I have taken a lot of time and thought before writing this review. I wanted to be fair, balanced and not reactive. This Hotel/apartments has a good website which is presented well with strategic photos. However, the website needs to reflect the correct representation of the hotel in terms of what is available and when on any day or anytime of the year. All the staff are so welcoming and helpful from the reception to the maids. Yes, so welcoming to dogs as well. I really can not fault the staff in any way and would like to thank them for our stay. Indeed, when we left early they just wanted to know how to improve. I have needed time to reflect. Thankfully, we live in France so we could get home relatively quickly. Our room was very basic but clean. The bed was big and comfortable. The decor was just plain grey and white and just a picture would have enhanced it. Initially the shower was covered in black mould but the next day the maid had cleaned it, without our prompting, and then it was fine. Towels, toiletries all good. The main thing is that you really wouldn’t want your whole evening spent in the room but other facilities just didn’t exist. We were not provided with any drink making facilities (which wasn’t clear when booking only that we couldn’t take any electrical appliances - which other guests did). The website says that there is a coffee machine which was in the bar which was closed and locked! We did get a coffee one morning and it it was lovely 2€ which wasn’t too bad but we would have loved to access that facility other times of the day. Also we booked a room with balcony and view. We got a dirty small terrace staring at a tree which blocked the view. There are somethings the hotel can’t help because of location. Nevertheless, the website and advertising should not promise services that simply were not open or closed at ridiculously early times. We live in France so we understand the ritual times of opening and closing but these establishments just close early or don’t open which left us out on a limb. I would also say that there is no clear indication on those neighboring establishments of when or if they would open! So to sum up: The two biggest things which did spoil our stay were the lack of a hotel bar. It was there but was never open, yet it was meant to be! The bar/restaurants next door close very early and, in fact, the pizza restaurant didn’t even open on the evenings (expect on days we were not staying). Just dreadful. So you either need to take a long walk or a car drive to find evening dining or entertainment. The WiFi is really appalling! Yes, it is free but it was hard to get access and then dropped off after about two minutes. After that you need to put in the code again… and again! That really isn’t acceptable in this day and age. I want to thank the staff so much because I don’t think it is your fault. I thank you for your hospitality.
