Pieter and Aretha went over and beyond to accommodate us at last minute when there was a problem with our arranged accommodation in Chrissiesmeer for a wedding. Thank you so much! What a wonderful, cosy and beautiful lodge, neat and clean rooms, friendly staff and tasty breakfast!

Open plan room was very comfortable, has a well stocked fireplace, kettle and a microwave. Ground coffee and fresh farm milk in the refrigerator. View of the Meer from the room window. Country atmosphere. The farm borders on the Meer / dam and if you stay over, fishing is allowed. The breakfast the following morning, in the historical dining room,...

We stayed at Miss Chrissie's Country House over the weekend with friends as we were attending a wedding in the area. Firstly the location is great , the rooms are lovely and very clean ad tidy. We arranged to have a braai in the braai room and Miss Chrissie's supplied us with the side dishes which was GREAT! We had...

My wife and I visited this establishment, with another couple, a few years ago. Because the area is noted for good birding, we decided to stay there again for a night. Unfortunately, the birding was disappointing as we had hoped to see flocks of flamingos, but Miss Chrissies was great. Pieter was again present and we were served a delicious...

Very friendly welcome which almost made me and my husband feel like we were visiting family. The room was so charming, the bed perfect and the bath was something I wish could fit in my car to take home... The home cooked food was just what made the hours traveling feel worth it. I loved how Pieter interacted with all...

We booked one night (21 - 22 December 2016) at Miss Chrissie's as friends got married close by. Found Miss Chrissie's listed at 4 star but arrived to a huge disappointment. No management on duty and the lady working there wasn't aware of our booking. Our room was not great, not very clean and were given the wrong room key...

A lovely guest house on a working farm. Pieter is very attentive and helpful. We booked the self catering cottage, on arrival, Pieter recommended we stay in one of the available guest rooms because it was more suitable for us. He showed us both rooms before making a decision and we agreed with him. The room was well equipped and...

We highly recommend Miss Chrissies!! My parents, myself and my grandmother came to stay for 2 nights on our way to Durban. We loved it! The first thing we noticed was the excellent food, my dad says the filet was fantastic - in fact, the best he has had in South Africa! - and as vegetarians my mother and I...

Very quaint decorated rooms with fires and electric blankets. Working farm. Piet has wonderful stories about history of the area. We had a birding guide organized with great knowledge of birds. Magnificent sightings of birds especially flamingos

We stayed over for one night as a friend of ours got married close by. We originally booked for 2 nights and had to cancel one night last minute. Pieter (the owner) was very understanding and we ended up only paying for the one night. We had a self catering room for two. The room was very clean and elegantly...
