We have stayed in Mer et Golf several times and think it’s a great choice – super location, friendly & helpful staff, clean throughout, heated swimming pool, relatively fair price overall (given post-Covid price inflation). Overall, we would recommend this option to others. But there are some improvement opportunities which are flagged in other reviews, which I would agree with: - Air-conditioning is necessary, especially with more frequent heatwaves. It’s a “must have”. At a very minimum, the fans provided should be silent - as they're too loud at night-time. - We recommend that the old bed linen and pillows are replaced with higher quality. - Wifi should be free for all and very reliable. I think this is the only place I know in the last 5+ years that has a fee for wifi. - Upgrade or replace the playground and games room. They’re old at this point and not much fun for kids. A slide in the pool would be a nice addition. - King size beds would be preferable for the bedrooms as opposed to the current double bed size. - The corridor areas could do with being brighter I think addressing the above areas would really improve the development and bring it up to the standard expected by today's guests.…

Nous comprenons tout à fait les axes d'amélioration que vous attendez. Nous n'avons pas la possibilité de fournir un wifi gratuit pour tous car nous sommes en bout de ligne question connectivité, nous ne serions pas en mesure de fournir un service de qualité à chacun. Le wifi est cependant gratuit dans le hall de la réception. Nous travaillons sans cesse à entretenir au mieux nos appartements pour la satisfaction de nos résidents. Reception staff very helpful. Apt.basic with a lot of bright yellow doors. No hairdryer nor Iron / Ironing Board provided in the Apt. the latter is communal in the laundry room. Toilet is separate to the bathroom which means you have to handle door handles and light switches before you can wash your hands. Disgusting!! Unbelievable request that you clean the Apt. take out the rubbish etc prior to departure. I've been round the world including 3rd world countries and never had this experience before. Even more disgusting when you check in you are given a document outlining T& C for your departure which states you must fold your sheets/ pillow cases and towels and leave them on the kitchen table, can you think of anything more disgusting than the previous guests soiled and dirty linen being left on the table you are about to eat at/ from . I think this complex requires training on Health and Safety issues and perhaps a visit from the French Health and Safety Standards would not go amiss. On arrival I had to request a change of bed linen as there was blood stained marks on the sheets ( unsure whether this was human or insect related). The lady who came to change the linen advised it was not blood but it was from the washing machine ,I still don't understand this explanation.!!!! The towels we were provided with were originally white but bordering on grey / black and in addition were thread bare and should have been binned or recycled a long time ago. If I had a dog I would be reluctant to use them to dry him/her. The internet has a daily charge and is restricted to the use of 2 devices. During the day the location is good. Come night time it is like being in a cemetery/ morgue , very limited Restaurants are open and impossible to get a drink other than wine or beer.…

Based on the past reviews the place should be nice, no doubts. Of course, all the current reviews are from the past. Yet, if you have to travel to go there , think about booking during the current Covid time, In fact, it looks like many scientists predict it will be with us for long. Are they wrong? The property may not understand your needs if Covid cases surge, as it is happening now and as it may happen in the future. I am a faithful Booking customer and a frequent traveller. I always book when I can cancel. This time, based on France and Europe worsening general situation, I tried to cancel about almost 1 month before my arrival. Travelling and coming back would have been difficult. Such an early cancellation would usually allow the property accept another customer , a fresh one , maybe someone who is ABLE TO SAFELY TRAVEL TO CURRENT COVID FRANCE (!!!) and TO SAFELY GO BACK TO HIS PLACE. In my specific case, they have not accepted such an early cancellation(3-4 weeks before). Unfortunately, IT MAY LOOK LIKE they DO NOT TAKE their customers' NEEDS related to current France situation in any consideration. Probably I am wrong when I think that getting money while giving back nothing may be a much easier business. So, please, feel free to book there! It is a great place, maybe. Just know that if anything changes your plans you may find troubles, even if you are trying to cancel 3 or 4 weeks before your arrival. In case you want to book , do it freely. It should be a very nice place !!! If you like it, do not pay too much attention to the current ews about Covid in France, the new restrictions , the protesters, green passes, curfews , et cetera..... Paying without going does not look to me as a very goot deal, but.... you never know. You may like it, expecially if you pay for a nice place whose pre-Covid customers wrote nice reviews. I loved them when I myself booked. It's a wonderful place to go.... Enjoy it.... if you are sure you can safely travel and return. Good luck with such a wonderful place ! I may book happily again, after all pandemic effects are gone, maybe in 3-4 years, or maybe even more .…

