We stumbled upon this chambre d'hote via the tourist office in Brantome. It was an absolute 'find', an ancient chateau painstakingly and expertly renovated by owners Tim and Christine who made us very welcome. We were only going to stay for one night, but decided on two as it was such a pleasant place. We were shown to the blue...

We've just returned from Le Grange, the second visit in twelve months. It's the perfect place to stay. The location is superb, lots of things to see and do.The chateau is amazing, and the warmth of the welcome is second to none. In moments I fell in love with this magnificent chateau. Christine and her family welcomed us into their beautiful home and had no objection to the dogs staying. I have two Jack Russell terriers. We were given the very lovely Blue Room; the first to be renovated I believe. It was immaculately and beautifully restored with an en suite bathroom...

A fantastic place to stay....the photo above is not of the place! It is a real chateau with a partial moat, etc... The rooms and facilities are wonderful, the hostess is very friendly and does a great breakfast! We stayed there for three nights - such a wonderful place to stay and so much to do in the area! Our friendly host, Christine, welcomed us after a long day property searching around the area. Our ensuite room was beautiful with an amazing bathroom which held a corner bath and super equipped shower. Breakfast was lovely with fresh breads, fruit and cereal with choice of teas or coffee. We stayed only one night in this beautiful place, but if we ever be in the area, we will chose this place again. The chateau is charming, rooms are spacious and comfortable, very quite and surrounded by beautiful garden. Christine is very helpful and welcoming, gave us suggestions for good restaurants, tasty breakfast. The surroundings are unexpected beautiful, medieval village...

Where to start? First of all, this is not "Speciality", but neither is it a Hotel. But to describe it only as Bed and Breakfast, which it is, does not really do it justice! Let's do a tour. Stayed for three nights in this beautiful peaceful chateau lovingly restored by the owners. Very friendly and attentive host who provided an excellent French style breakfast, in fact we heard Christine go out each morning for the very fresh croissants and bread. We recently stayed for a week in this gorgeous chateau with friends and basically took over the place! Our room was just beautifully renovated with lovely double-aspect views and as comfortable as being at home. The owners could not have been more hospitable and nothing was too much trouble- the help and advice given by them both made our holiday...
