We spent 2 days at Sweetwater and didn't want to leave. The beautiful cabins are private, peaceful and surrounded by diverse flora and fauna, with a lovely spring fed creek running through the property. It's perfect base for exploring the surrounding area either by foot or vehicle, we will be back :)

We had the most wonderful stay at Sweetwater. Beautiful lodge so well designed, finished (with local timbers) and spotlessly clean. Couldn't be more happy. Wendy and Glen were such lovely and thoughtful hosts. Highly recommended, we hope to be back soon.

Situated off the road on a big piece of a former fruit farm. Has it's own access to the rainforest and a brook with a swimming hole and sometimes you can see there the platypus ! Perfectly equipped cottage with outdoor kitchen and rainshower. Very friendly hosts.

Sweetwater Lodge is an amazing place. It is so well done, in a great location, and a perfect place to stay. We only stayed 2 nights but we will be heading back next time for a much longer stay. We loved the outdoor kitchen and indoor/outdoor shower. Wendy was the perfect host and nothing was too much trouble. The Lodge...

Having rented one of the two Sweetwater properties on every occasion of our recent visits to Northern Queensland we can confidently recommend it to those desiring the very highest standard of accommodation. Not only are the lodges beautifully finished and exceptionally well equipped, they are set within 160 acres of grassland and private rainforest. The river running just 500 metres...

If peace, nature, comfort and easy access are your requirements then Sweetwater Lodge is the answer. The beautifully designed and decorated cabins are just the beginning with their outdoor modern kitchen with open views, polished floors and indoor/outdoor shower and spa. Walk to the swimming hole or into the rainforest. A few minutes drive to Mount Molloy or Julatten then...

We stayed for a couple of nights in August 2014. The cabins are beautiful and very cleverly designed. The owners (Wendy and Glenn) are great and very hands-off unless you need something. Inside, Glenn has done much of the fit-out, which is beautifully and cleverly done. The result is the cabins are very comfortable for a few nights stay, and...

I fully agree with everything that has been written here previously about Sweetwater Lodge. It is a heaven of peace and quiet, ideal to recover from lingering jet lag... and from the hustle and bustle of Cairns. The owners Wendy and Glenn are both very welcoming and discreet: you'll be left alone unless you request help or information. A few...

“I'd ask for the second cabin, closest the creek. The view from the living area and outdoor kitchen is the forest, not the other cabin. However, either are great. Lazy birding from the lounge in front of the fire was a treat!”