We had a great stay in the hotel. Well equipped kitchen, spacious living room and very comfortable beds. There are plenty of restaurants around. Downtown at walkable distance. Nice swimming pool and play area where my kids spent most of their time. Overall, very good decision and we would love to come back.

Although out of season it is quiet and many of the restaurants and shops in the marina close, the main town a d villages offer a good choice of alternatives. The apartments are clean and well positioned for stunning views of the sea and mountains. Comfortable and spacious with small kitchen to cook lighter meals. They are well stocked with utensils, pans plates etc. Hob and microwave and two fridges. Gets very busy in high season apparently. Definitely would recommend as an ideal base to explore the many things to see in the region.

Great location, friendly staff. But some things just need to be attended to with urgency to justify the rates charged: 1. AIR CONDITIONING - it is 2019, not 1989. Air conditioning exists in the most basic apartments and hotels now. Please install this. You will lose out on customers and your rates will suffer. Providing just ONE FAN (!) per apartment that circulates warm air is not good enough. 2. WIFI - good quality signals and free for everyone. No more stupid rules about number of devices and charging for it. Again it is 2019! 3. BETTER QUALITY LINEN - the linen provided is very cheap, basic quality. For the rates charged in the Summer, we are entitled to better quality linen and replacements (for free) when the linen is being washed. 4. PROVIDE TEA TOWELS AND WASHING LIQUID 5. COMMUNAL BBQ AREA 6. EXCLUSIVE DISCOUNTS / DEALS WITH LOCAL BUSINESSES - e.g. restaurants, taxis, Uber / Uber Eats Above all of this, please sort out AIR CONDITIONING for 2020. Include within the rates, if you have to. But people value a good night's sleep and comfortable, relaxing stay above everything else.…

Nous comprenons que vous pussiez avoir souffert de la température en France pendant votre séjour et que les ventilateurs mis à disposition dans les appartements vous aient paru insuffisants. Vous avez réservé dans une résidence de Tourisme. Celles-ci, de façon générale sont régies par des règlements de copropriété définis par les propriétaires des appartements. Ceci pour vous expliquer qu'il n'est pas envisageable d'installer dans l'enceinte de la résidence un Barbecue commun. Comment auriez-vous réagi si en plus de la température il vous avait fallu supporter les odeurs de sardines grillées?. Dans tous les cas et de façon générale, ce genre d'installation n'est pas admise pour des raisons évidentes de sécurité. Nous avons choisi d'installer dans notre jardin méditerranéen, pour le confort et le bonheur de tous autour de la piscine, une aire de jeux enfants, un terrain de volley et un boulodrome pour les rencontres et jeux en commun. A votre arrivée, nous vous avons remis un livret d'accueil dans votre langue qui contenait toutes les informations pratiques pour que votre séjour soit une réussite. Il y était mentionné les prestataires qui vous offrent des tarifs malins, des réductions sur présentation de la clé de votre appartement. Uber n'existe pas sur Argeles sur Mer qui demeure, quoi qu'on en pense, un village catalan typique et au charme absolu d'à peine plus de 10 000 habitants. Les serviettes à thé ne sont malheureusement pas utilisées dans les résidences de Tourisme en France peut-être éventuellement dans l'hôtellerie de luxe. Nous sommes désolé cher JesusKristi que votre séjour n'ait pas correspondu totalement à vos attentes et vous souhaitons sincèrement de prochaines expériences totalement réussies. Nice room, friendly and helpful staff. Location was perfect, the view was beautiful and we enjoyed the balconny on morning. Easy access to the local town, really worth it. Will be back again (been twice here in two year)

