Without overusing hyperbole, this was as near an ideal site for us as we could imagine and one of the very best that we have been fortunate to stumble across! Our placement was quiet, spacious and private surrounded by mature trees and wildlife. The shower block and other facilities were always spotlessly clean and well equipped. The use of clean fridges and freezers was very well organised and a blessing whilst camping. Vikki and Mike were attentive and helpful and full of advice and suggestions for days out. The weekly crepe evening is not to be missed as to is swimming in the clean and peaceful waters of the river Alne opposite the campsite entrance. We also saw salmon and a solitary kingfisher. Local beaches and the fishing ports of Cameret-sur-mere and Duarnenez were added bonuses contributing variety and colour to an all too brief stay.…
This was our third visit to Camping La Pointe and we continue to enjoy the wonderful campsite. Mike and Vikki work so hard to maitain everything to a very high standard including the new Covid procedures. It's a peaceful site with excellent walks direct to the countryside and canal. The local town of Chateaulin has all you need for a visit, we also hired a car from the local supermarket and headed to the Crozon peninsula which is stunning. We enjoyed the crepe night and were also lucky to see an otter in the canal along with kingfishers. We hope to return again.
A beautiful site with an abundance of mature trees which makes for great privacy for pitches. Owls hoot at night and otherwise it’s very tranquil. Wash block clean and excellent. Welcoming hosts. Wonderful crepe night, utterly delicious. The adjacent canal is stunning, there are some lovely walks/runs from the campsite. Chateaulin is great, gorgeous patisseries and historic bridges. Close to beaches, Crozon peninsula and Roscoff/north coast of Brittany. Can’t wait to return.
It is hard to exaggerate on the beauty of this site. We enjoyed the abundant flowers, lots of space, and calm atmosphere. This is not a place for party animals, but the place to be to explore the coast and inland of Finistère, away from the tourist crowds. We happily recommend staying here!
This is a very nice campsite near the river. You can walk into town into about 20 minutes, or you could rent a bike at the site. The toilet/washroom facilties are very genrous, and really, really(!) spotless. The owners Vicky and Mike are very nice and helpful people. They even lent us a pair of drive-on wedges to level out our camping car. We can really recommend the spot and will surely come back one day.
