would highly recommend these apartments and we can’t wait to come back!

Cubo apartments was honestly amazing from start to finish. Federico, the son, was really a fantastic help. Organising transport from the airport to the apartments was great as we arrived quite late in the evening. The complimentary drinks on arrival was still given even with the late hour which was a lovely touch. Upon arrival we were offered an upgrade which had some of the most breath taken views. The apartments themselves are beautiful as we didn't get the upgrade until the following day due to other guests leaving we got an advantage of seeing more then 1 apartment. They are modern, well maintained, clean, spacious enough for a couple and really beautifully decorated. The house keeping ladies were lovely and also helpful if anything was needed. The apartment is located in a great spot with a supermarket around the corner, the train stations 5 minute walk away and plenty of restaurants to choose from. Federico was extremely helpful when we asked questions about trips and excursions, given great tips and sending links that were useful. Federicos and Alassandras, the daughter, English is excellent and both were helpful for questions and tips about getting around. Anna, the mam, was a character in herself while her English is not great she makes you feel so welcome and tries her hardest to explain things even getting out google translate to give her a helping hand. By far some of the nicest baked goods I have had in a long time and her home made jam, the fruits grown in their garden, is delicious. On our second last day we woke up late and thinking we wouldn't get breakfast in the apartments were making a plan when breakfast was delivered to our door which was a really nice touch and very welcoming. I would be happy to recommend this apartment to family and friends and would happily come back myself. Cubo apartments really is a great place to stay

Cubo apartments are run by a family led by Signora Anna, who provides food from her own garden for breakfast each day. The apartments are spacious, clean and comfortable. They are located on a main road so there is some traffic noise but are central for the access road to the beach and nearby railway station, connecting to Sorrento, Naples and Pompeii. There’s a good choice of restaurants close by.
Our hosts were exceptional, rearranging the rooftop terrace with its view of the Bay of Naples so that sun beds were provided.
We enjoyed the location in the town of Vico Equense and especially the warm welcome provided by Anna, Federico and Angela.
Thank you for a great holiday.

What a nice family! My wife and I stayed in the Europe apartment with a perfect sea view from a large balcony which included mt. Visuvius, the kitchen was well equiped with high quality equipment.
Breakfast was amazing with fresh fruit, yogurt, fresh pasteries and freshly cooked omelet cooked by mum and served by Angela.
The location is ideal if you want to visit Sorento or Pompeii and the train station is only a two minute walk away.
Our stay was most enjoyable and we would definately stay there again. I don't normally write reviews, so must be good.

I stayed at Cubo Apartments for 2 nights. An exceptional structure, in an excellent position to visit the coast also because it is very close to the bus and train stop that allows you to reach Sorrento and other towns in a few minutes. The rooms are spotless, spacious and well maintained, refrigerator, kitchen, home automation, air conditioning, TV with Netflix connection, prime, Disney +, etc .. the staff is very kind and ready to give you all the information to best visit the coast. Breakfast is fantastic with freshly baked croissants, fruit, omelets... well nothing is missing. The parking agreement is right in front. Special thanks to all the staff! Super recommended property!

We stayed for 7 nights in the Europa apartment, we chose it for the large terrace and stunning views across the Bay of Naples and Mt Vesuvius and we were not disappointed, the view was simply breathtaking. Communication with Federico was excellent; he helped accommodate a very late check-in (due to a flight delay) and arranged a boat trip to Capri - one of the highlights of our stay. Breakfast was lovely and included crossiants, Mama's home made cakes and omlettes amoungst other delights, all served by Anna who was lovely. The apartments are only a couple of minutes walk to the train station from where you can catch the train to Pompeii, Vesuvius, Herculaneum and Sorrento. There are a great selection of restaurants within a 5 minute walk; our favourites were Ventitré Taverna Mediterranean near to the train station (really nice steak meal) and Ristorante Terramia virtually next door to the Cubo Apartments. And Gelateria Gabrielle served the best ice-cream on the Sorrento peninsular. I'd highly recommend the Cubo apartments as a great place to stay and Vico Equense as a really good alternative to Sorrento.

Anna and her family are absolute gems. If you want to stay in a really nice place and have the feeling like you are staying with your nonna, look no further. She hosted a fantastic and fresh breakfast every single morning. All the food was fresh and she used veggies from her own garden. Her apartments are spotless and modern. You will have any amenity you could need. Anna spoke to us warmly and even taught me some more italian. She was very caring and even provided us more linens to line our stroller for our baby.
The location is beautiful, the view is breathtaking as well as being very central to the town center along with a short 5 minute walk to the bus and train station. Which makes it a wonderful place to stay if you are seeking to travel up and down the coast.
We plan to be back and will definitely be staying with Anna at Cubo apartments again! 10/10 <3

We spent two days at this Pension and everything was perfect. The rooms are very nice and very clean. The welcome of the owners is exceptional. We arrived at 4pm and were able to taste delicious pasta prepared by the Owner as well as delicious white figs from her organic vegetable garden. The breakfasts are very hearty and very good. The Pension’s location is also ideal as it is a 2-minute walk to Naples, Sorrento and Pompeii. In short, a Pension where you can go with your eyes closed. A big thank you for your very good welcome!