Very friendly and warm welcome. Clean and light room with excellent views over the mountains including the Canigou. The building is next to the harbour and there are beaches about 5 minutes walk away at Argeles Plage and Le Racou. Very close to a large number of restaurants. I have stayed here many times. It was another very happy stay.

We have stayed in Mer et Golf several times and it suits us for lots of reasons - convenient location, good value (mid / off season) and friendly, helpful service every time. We will stay here again! But the complex requires modernisation at this point and I'd urge management to prioritise addressing some key issues: 1) Air Conditioning - I recognise this requires significant investment but it is a must have in 2018! Guests now expect it and providing a fan is no longer an acceptable solution. Please prioritise this for 2019! 2) Free, high quality Wifi - the wifi is patchy and is not free for non-propriétaires. This is a basic service that every hotel provides for free in 2018 so again, please improve the network and make it available for free to all. 3) Cleaning products - please provide guests with basic cleaning items - e.g. washing up liquid, table clothes, brush etc. Guests staying for <1 week should not have to buy these items. 4) BBQ zone - it would be so useful to have a shared outside area for a BBQ. I'm sure you could find an area where guests can prepare a BBQ. Admittedly, a "nice to have" rather than "must have". Addressing these would allow you to increase the rates to stay in the complex so should be cost neutral (aside from cost of installation). Hope this feedback is useful and you look to improve quality of amenities available at the complex next year.…

En guise de réponse il nous est important de vous préciser que la résidence est avant tout une copropriété traditionnelle avec des règles établies que la Société Mer et Golf n'est pas en mesure de transformer de son propre chef. En effet, des propriétaires habitent cette résidence de façon permanente ou temporaire. Nous sommes conscients de la demande de certains de nos résidents, principalement en période de canicule et faisons notre possible pour que les choses s'améliorent. Nous avons par exemple réussi à installer le chauffage de la piscine en 2018 et nos résidents en sont très heureux. We returned from our 6 night stay at Meretgolf Port Argeles a few days ago. We chose the accommodation just a few weeks before our trip as this was a "last minute" holiday. Having read the description of the accommodation, location, facilities, rental terms and several reviews, we were very content with what we found. The communication with Meretgolf during and after the booking process was good and we understood what we should expect. This is a self-catering establishment, not a hotel. There are charges for services at these apartments, but, that is explained. We did not hire the cleaning service, just the cleaning kit, as it is easy for us to keep an apartment clean especially for a short stay. The floors are fully tiled so, it is not a problem, but, the service is available and a family, for example, may find the cleaning service useful to save time. Our apartment was clean, the bed comfortable, small kitchenette, a good supply of crockery, etc., dining table, very comfortable settee, coffee table, tv which was never used because there was plenty to see from the large balcony (the views were lovely). The communal areas were spotlessly clean and the flooring well maintained. There is a very decent swimming pool on site surrounded by a large, paved deck with a good supply of loungers. Petanque, volleyball, children's play area and garden are all fenced. The apartments are in a good position for walking or cycling and there is easy access from the port to the beach and lovely promenade behind. There are many restaurants and a few small shops including boulangeries and a small grocery shop and lots of activity around the harbour, but, the area was not at all noisy when we were there. It was very calm and relaxing. The staff at reception were excellent and always dealt cheerfully with any questions and they are multi-lingual. The apartments could do with a wee bit of TLC and refreshment. A proper tea towel would be useful and suitable utensils for the pots, etc. (we had some non stick pans, but, there were no suitable non-scratch utensils). We had a lovely time and the apartment suited us very well. Would we return? Absolutely yes.…
